FORMULATION AND PROCESS FOR LIMITING NERVE TRAUMA
Disclosed in some forms is a process of limiting the impact of surgery on a nerve, the process comprising applying a therapeutic substance to the nerve during surgery. In some aspects, disclosed is a formulation for reducing nerve trauma comprising an active pharmacological ingredient adapted to intervene in the activation of pathways of cellular degradation within the nerve and a carrier adapted to reduce dissemination of the active pharmacological ingredient beyond the site at which its effect is intended.
Housing for mounting a container on an injection pen, assembly forming an injectable product reservoir for an injection pen and injection pen equipped with such an assembly
The housing for mounting an elongate-shaped container on an injection pen comprises an elongate-shaped body which extends along a longitudinal axis (X30) and which defines an interior volume (V32) for fully receiving the container. The body is provided, on the outside of a first axial end, with at least one first mechanical member for attaching a needle. The body is further provided, in the vicinity of a second axial end opposite the first axial end, with at least one second mechanical member for attaching the housing onto an injection pen. The housing further comprises, in the vicinity of the first axial end thereof, at least one third mechanical member for irreversibly locking a container in position, fully contained in the interior volume (V32) of the body of the housing. Said third locking member is formed by an elastically deformable tab intended to ensure locking of the container in position in the interior volume (V32) of the body of the housing, by axially retaining a flange of the container.
Drug Delivery Device with Pre-Assembled Cartridge
Disclosed in some forms is a delivery device for delivering a gel or liquid pharmaceutical to a treatment site, the delivery device including a body extending from a delivery tip, the body defining a cavity for retaining a pharmaceutical or a pre-assembled cartridge holding the pharmaceutical; and a driver for mechanically discharging the pharmaceutical from the cartridge to the delivery tip. In some forms the driver is adapted to release a consistent flow of the pharmaceutical. In some forms the delivery device is biased into a release configuration.
CARTRIDGE INSERTION FOR DRUG DELIVERY DEVICE
A method and assembly are disclosed for interfacing between a drug cartridge and a drug delivery device. Optionally, the drug delivery device includes a compartment that retains the cartridge during drug delivery and/or a stopper pushing assembly mounted to the device behind (proximal to) the compartment. In some embodiments, the cartridge may be inserted laterally into the compartment in front of the pushing assembly. For example, the delivery device may include a moving cartridge bay. The cartridge is optionally inserted into the bay and/or the bay and cartridge optionally move into the cartridge compartment. Alternatively or additionally, the cartridge compartment may have a proximal opening into which the cartridge is inserted and/or the pushing assembly may be moved into position after insertion of the cartridge. In some embodiments the cartridge may have a distal seal that is broken by a longitudinal movement.
Oral medicine dispensing system
A liquid dispensing system for oral administration comprises a dispenser and cartridges from which medicine is dispensed. Each cartridge includes a hollow shell with a septum at one end, a piston at the other end, and the medicine in a cavity between the septum and the piston. The dispenser includes receiver in which a cartridge is received, a plunger that can slide relative to the receiver and that has a plunging head that can drive the piston, and a barrel in which the cartridge, receiver and plunger can be received, at least partly. Once a cartridge has been inserted into the receiver, the receiver and cartridge are inserted into the barrel and a piercing head ruptures the septum. The plunger is pushed to drive the piston and the medicine is dispensed by the piston, through a discharge passage of the barrel.
Drug delivery devices
An arrangement of drug delivery devices is provided with interchangeable members and non-interchangeable members.
AUTO-INJECTOR AND DRIVE UNIT THEREFOR
Provided is a drive unit for an auto-injector having a drive unit housing arranged for docking receipt of a syringe or of a cassette unit comprising a syringe movable from a rest position, in which a needle tip of the syringe is within the drive unit housing to a use position, in which the needle tip protrudes from a needle delivery aperture; and a drive arrangement including one or more electrically powered sources of axial drive; a first drive transfer element for advancing the syringe to said use position; and a second drive transfer element for moving a plunger into the barrel of the syringe to eject liquid contents thereof. The drive unit housing is provided with a skin sensor arrangement having an array of plural skin sensor electrodes located about the needle delivery aperture.
MEDICATION ADMINISTERING DEVICE
A medication administering device, to which a preparation syringe containing a preparation is mounted, and which administers a preparation to a living body, and comprises a main body; a cylindrical syringe holder that is provided to the main body and into which the preparation syringe is inserted from the rear end side; a cylindrical syringe cover that supports the preparation syringe on the inner peripheral face side, and into which the preparation syringe is inserted from the distal end side; an inner case that guides the syringe cover and is removably fitted together with the syringe cover; and a distal end cap that guides the main body and is removably fitted together with the main body, and moves in conjunction with the syringe cover during attachment to the main body.
Drive Mechanism
The present invention relates to a drive mechanism for a medicament delivery device, comprising a plunger rod (54) arranged to act on a stopper (28) arranged in a medicament container (16); a compression drive spring (58) operably connected to said plunger rod (54) and capable of applying a force on said plunger rod (54); a spring guide (78) arranged coaxial with, and radially outside, said compression drive spring (58), capable of preventing buckling of said drive spring, wherein said spring guide (78) comprises a resilient force element (86) capable of applying a force on said medicament container (16).
Medicament delivery device
A dose setting mechanism for a medicament delivery device is presented having a pinion mounted to a locking member where the axis of rotation of the pinion is offset and parallel to the longitudinal axis of the housing containing the dose setting components. Primary and secondary dose members are engaged with the pinion to indicate a set dose of medicament. A resetting mechanism is also presented where nut segments are threadedly engaged with an outer surface of a lead screw when in the locked position and are disengaged from the lead screw when the nut segments are in the unlocked position.
