Bit pattern sequence compressor
An electric power system may include numerous devices electrically connected to numerous other devices. In some cases, it may be beneficial to quickly determine and resolve an electric power system topology. The present disclosure is directed to systems and methods for resolving an electric power system topology using bit pattern sequence compression. A multi-node device may be electrically coupled to one node per side. Each node may be associated with a bit value. The bit values may be compared to determine if the nodes are electrically coupled. This process may be recursively performed for all of the multi-node devices, until it is determined which devices are electrically coupled and which are electrically isolated.
PROTECTIVE DEVICE HAVING A THIN CONSTRUCTION
An electrical wiring device including: a housing, a plurality of line terminals, feed-through load terminals and receptacle load terminals electrically connected to a pivotable contact structure or to a fixed contact structure comprising a conductive member having at least one contact positioned thereon, wherein in response to a make-force each pivotable contact structure is configured to perform a first pivotable movement to electrically connect each of the contacts on each pivotable contact structure to one of the contacts on a different one of the fixed contact structures in the reset state, thereby electrically connecting the terminals in the reset state; a circuit interrupting assembly including at least one breaking element being configured to perform a first linear movement in a first direction in response to a break-force in order to cause each pivotable contact structure to perform a second pivotable movement in a direction opposite the first pivotable movement to decouple each of the contacts on each pivotable contact structure from one of the contacts on a different one of the fixed contact structures thereby decoupling the terminals to effect a tripped state; and a protective electrical assembly.
Circuit breaker crossbar assembly
A circuit breaker crossbar assembly includes an elongate crossbar having a longitudinal axis, a first end and a second end, and having at least one support portion disposed therebetween. The crossbar is rotatable with respect to the longitudinal axis between a first rotational position and a second rotational position. The crossbar is coupleable to a plurality of moveable contacts of the circuit breaker. The support portion includes a first stop wall and a second stop wall defining a recess therebetween. A support structure is disposed in the recess, and comprises a support end pivotally coupled to the crossbar. The support structure has a first wall arranged to engage the first stop wall upon rotation of the crossbar toward the first rotational position, and a second wall arranged to engage the second stop wall upon rotation of the crossbar toward the second rotational position.
FRAME ASSEMBLY FOR A FRONT MOUNTED PRIMARY BUS CONNECTOR AND METHOD OF CONSTRUCTION
A front-accessible bus-connection mounting frame assembly in a draw out switchgear cabinet is fastened to the back wall of the breaker cabinet. The frame assembly provides for insertion and bayonet mounting of a primary bus connector's cylindrical conductor onto the mounting frame. The primary bus connector is bayonet mounted on the internal ribs of a central cylinder of the mounting frame assembly. The primary bus connector is then fixed in position by bolts front mounted down the central cylinder and out through a bus riser fitted at the back of the mounting frame assembly to establish electrical continuity. The central cylinder further provides a current transformer bushing tube around the primary bus connector and necessary flanges to mount the mounting frame assembly to the back wall and secure the current transformers around the bushing.
METHOD OF MANUFACTURING A CIRCUIT BREAKER AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING A BATTERY PACK INCLUDING THE CIRCUIT BREAKER
The circuit breaker is fabricated by an assembly step that makes a circuit breaker assembly with a moving contact metal plate, stationary contact metal plate, and bimetallic strip disposed in prescribed locations in an external case; and an anneal step that introduces the circuit breaker assembly made in the assembly step into an anneal oven, heats the circuit breaker assembly in the anneal oven and then cools it to anneal both the moving contact metal plate and the bimetallic strip and produce a heat-treated circuit breaker.
Angled plug-on neutral connectors, circuit breakers including same, panel boards incuding angled neutral bars, and methods of making neutral connections
An angled plug-on neutral connector assembly of a circuit breaker. Angled plug-on neutral connector assembly includes a molded case including a bottom plane and a retaining portion, and a neutral connector received and constrained in the retaining portion, the neutral connector including a connector body including first and second prongs, and an opening between the prongs configured to receive a neutral bar. The opening is oriented in an angled orientation to the bottom plane, as defined by a connector angle measured between the bottom plane and a bisector line between the first and second prongs, wherein the connector angle is between about 30 degrees and about 70 degrees. Electronic circuit breakers including the angled plug-on neutral connector assembly, panel boards including angled neutral bars, and methods of making neutral connections between angled neutral bars and angled neutral connectors of circuit breakers are provided, as are other aspects.
Electrical Switchgear Manual Safety System and Mechanisms
The disclosed invention ensures safe operation of an electrical switchgear by preventing an operator from contacting or interacting with an active circuit breaker. One way this is accomplished is through a locking system that prevents a door to the interior of the switchgear from opening until the circuit breaker is in a disengaged position. A second way this is accomplished is by a manipulation restriction system that prevents the circuit breaker from being manually moved unless the door is closed. Another way this is accomplished is by a circuit breaker decoupler, accessible from the exterior of the switchgear that can directly manipulate the circuit breaker into disengagement.
Protective device having a thin construction
The present invention is directed to an electrical wiring device that includes a circuit interrupter assembly coupled to a solenoid actuator and configured to move along an assembly axis in a direction normal to a major surface of the electrical isolation member to provide electrical continuity between the plurality of line terminals, the plurality of load terminals and the plurality of receptacle contact structures in a reset state and to interrupt the electrical continuity to effect a tripped state. The circuit interrupter assembly including at least one portion configured to pivot relative to the assembly axis to effect the reset state or the tripped state.
ELECTRICAL SWITCHING APPARATUS AND SECONDARY DISCONNECT ASSEMBLY WITH ERROR-PROOFING FEATURES THEREFOR
A secondary disconnect assembly is for electrically connecting and disconnecting accessories to an electrical switching apparatus, such as a power circuit breaker. The secondary disconnect assembly includes a terminal block assembly comprising a mounting member, at least one terminal block removably mounted on the mounting member, and at least one accessory plug structured to be removably inserted into the terminal block to be electrically connected to the terminal block. The terminal block and the accessory plug each include a plurality of error-proofing features. The error-proofing features prohibit insertion of the accessory plug into the terminal block unless the accessory plug is correctly disposed in a predetermined orientation.
