Injection device, in particular an auto-injector
An auto-injector includes a base housing, an ampule, a needle arrangement, at least one drive assembly and a securing assembly which secures the drive assembly in its position with respect to the base housing until activated for the injection procedure. The securing assembly includes a securing cap with a cap jacket, a cap wall and a securing pin arranged inside the cap jacket. Arranged between the securing cap and the base housing is a guide arrangement with a first and a second guide element which define an adjustment path delimited in the axial direction on the side directed away from the distal end. In its release position, the securing cap is still arranged and held on the base housing.
SYRINGE ASSEMBLY FOR A DRUG DELIVERY DEVICE AND METHOD OF ASSEMBLY
A syringe assembly for a drug delivery device. The syringe assembly includes a syringe barrel having a proximal end, a distal end, and a longitudinal axis. A needle assembly is operatively coupled to the syringe barrel and includes a needle hub and a needle attached to the needle hub. A flexible connection is disposed between the syringe barrel and the needle hub and forms a fluid pathway between the syringe barrel and the needle. The flexible connection enables the needle assembly to be moveable from a filling position, in which a longitudinal axis of the needle assembly is parallel to a longitudinal axis of the syringe barrel, to an assembled position, in which the longitudinal axis of the needle assembly is not parallel to the longitudinal axis of the syringe barrel.
DISPOSABLE SYRINGE FOR USE WITH PNEUMATIC DRIVERS
A disposable syringe for use with a pneumatic driver. The syringe has an elongated barrel with a cap secured to the proximal end that has a through bore. A filter is secured to the cap interior of the barrel that covers an opening in the through bore interior of the barrel. The pneumatic driver includes a source of pressurized air; a support for receiving and locating the syringe; and a supply block configured to receive pressurized air from the source and having an outlet for delivery of pressurized air. The supply block is movable between a first position spaced apart from the cap of the syringe and a second position in contact with the cap with fluid communication being established between the outlet of the supply block and the through-bore in the cap.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR MATING DISPOSABLE SYRINGES WITH PNEUMATIC DRIVERS WITHOUT BREAKING STERILITY
A pneumatic driver for a syringe is provided.
SELF-RIGHTING SYSTEMS AND RELATED COMPONENTS AND METHODS
Self-righting articles, such as self-righting capsules for administration to a subject, are generally provided. In some embodiments, the self-righting article may be configured such that the article may orient itself relative to a surface (e.g., a surface of a tissue of a subject). The self-righting articles described herein may comprise one or more tissue engaging surfaces configured to engage (e.g., interface with, inject into, anchor) with a surface (e.g., a surface of a tissue of a subject). In some embodiments, the self-righting article may have a particular shape and/or distribution of density (or mass) which, for example, enables the self-righting behavior of the article. In some embodiments, the self-righting article may comprise a tissue interfacing component and/or a pharmaceutical agent (e.g., for delivery of the active pharmaceutical agent to a location internal of the subject). In some cases, upon contact of the tissue with the tissue engaging surface of the article, the self-righting article may be configured to release one or more tissue interfacing components. In some cases, the tissue interfacing component is associated with a self-actuating component. For example, the self-righting article may comprise a self-actuating component configured, upon exposure to a fluid, to release the tissue interfacing component from the self-righting article. In some cases, the tissue interfacing component may comprise and/or be associated with the pharmaceutical agent (e.g., for delivery to a location internal to a subject).

Masking package for blind testing of materials stored in a syringe
A masking package (100) for blind testing of materials stored in a syringe, the masking package (100) comprising: an opaque housing (110) defining a syringe chamber (111) adapted to substantially surround a plunger and at least a portion of a barrel of a syringe; and a plunger extender (130) slidably receivable in the syringe chamber (111) and comprising a coupler (132) adapted to couple to the plunger of a syringe received in the syringe chamber (111), wherein movement of the plunger extender (130) relative to the opaque housing (110) moves the plunger of a syringe received in the syringe chamber (111) relative to the barrel of the syringe; and a masking package (200) for blind testing of materials stored in a vial, the masking package (200) comprising an opaque housing (210) defining a chamber (211) for receiving and surrounding a vial, the housing (210) having a length between an upper end and a lower end and comprising a first housing part (212) and a second housing part (214), the first and second housing parts (212, 214) being openable along the length of the housing (210) to define an opening in the chamber (211) that extends the length of the housing (210) for inserting a vial laterally into the chamber (211), wherein the housing is formed with a single piece construction.
LIQUID MEDICINE ADMINISTRATION DEVICE AND GASKET BIASING MEMBER ASSEMBLY
A liquid medicine administration device includes a prefilled syringe and a gasket biasing member assembly. The biasing member assembly includes: a gasket pressing member configured to press a gasket; a flange attachment member attached to the prefilled syringe; a biasing member housed between the pressing member and the flange attachment member; and an operating member including an engagement holding portion. The pressing member includes an engagement portion to be engaged with the flange attachment member. When the engagement holding portion is located at an abutment position, deformation of a deformable portion is inhibited by abutment between the engagement holding portion and an abutment portion of a deformable portion, and engagement between the engagement portion and the attachment member body portion is held.
ENCASED SYRINGE
An embodiment of the present invention is an encased syringe in which a prefilled syringe is accommodated in a case.
