Switching arrangement

A switching configuration includes a first switching contact set having a rated current contact piece and an arcing contact piece. The arcing contact piece and the rated current contact piece of the first switching contact set are movable relative to one another through a transmission mechanism. The arcing contact piece is supported by a support element on a contact carrier of the rated current contact piece. The transmission mechanism has a transmission mechanism chassis which is supported, particularly directly, on the contact carrier.

Provided is a gas circuit breaker that can reduce control energy smaller than that in previous double motion systems and an excessive force applied to a moveable pin to achieve a highly reliable double motion system. A gas circuit breaker has a double motion mechanism unit including a driving-side connecting rod, a driven-side connecting rod, a lever to connect the rods, and a guide to define the motion of the driving-side and driven-side connecting rods. A moveable pin extends through a first grooved cam of the driving-side conencting rod, a second grooved cam of the guide, and a third grooved cam of the lever. The driving-side connecting rod operates to move the moveable pin inside the grooved cams. Thus, the lever is rotated, the driven-side connecting rod is driven opposite to the driving-side connecting rod, and the driven-side arcing contact is driven opposite to the driving-side arcing contact.

A gas circuit breaker includes a driving side electrode having a driving side main contact and a driving side arc contact, and a driven side electrode having a driven side main contact and a driven side arc contact in a sealed tank. The driving side electrode is connected to an operation device. The driven side electrode is coupled to a bidirectional driving mechanism unit. A sliding guide, on which the driven side main contact slides, is provided on an inner periphery side of the driven side main contact. The driven side main contact is energized by a coil spring in a direction of the sliding guide and has two contact surfaces. Only during normal conduction, one of the contact surfaces contacts a projected portion of the sliding guide and the other of the contact surfaces contacts the driving side main contact.

The disclosure relates to a circuit-breaker for high-voltage applications including at least one making and breaking unit having a first contact and a second contact for forming an electrically conductive connection in a connection region, wherein the first contact has an outlet arranged distant to the connection region for insulating gas passing the connection region and through the first contact and wherein the first contact is movable along an axially extending switching axis of the circuit-breaker over a moving distance between a closed position where the electrically conductive connection is formed and an open position where the electrically conductive connection is separated; a gas compression cylinder that is motion-coupled to the first contact and which defines a cylinder volume for the insulating gas, wherein the cylinder volume is variable by means of a piston sliding in the gas compression cylinder when moving the first contact.

DUAL ACTUATION FAST MECHANICAL SWITCH

The exemplary systems, methods, and devices of the present disclosure include a dual actuation mechanical switch for a circuit breaker that includes a piezoelectric actuator that operates in conjunction with a second mechanical actuator, e.g., for a fast, compact, lightweight, and efficient DC hybrid circuit breaker. In some implementations, the exemplary dual mechanical switch can serve as the only current carrying path of the circuit breaker to minimize on-state power loss during normal operation. The exemplary system, method, and devices can facilitate needs of the emerging DC grid.
