INTRA-TANK UNDER-OIL VACUUM PRIMARY SWITCHES FOR MEDIUM VOLTAGE TRANSFORMER APPLICATIONS

A controllable primary switch for isolating a transformer from a power grid or network, wherein the controllable primary switch is mountable within and integral to the transformer and is electrically connected to high voltage feeder cables to allow the transformer to be disconnected from the power grid or network. The controllable primary switch includes one or more vacuum interrupters having first and second electrical switch contacts mounted inside the casing, actuator means for moving the second switch contact relative to the first switch contact in each of the one or more vacuum interrupters; and a handle connected to the actuator means, wherein said handle is capable of engaging the actuator means to move the second switch contact relative to the first switch contact.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AND ELECTRICAL SWITCHING APPARATUS THEREFOR

An electrical switching apparatus is for an electrical system. The electrical system has an enclosure and an electrical apparatus coupled to the enclosure. The electrical switching apparatus includes a pair of separable contacts electrically connected to the electrical apparatus, an operating handle for opening and closing the pair of separable contacts, and a support assembly having a cover and an elongated extension extending from proximate the cover to proximate the operating handle. The cover at least partially encloses the pair of separable contacts. The elongated extension is structured to be coupled to the enclosure.

QUICKLY CLOSING SWITCH ELEMENT

A switch, in particular a grounding switch, is for quickly establishing a ground connection and for extinguishing an arc fault for a switching system. The grounding switch includes at least one fixed contact having a first cable feed, a moving contact, a contact guide having a second cable feed, and a mechanical energy store. In the opened state, an insulating distance between the fixed contact and the moving contact, is filled with insulation liquid, at least in part. The switch further includes a triggering device and a locking mechanism.
