A circuit breaker includes an electrically insulative case and a rotor assembly disposed within the electrically insulative case. The rotor assembly includes a contact arm and a rotor that is rotatable relative to the electrically insulative case. The contact arm is coupled to the rotor and movable between a first position in which a conductive path is closed and a second position in which the conductive path is open. The rotor assembly also includes a latch mechanism coupled to the rotor. The latch mechanism retains the contact arm in the second position during a short circuit event. The latch mechanism is spaced from the contact arm when the contact arm is in the first position. The latch mechanism engages the contact arm when the contact arm is in the second position.

A circuit for a circuit interrupter is provided. The circuit may in include a first SCR configured to receive a first trigger signal at a gate of the first SCR, a second SCR configured to receive a second trigger signal at a gate of the second SCR, and a third SCR configured to receive a third trigger signal at a gate of the third SCR. A cathode of the first SCR may be connected to an anode of the third SCR. A cathode of the second SCR and a cathode of the third SCR may be connected to a ground. Methods of operating a circuit interrupter and a circuit are also provided.
Switching Device With Arc Extinguishing Device
A single or multiple pole switching device which includes a switch chamber with an arc extinguishing device for each pole, wherein the switch chamber has two lateral walls between which a cage is arranged that is provided for mounting a movable contact bridge, where contacts are arranged on the contact bridge, where the arc extinguishing device has a plurality of quenching plates, the ends of which are accommodated in a pocket arrangement, where the lateral walls have a support for laterally supporting the cage in a direction transverse with respect to the switching direction of the contacts and parallel to the lateral walls, where the pocket arrangement is a separate component from the cage, which pocket arrangement is spaced apart from the cage such that it does not provide such lateral support for the cage, such that a cost-effective and reliable single or multiple pole switching device is provided.
CIRCUIT BREAKER HAVING A FLOATING MOVEABLE CONTACT
A circuit breaker includes a housing, a fixed contact mounted in the housing, a pivot member arranged in the housing, and a pivoting arm moveably mounted in the housing. The pivoting arm includes a moveable contact. The pivoting arm is rotatable about and translatable relative to the pivot member to selectively engage and disengage the fixed and moveable contacts.
GROUND FAULT CIRCUIT BREAKER PROTECTOR FOR WRONG WIRING POWER-OFF PROTECTION
The present disclosure discloses a ground fault circuit breaker protector for wrong wiring power-off protection, and belongs to the technical field of ground fault circuit breaker protectors. The ground fault circuit breaker protector includes two conductors fixedly mounted inside a shell. One of the conductors is a power input end; and a line output end is electrically connected to a load output end through a transfer relay and forms the other conductor. The ground fault circuit breaker protector further includes a reset mechanism and a movement arm. By means of pressing the RESET push rod, the push rod is locked on the sliding block by the buckle; under the elastic action of the first springs and the second spring, the sliding block pushes the movement arm to contact the line output end and the load output end.
ELECTROMAGNETIC ACTUATOR AND CIRCUIT BREAKER COMPRISING SUCH AN ACTUATOR
An electromagnetic actuator including a magnetic housing, a coil that is rigidly connected to the housing and is capable of being connected to an electric circuit, a magnetic core that is arranged in the coil and can move along a central axis defined by the coil and according to the strength or the current flowing in the coil, and a shunt that is arranged in the coil and includes a magnetocaloric material the magnetisation of which is temperature-dependent. The shunt is arranged is the coil along the central axis along a length so as to create an air gap between the shunt and the magnetic core. The actuator further includes a device for attaching the shunt to the housing that are designed to adjust said the length.
Circuit interrupters with lockout feature and related methods
Circuit breakers are disclosed that include a housing with a line side and a load side, a printed circuit board in the housing, a movable contact arm with an electrical contact, a stationary line side contact, a primary trip solenoid in the housing coupled to the printed circuit board, an armature in the housing, a bimetal member in the housing adjacent the armature and adjacent the primary trip solenoid; and a lockout assembly in the housing. The lockout assembly includes a rod configured to have a first inactive position and a second lockout position. When in the second position and/or as the rod travels to the second lockout position, the rod directly or indirectly pushes the armature toward the bimetal member to physically lock out the circuit breaker to prevent conduction and separate the line side contact from the movable contact arm electrical contact.
Module for detecting an electrical fault for an electrical protection assembly and electrical protection assembly comprising such a detection module
A module for detecting an electrical fault includes a housing; a first conductor and a second conductor; a first measurement toroid, positioned around the first conductor and around the second conductor, for measuring a differential current flowing between the first and second conductors; a second measurement toroid, positioned around the first conductor, for detecting an electric arc signal flowing through this conductor; a relay; an electronic processing circuit configured to switch the relay according to the current measured by the measurement toroids. The measurement toroids are aligned with one another and the first toroid takes the shape of an elongated tube and allows the differential protection to operate with its own current.
Hybrid arc/ground fault circuit interrupter and methods of operation thereof
In one example, a hybrid circuit interrupter may include a three-coil architecture, first coil circuitry, leakage detection circuitry, and a main processing circuit including a processor. The three-coil architecture may include a coil housing, three coils, and a plurality of coil assembly conductors. The coils may be disposed within the coil housing. The coil assembly conductors may be at least partially disposed within the coil housing. The first coil circuitry may be connected to the first coil and may generate first coil signals. The leakage detection circuitry may be connected to the other two coils and may generate a leakage signal.
