Medical devices capable of filling liquid into a syringe barrel while evacuating any air from the syringe are described. An exemplary medical device includes a syringe barrel having a tapered sidewall portion for permitting air to vent from the chamber and preventing liquid from exiting the chamber, a plunger rod, and stopper. Another exemplary medical device includes a syringe barrel having a plurality of air venting grooves associated with the sidewall of the barrel, a plunger rod and stopper. Also described is a medical device including a syringe barrel, plunger rod and stopper having a porous plug. Described is a medical device including a syringe barrel having a plurality of air venting grooves associated with the sidewall of the barrel and a porous membrane disposed over the air venting grooves, a plunger rod and stopper. Methods for filling a syringe barrel with a liquid are also provided.
Needleless pain-free injection device
A needleless pain-free injection device according to the present disclosure includes a valve body, a valve member provided in an internal space of the valve body and airtightly sliding along the valve body, a liquefied gas container communicating with the internal space of the valve body and detachably coupled, at one end thereof, to the valve body, an operating knob provided on the exposed end of the valve member, a cylinder body coupled to one side of the valve body and having an internal space, a piston member provided such that one end thereof slides in the internal space of the cylinder body and having a piston rod, an injection unit provided with an injection piston rod coupled to the piston rod, and a gas passage forming means for selectively establishing and blocking the communication of the valve body and the cylinder body with outside air.
Syringe adapter with aspiration assembly
A syringe adapter includes a housing having a first end and a second end positioned opposite the first end, with the housing including a connector body positioned at the first end of the housing and configured to be secured to a syringe barrel, a cannula positioned within the housing, with the cannula defining a transfer opening and a valve opening, a seal arrangement positioned within the housing and movable within the housing, and an aspiration assembly comprising an aspiration housing defining an aspiration opening, a filter received by the aspiration housing, and one-way valve received by the aspiration housing, where the valve opening of the cannula is positioned within the aspiration housing, and where air is configured to flow into the filter via the aspiration opening, into the one-way valve, and into the valve opening of the cannula.
Method and apparatus to reduce the deadspace in syringes and small-bore devices
Methods and apparatus to reduce deadspace in syringes and other devices with the use of volume displacing members that occupy space within one or more interior spaces of such devices. The volume displacing members are also equipped with one or more internal flow passages that facilitate a flow of a fluid through it. The volume displacing members are also adapted to cooperate with features of the devices that house them to form air-tight and liquid-tight seals that at least partially determine a fluid pathway through the devices.
Syringe Plunger With Dynamic Seal
A plunger, a syringe, system, and a method for increasing a seal between a sidewall of a plunger and a sidewall of a syringe are disclosed. The plunger includes a support ring and a cover disposed over and coupled to the support ring. A cavity defining a predetermined volume is defined between the support ring and the cover. The syringe includes a barrel defining an inner wall and the plunger inserted therein.
SYRINGE FOR INJECTING MEDICATION WITH OPENABLE AND CLOSABLE STOPPER
A syringe assembly having a barrel for storing a medication and a stopper positioned within the barrel and having an opening, the stopper separating the proximal and distal sections of the barrel. A plunger is movable axially within the barrel. A cover extends radially from the plunger, the cover movable within the barrel from an open position to a closed position, wherein in the open position the cover exposes the opening in the stopper to enable the medication to flow within the barrel from the proximal section to the distal section and in the closed position the cover covers the opening to prevent the flow of medication from the proximal to the distal section.
PEN-LIKE SYRINGE SYSTEM
A pen-like syringe system includes: a syringe holder for receiving a syringe having a syringe barrel and a plunger guided for movement in the barrel; and a drive housing connected to the syringe holder. To provide an ergonomic syringe system which allows advantageous operation of the system and guarantees safe and focused injection or drawing of a substance the drive housing includes an electric delivery device operated by an integrated power supply for applying pneumatic pressure or negative pressure to the plunger, with the delivery device connected via a drive channel to the plunger and actuatable by a button arranged on the syringe system; and the pen-like syringe system has a vent duct with a first end, which is connected to the drive channel, and a second end, which is connected to the surroundings via an opening, with the opening closable by pressing the button.
MEDICAL FLUID INJECTION AND TRANSFER DEVICES AND METHOD
A medical fluid injection device, a medical fluid transfer device and a method of administering and transferring a medical fluid are disclosed. The device and method may include a compressed gas canister in fluid communication with an expandable elastic bladder positioned within a vial of drug to provide a means to deliver drug through an injection cannula that is movable between a plurality of positions or through a transfer conduit.
FLUID CHECK VALVE AND FLUIDIC SYSTEMS FOR GAS VENTING
A fluid check-valve for venting gas from a fluidic system comprises a retention body defining a fluid aperture having an upstream side and a downstream side, a hydrophilic porous material held by the retention body and disposed to cover the fluid aperture, and a hydrophobic porous material held by the retention body and disposed to cover the fluid aperture and adjacent the hydrophilic porous material. One face of the hydrophilic porous material is in fluid communication with the upstream side of the aperture, and one face of the hydrophobic porous material is in fluid communication with the downstream side of the aperture. The hydrophilic porous material is configured to retain liquid from the upstream side to hinder passage of gas from the downstream side to the upstream side, and the hydrophobic porous material is configured to hinder passage of liquid from the upstream side to the downstream side.
