Syringe assembly including pressurized sterile air
12102804 · 2024-10-01 ·

A syringe assembly includes a barrel defining a chamber therein, pressurized sterile air in the chamber, a plunger including a piston slidable in the chamber in a sealing relation to displace a fluid in the chamber, a seal configured to retain the pressurized sterile fluid in the chamber between the piston of the plunger and the seal when the plunger is stationary, and a needle assembly extending distally from the barrel and in fluid communication with the chamber of the barrel.

Syringe Devices and Methods for Mixing and Administering Medication

The invention includes a device having a chamber within a syringe. A fluid passageway extends through a syringe piston. A valve is associated with the passageway controlling fluid passage through the piston. The invention includes a piercing structure having a head segment and a body portion, with a channel through the body portion and through at least one surface of the head without passing through the tip. In another aspect the invention encompasses a method of preparing an agent for administration to an individual. A first component is provided within a syringe and a second component is provided within a vial. A closed valve is associated with a fluid passageway between the vial and the syringe barrel through a piston. Valve repositioning allows fluid passage and sliding of the piston joins the first and second components. Repeated sliding of the piston mixes the components to produce the medication agent.

Supplemental device for attachment to an injection device

A supplemental device for attachment to an injection device including a dosage window covering a sleeve on which dose values are marked is disclosed. The supplemental device comprises a main body; an arrangement for supporting the main body of the supplemental device in a predetermined positional relationship with the injection device; a transparent protection window located at a surface of the main body that is aligned with the dosage window of the injection pen when in use; a sensor arrangement supported in the main body and having a sensor directed at the protection window; an illumination arrangement comprising one or more sources of light, each of the one or more sources of light being directed at the protection window; and a dispersing part, which may be diffusing or scattering, located on an optical path between a first one of the one or more sources of light.

Medical injection device

The present invention relates to injection devices for injecting a dose of a medicament. The injection device (100) incorporates a housing (101), a needle assembly (150) and a cover (200). The needle assembly (150) comprises an injection needle (152,153) accommodated in a needle container (151) having an opening which in a storage state of the injection device (100) is sealed by a film seal (155). The cover may include sections (201,202) arranged movable relative to the housing (101). The injection device (100) is so configured that upon movement of the cover sections (201,202) relative to the housing (101) the film seal (155) is changed from a sealing state to an unsealing state for shifting the injection device (100) into a ready-to-administer state.
