Low-profile keyboard

A keyboard (110) includes a base board (116), keys (112), pitfalls (120) and a mode control mechanism (118). The keys (112) include cups (1124), and the mode control mechanism (118) may switch the keyboard (110) especially the key cups (1124) between different modes. In case that the keyboard (110) is not in use, these cups (1124) can be received in the pitfalls (120) to reduce the profile of the keyboard (110). In case that the keyboard (110) is to be used, the keys (112) may be raised up and arranged on the base board (116) in order to enable long keystroke and provide good typing experience.

Keyboard

Embodiments of keyboards having variations of electrically connecting keys to an internal component of an electronic device are described. Some embodiments include positioning several rows of conductive layers below several rows of keys. The conductive layers may be configured to receive a signal indicating a key has been depressed. Also, the internal component may be configured to scan the conductive layers to determine whether a key or keys have been depressed. In some embodiments, the conductive layers lie outside a portion of the electronic device in which internal components are traditionally located. In some embodiments, a substrate may be integrally connected with the keyboard. The substrate may receive some internal components of the electronic device.

Electronic device, waterproof button structure, and waterproof partition

A waterproof button structure includes a housing, a cover plate, and a waterproof partition. The housing includes a button switch. The cover plate covers the button switch. The cover plate includes a pressable button. The button switch is in one-to-one correspondence with the button. The waterproof partition is located between the housing and the cover plate. A waterproof film of the waterproof partition is adjacent to the cover plate. A waterproof foam of the waterproof partition is adjacent to the housing. When the button is pressed, the button is abutted by the waterproof film, and the button switch is activated.

Control panel

A control panel designed to be placed in a vertical plane, the control panel comprising the layered assembly of a flat base, of an elastomer sheet mounted against the base, the sheet being provided with openings and optionally with domes, and of a decorative fascia. The control panel is in addition provided with a means for protection against liquids made in one piece with the sheet, the protection means comprising elements projecting from the main surface of the sheet, the said elements being so arranged that when the control panel is in the substantially vertical plane and the liquid penetrates between the sheet and the decorative fascia, the liquid is guided along a determined course and re-emerges from the panel having avoided critical zones leading in particular to detectors.
