Circuit breaker, fastening assembly therefor, and associated assembly method
A fastening assembly is for a circuit breaker. The circuit breaker has a base and a bimetal. The fastening assembly includes a heater element structured to be coupled to the bimetal and the base, and a plurality of fastening members including a nut and a coupling member coupled to the nut. The nut is structured to be disposed between the heater element and the bimetal. The coupling member extends through the heater element and into the nut in order to minimize movement of the heater element with respect to the base.
Electrical switching apparatus and method of manufacturing same
An electrical switching apparatus includes a housing member, a printed circuit board assembly having a board including a first side and a second side facing away from the first side, and a barrier member coupled to each of the housing member and the first side of the board. The barrier member substantially encapsulates the first side of the board.
Surge protector, and release mechanism and base thereof
A release mechanism for surge protectors includes a first electrical connection pin soldered with a varistor's second electrode, a function rotating member sheathed on a fixed column and installed between a varistor and a bridge bracket, an elastic driving device fixed into an internal box body, and a bridge bracket fixed to a second electrical connection pin in the internal box body (2). If the varistor is not released, then the bridge bracket will be passed through a soldering window and soldered with a varistor's first electrode, or else the elastic driving device will drive the function rotating member to rotate around the fixed column. An arc shield plate shields between the bridge bracket and electrode. A failure status indicating area is exposed and a remote linkage rod is triggered.
Protective wiring device
A protective electrical wiring device including: a plurality of line terminals including a first line terminal and a second line terminal; a plurality of load terminals including a first load terminal and a second load terminal, wherein the plurality of line terminals and the plurality of load terminals are configured to be coupled to an AC electrical distribution system; a pair of contacts including a first contact and a second contact; and a latch block being configured to move between a first position and a second position, wherein in the first position the latch block permits the first line terminal and the first load terminal to be in contact with the first contact and the second line terminal and second load terminal to be in contact with the second contact, wherein, when moving from the first position to the second position, the latch block advances at least one of the first line terminal and the first load terminal away from the first contact and at least one of the second line terminal and the second load terminal away from the second contact.
Protective Wiring Device
The present invention is directed to electrical wiring device that includes: a housing including a cover and a back body, the housing further including a plurality of line terminals and a plurality of feed-through load terminals, a plurality of receptacle load terminals substantially aligned with a plurality of receptacle openings; a fault protection circuit disposed inside the housing, having sensing components mounted to one side of a first PCB, the fault protection circuit being configured to provide a fault detection signal in response to detecting at least one type of predetermined fault condition; a circuit interrupter disposed inside the housing, the circuit interrupter being configured to couple the plurality respective terminals in response to a reset stimulus being applied to a reset button, the circuit interrupter being configured to decouple the respective plurality of terminals in a second state when the latching element and a reset pin are decoupled in response to the fault detection signal; and an indication circuit having an indicator to alert the user of device status.
Electric arc extinguishing apparatus for a molded case circuit breaker
An electric arc extinguishing apparatus for a molded case circuit breaker is provided. A first set of arc splitter plates (30) directs into a first flow channel (32) a flow of gases formed during an arcing event. A second set of arc splitter plates (40) directs into a second flow channel (42) a further flow of gases formed during the arcing event. A baffle (46) establishes flow channel separation between the first and second flow channels. This arrangement provides gas flow velocity that is relatively uniform throughout the arc stack and efficiently and reliably removes heat from the hot gas flow since every arc splitter plate effectively contributes to the cooling of the gas flow. Additionally, the electric arc is efficiently blown and distributed into each of the arc splitter plate gaps, resulting in higher arc voltage and improved arc extinguishing performance.
SURGE PROTECTOR AND BASE THEREOF
A base of a surge protector, the surge protector comprising a function rotating member (3), and the function rotating member (3) having a remote linkage rod contact wall (3D) and a remote linkage notching (3H), and the base comprising a remote device, and the remote device having at least one remote linkage rod (9), and when the function rotating member (3) is situated at the first position, the remote linkage rod (9) is pressed down by the remote linkage rod contact wall (3D), and when the function rotating member (3) is rotated from the first position to the second position, the function rotating member (3) is rotated from the remote linkage rod contact wall (3D) to the remote linkage notching (3H) with respect to the point of action of the remote linkage rod (9) to release the remote linkage rod (9).
Sensor positioning and installation fixture
An apparatus for positioning and attaching one or more sensor devices to a surface of an electrical component is described. The apparatus comprises one or more sensor devices and a stencil fixture that holds at least one of the one or more sensor devices, where the stencil fixture positions the sensor at a location proximate to a surface of the electrical component prior to attaching the sensor to the surface of the electrical component.
ELECTRICAL PROTECTION DEVICE HAVING A PYROTECHNIC ACTUATION SYSTEM
A multipolar electrical protection device has a disconnecting block with separable contacts containing at least one movable contact finger, a switching mechanism able to move the contact fingers, and an electronic tripping system that drives the mechanism. The protection device has a pyrotechnic actuation system including: a pyrotechnic actuator; firing pins positioned facing the contact fingers and each able to be moved to a pressed position in which it pushes a contact finger; a motion transmission system for transforming the movement of a mobile part of the pyrotechnic actuator to the deployed position thereof into a simultaneous movement of all of the firing pins to the pressed position. The tripping system is able to activate a pyrotechnic actuator when it detects an electrical fault.
