Electromagnetic relay

An electromagnetic relay includes a fixed contact holder, a moving contact holder, an electromagnetic device, and a magnet. The fixed contact holder extends in a predetermined direction and is provided with a fixed contact. The moving contact holder also extends in the predetermined direction, and is provided with a moving contact. The magnet is arranged perpendicularly to an opening/closing direction of the fixed contact and the moving contact. A stretch space in which an arc generated between the fixed contact and the moving contact is stretched is provided, in the predetermined direction, beyond respective tips of the fixed contact holder and the moving contact holder. The stretch space also faces a surface of the fixed contact holder and a surface of the moving contact holder.

Core for a Coil

A core for a coil of a switching device includes an armature abutment section abutting an armature in a closed condition, an armature bearing section mounting the armature to the core, and a coil section receiving a coil and extending along a longitudinal axis from the armature abutment section to the armature bearing section. The coil section and at least one of the armature abutment section and the armature bearing section extend along separate planes offset from one another perpendicular to the longitudinal axis.

An electricity meter comprising an electrically-controlled electromechanical switch is disclosed. The electromechanical switch comprises a rotary actuator comprising a generally-cylindrical permanent magnet rotor having a central axis, a stator comprising a closed stator core and first and second opposite stator poles inwardly-projecting from the closed stator core towards the rotor and first and second coils wound around the first and second stator poles respectively. The electromechanical switch comprises a switch comprising at least one pair of first and second contacts wherein the first contact is movable. The electromechanical switch comprises mechanical linkage between the rotary actuator and the movable contact(s) configured such that rotation of the rotor from a first angular position to a second angular position causes the switch to be opened, and rotation from the second angular position to the first angular position causes the switch to be closed.

A yoke assembly for a magnetic switching device comprises a pair of pole faces including a first pole face and a second pole face, a first element, and a second element. The first element has a first section and a second section extending in a direction perpendicular to the first section and forming a part of the second pole face. The second element has a first section extending parallel to the first section of the first element in a mounted state. The second element forms a protrusion of the second pole face projecting beyond the second section of the first element.

The coil is configured to release a voltage configured to de-magnetize the coil, thereby causing the armature to move from the close position to the open position. The circuit is configured to provide reverse driving current to the coil during a period of time when the armature moves from the close position to the open position.

The trip assembly includes a first driving member movable linearly in a first direction and a second driving member pivotable around a pivotal support axis, where the first and second driving members are mechanically engaged with each other and move together with each other. The second driving member has two driving points configured to move in a second direction as the second driving member pivots, the second direction being non-parallel to the first direction. Movements of the two driving points of the second driving member in the second direction are operable to electrically connect or disconnect the input and output ends.

The electromagnetic relay includes a contact unit, an electromagnet, an armature unit, and a base. The contact unit includes a fixed contact and a movable spring including a movable contact. The armature unit is movable in accordance with excitation of the electromagnet to allow the movable contact to move between a closed position in contact with the fixed contact and an open position away from the fixed contact. The base holds the contact unit and the electromagnet on a certain surface side. The movable contact is placed between the base and the fixed contact in an arrangement direction in which the base and the electromagnet are arranged. The armature unit includes a press part which causes movement of the movable contact by applying a pressing force to a certain surface facing the fixed contact, of the movable spring.

A shunt trip assembly is structured to be operatively coupled to a number of circuit breakers. The shunt trip assembly includes a housing assembly and an actuating assembly. The actuating assembly includes a limited number of components. In another embodiment, the shunt trip assembly housing assembly is a substantially sealed housing assembly. In another embodiment, the shunt trip assembly housing assembly includes a single mounting panel.
