INJECTION HEAD FOR INJECTING A FLUID SUBSTANCE AND PERMITTING MONITORING OF THE INJECTION SITE BEFORE INJECTION OF THE FLUID SUBSTANCE, AND SYRINGE COMPRISING SUCH A HEAD
An injection head, for injecting a fluid substance, and a syringe comprising such a head, wherein the head has a connection body continued by a hollow tube intended to communicate with the outlet of the reservoir and having a distal end, and a needle having a pointed distal end, the head additionally comprising means for controlling the relative movement of the needle with respect to the hollow tube between a puncturing position, in which the pointed end of the needle, which is extendable in the hollow tube, protrudes from the distal end of the hollow tube, and a position for monitoring and characterizing the liquid coming from the injection site, the pointed distal end of the needle being set back from the distal end of the hollow tube in the position.
OVER-TRAVEL-FREE SYRINGE, IN PARTICULAR FOR ADMINISTERING PASTE-LIKE DENTAL COMPOSITIONS
Syringe (1) having a syringe body (5) and a proximal syringe outlet (11) in the syringe body (5) as well as having a syringe plunger (7) being axially (13) movable in the syringe body, having a proximal end and a distal end, wherein an elongate lumen (14) is formed inside the syringe plunger (7) coming from the proximal end (7a) of the syringe plunger (7) until the distal end (7b) of the syringe plunger, in which a movable inner plunger (8) having a proximal end (8a) and a distal end (8b) is arranged.
Medical device including an air evacuation system
Medical device assemblies capable of aspirating liquid into a syringe barrel or other medical devices while evacuating any air from the syringe are described. An exemplary medical device includes a syringe barrel, plunger rod and stopper assembly having an air permeable and liquid impermeable porous portion and structure for forming a vacuum within either the stopper or the plunger rod. Described is a medical device including a syringe barrel, plunger rod and stopper assembly having an air permeable and liquid impermeable porous portion and structure for forming a vacuum within chamber between the stopper and plunger rod wherein the plunger rod includes a sealing edge and is moveable relative to the stopper. Exemplary medical devices may include a vent for allowing air that permeates through the porous portion to escape to atmosphere. Methods for aspirating a syringe barrel with a liquid are also provided.
DEVICE FOR PERFORMING REGIONAL ANESTHESIA
An anesthetic administration device comprising an infusion device, which is in fluid connection with a regional anesthetic needle by means of a feed tube. The infusion device comprises one or more anesthetic flow devices capable of triggering forward flow, and optionally backward flow, of the local anesthetic through the regional anesthetic needle. Forward, and optionally backward flow, of the local anesthetic through the regional anesthetic needle is controlled by a controller that comprises one or more actuator switches. The one or more actuator switches are positioned on the device 1 such that they may be operated by hand.
INJECTOR
An injector comprises a cylindrical barrel, a movable body housed in the barrel, and a plunger coming into separable contact with the movable body. The movable body includes a main body having an outer diameter smaller than an inner diameter of the barrel, a disk-shaped seal body disposed on the main body and including an outer circumferential end brought into close contact with an inner circumferential surface of the barrel, and at least one projecting portion projecting from the main body toward the inner circumferential surface of the barrel. A distance from a central axis of the movable body to a leading end of the at least one projecting portion is smaller than a half of an outer diameter of the seal body.
Plungerless aspiration and/or injection device and method using the same
A plungerless aspiration and/or injection device and a method of using the same are disclosed herein. The plungerless aspiration and/or injection device includes a housing with an end portion extending outwardly from the housing, the end portion having an outer edge; a needle portion disposed in the housing, the needle portion including a needle tip, and the needle tip configured to be extended beyond the outer edge of the end portion of the housing; and a bulb portion disposed in the housing, the bulb portion defining a fluid containing cavity that is fluidly coupled to the needle portion, and the bulb portion being elastically deformable to perform aspiration, injection, and/or implantation on a patient. The outer edge of the end portion of the housing is configured to be pressed against a body portion of the patient prior to insertion of the needle tip so as to reduce a pain sensation.
Drive mechanism for drug delivery device
A drive mechanism for a drug delivery device, preferably for a pen-type injector, the mechanism comprises a spindle (6) movable in a first direction during a delivery step, a splined portion (5, 11) operatively coupled to the spindle (6), and retraction means (12, 15, 16, 17, 20) acting on the splined portion (5, 11) at least at the end of the delivery step. Thereby, that after the delivery step the spindle (6) and/or the splined portion (5, 11) is moved in a second direction contrary to the first direction, such that the whole drive mechanism is relieved from stresses.
