SAFETY DISCONNECT MECHANISM WITH INTEGRATED ILLUMINATION FOR ELECTRONIC DEVICES
A control device includes a controller and a safety disconnect mechanism that is illuminable. The controller couples to a power supply line and a load line. Further, the controller is operable to control a power output on the load line using a power supplied by the power supply line. The safety disconnect mechanism is manipulatable between (i) an engaged state, coinciding with the power supply line being electrically coupled to the load line, and (ii) a disengaged state, coinciding with the power supply line and the load line being electrically decoupled, so that no power output is provided on the load line. A lighting element can be provided with the safety disconnect mechanism, where the lighting element is configured to have at least a first illumination state that is indicative of the safety disconnect mechanism being in the engaged position, and a second illumination state that is indicative of the safety disconnect mechanism being in the disengaged state.
Sustained Continuity Non-Powered Optomechanical Position Switch Utilizing Self-Testing Multiplexed Optocontrolling Transceiver in a Fiber-Optic Circuit
A non-powered passive optomechanical position switch and an operational control system for controlling an apparatus using an optical fiber waveguide, the switch including an orientable structure supporting a plurality of reflective surfaces at the terminus of the optical fiber waveguide, wherein at least some of the reflective surfaces each uniquely manipulates one or more properties of light received from the optical fiber waveguide in reflecting light back through the optical fiber waveguide to an optocontrolling transceiver. Orienting the orientable structure relative to the terminus of the optical fiber determines which of the plurality of reflective surfaces is positioned at the terminus of the optical fiber waveguide, and thereby determines what properties of light are manipulated and reflected back to the optocontrolling transceiver, through the optical fiber waveguide thereby controlling an apparatus.
LOAD CONTROL DEVICE HAVING A CAPACITIVE TOUCH SURFACE
A control device configured for use in a load control system to control an electrical load external to the control device may comprise an actuation member having a front surface defining a capacitive touch surface configured to detect a touch actuation along at least a portion of the front surface. The control device includes a main printed circuit board (PCB) comprising a control circuit, a tactile switch, a controllably conductive device, and a drive circuit operatively coupled to a control input of the controllably conductive device for rendering the controllably conductive device conductive or non-conductive to control the amount of power delivered to the electrical load. The control device also includes a capacitive touch PCB that comprises a touch sensitive circuit comprising one or more receiving capacitive touch pads located on the capacitive touch PCB and arranged in a linear array adjacent to the capacitive touch surface.
INTELLIGENT LIGHTING CONTROL APPARATUSES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS
The present disclosure provides light switch modules and methods of implementing a light switch module for a lighting control system. The light switch modules include a light switch actuator including an actuation surface. The light switch actuator is movable to connect an electrical flow path and to activate a tactile display housed in the light switch actuator. One or more tactile motions are applied on the actuation surface of the light switch actuator for selecting a lighting setting from among a plurality of lighting settings using the tactile display.
Wiring device with reversible line load connections
A wiring device and method that control an amount of power delivered to a load, which maintain function even if a line connection and a load connection are reverse wired. Designed circuitry comprising steering diodes in both a line and a load wire direct a power source to an AC/DC power supply. The wiring device comprises a housing, a line terminal nominally designated for receiving electrical power from a power source, a load terminal nominally designated to feed electricity to a load, a neutral terminal, a line wire electrically connected to the line terminal, a load wire electrically connected to the load terminal, and a means for controlling an amount of power delivered to the load. Embodiments of the present invention include automated universal lighting controls, dimers, timers, and wired lighting devices.
