DUAL-FUNCTION SPRING
An injection device for dispensing a product, the injection device including a moveable element which is moved for a dispensing operation, a spring, a product container holder and a product container, wherein the spring pushes against the moveable element to move the moveable element to an initial position after the dispensing operation has ended and against the product container to seat the product container in the product container holder.
Disposable injector having a sound-proofing layer
A disposable injector comprising a housing, a spring-loaded piston-actuating plunger arranged in the housing and able to be released by a trigger unit. A cylinder-piston unit comprising a cylinder and a piston that is positioned at a distance from the piston-actuating plunger. A closed layer made on an elastically-deformable material surrounds the piston-actuating plunger in at least some sections and projects beyond same in the trigger direction, resulting in a disposable injector that will not alarm a patient during use thereof.
AUTOMATIC INJECTION DEVICE WITH A DAMPENING ELEMENT
An automatic injection device including a generally cylindrical syringe body having an opening, an outlet and an inner cylindrical surface adapted to contain an injectable liquid to be injected at an injection site via the outlet; a piston disposed in the cylindrical syringe body; a driving assembly, including an elongate plunger element having a forward end adapted to be axially inserted into the generally cylindrical syringe body and an at least partial forward sealing element mounted onto the elongate plunger element adjacent the forward end for creating an at least temporary slidable seal between the elongate plunger element and the inner cylindrical surface, whereby axial insertion of the elongate plunger element and the forward sealing element into the generally cylindrical syringe body creates friction between the forward sealing element and the inner cylindrical surface and also creates an at least temporary air spring between the forward sealing element and the piston, wherein the friction and the air spring dampen motion of the elongate plunger element.
ASSISTED MANUAL INJECTOR DEVICES AND METHODS
Various embodiments disclosed herein relate to needle-based injectors that incorporate a power assembly comprising a stored energy source and a rate control assembly. The power assembly may be further configured to allow the injection to be performed with more force than a user may be capable of delivering, while also allowing the user to maintain control of the injection process after the stored energy source has been released and the injection has begun, such the user may increase or decrease the rate of injection, or stop the injection, during the injection process. In various embodiments, the power assembly may comprise spring- or gas-based stored energy sources, and/or may comprise friction- or tension-based rate control assemblies. Described herein are also methods for injecting an agent using embodiments of the devices described here.
AUTOMATIC INJECTION DEVICE
An automatic injection device including a housing element, at least one resilient element arranged to be located within the housing element, a syringe including at least one syringe piston, a needle guard adapted for selectable positioning with respect to the housing element and a selectable driving element adapted, when actuated, to be driven by the at least one resilient element for initially displacing the syringe relative to the housing element from a non-penetration position to a penetration position and thereafter displacing the at least one syringe piston in the syringe to effect drug delivery and displacing the needle guard into a needle guarding position.
DRUG DELIVERY DEVICE
A drug delivery device may include a housing defining a longitudinal axis and having an opening and a drug storage container including a barrel, a stopper and a delivery member, the stopper movably positioned within the barrel and the delivery member positioned at a distal end of the barrel and having an insertion end configured to extend at least partially through the opening during a delivery state. The device may also include plunger moveable toward the distal end of the drug storage container to engage the stopper and expel a drug from the drug storage container through the delivery member, the plunger including a body portion and a shock absorbing portion. The device may further include a plunger biasing member coupled with the plunger and configured to urge the plunger toward the distal end of the drug storage container.
AUTO INJECTOR WITH DETECTION OF USED CARTRIDGE AND ASSOCIATED METHOD
Disclosed is an auto-injector for administering a medicament, comprising: a housing; a cartridge receiver configured to receive a cartridge comprising a first stopper; a drive module coupled to move a plunger rod configured to move the first stopper; a resistance sensor configured to provide a resistance signal indicative of resistance against movement of the plunger rod; and a processing unit coupled to the drive module and to the resistance sensor. The processing unit being configured to: control the drive module to move the plunger rod towards the extended plunger rod position; determine present plunger rod position; receive the resistance signal; determine a cartridge parameter based on the resistance signal and the present plunger rod position; and control the drive module to adjust the movement of the plunger rod based on the cartridge parameter.
Plunger segments drive mechanism for a medicament delivery device
The present invention relates to a drive mechanism (10; 177) for a medicament delivery device, which drive mechanism (10; 177) comprises an elongated plunger rod (12; 176), wherein the plunger rod comprises a number of discrete segments (14; 178), interlocking elements (18, 20, 32, 34, 60, 62; 182, 184, 196, 198, 212, 214) arranged between adjacent segments operably arranged to releasably locking adjacent segments, drive force elements (30, 50 71; 194, 210, 230) operably arranged to act between adjacent segments, and release elements (46, 68; 208, 228) operably arranged to act on said interlocking elements (18, 20, 32, 34, 60, 62; 182, 184, 196, 198, 212, 214) such that said segments (14; 178) are released in sequence.
Medicament delivery devices for administration of a medicament within a prefilled syringe
An apparatus includes a housing, a medicament container and a movable member. The medicament container is configured to move within the housing between a first position and a second position in response to a force produced by an energy storage member. A proximal end portion of the medicament container includes a flange and has a plunger disposed therein. A first shoulder of the movable member is configured to exert the force on the flange to move the medicament container from the first position to the second position. A portion of the first shoulder deforms when the medicament container is in the second position such that at least a portion of the force is exerted upon the plunger. A second shoulder of the movable member is configured to exert a retraction force on the flange to move the medicament container from the second position towards the first position.
THERAPEUTIC AGENT DELIVERY DEVICE
A system for storing and delivering a predetermined amount of fluid includes a syringe including a barrel, a flange disposed at the proximal end of the barrel, and a plunger assembly configured to be received in the lumen of the barrel. The plunger assembly includes a piston and a plunger rod. The plunger rod is removably couplable to the piston at the distal end of the plunger rod and includes a thumb press flange at the proximal end of the plunger rod. The system further includes a stop feature that is removably couplable to the syringe or the plunger assembly. The stop feature is configured to arrest distal advancement of the plunger assembly relative to the syringe when the plunger assembly reaches a predetermined position relative to the syringe. The stop thus ensures that a predetermined amount of fluid remains in the barrel.
