A switching device including a switching unit having one or more electric poles and including, for each electric pole, a first power contact and a second power contact along which a line current can circulate and one or more solid-state switches; and a supporting frame adapted to be fixed to a supporting structure and including, for each electric pole, a third power contact and a fourth power contact along which said line current can circulate. The switching unit is reversibly movable, with respect to said supporting frame, between an insertion position and a withdrawn position. The switching unit includes, for each electric pole, at least a hydraulic circuit along which a cooling fluid can circulate to remove heat generated by said solid-state switches. The hydraulic circuit includes a first hydraulic connector and a second hydraulic connector that are coupled with or separated from a corresponding third hydraulic connector and a corresponding fourth hydraulic connector of said supporting frame, when said switching unit is in said insertion position or in said withdrawn position.

A miniature circuit breaker, which includes a circuit breaker housing, a button mechanism, and an indicating apparatus. The circuit breaker housing includes an indicating hole arranged in one side thereof, the button mechanism is in sliding fit with the circuit breaker housing, the indicating apparatus is in driving fit with the button mechanism, and when the button mechanism is pressed to switch on the miniature circuit breaker, the button mechanism drives the indicating apparatus to shield the indicating hole. The indicating apparatus thereof may indicate a switching-on state of the circuit breaker when the circuit breaker is switched on, thus improving a safety of electricity consumption.

SAFETY APPARATUS HAVING TERMINAL SHIELD WITH INDICATION CIRCUIT, AND CIRCUIT INTERRUPTION APPARATUS

A safety apparatus is a terminal shield having an indication circuit incorporated therein. The safety apparatus is usable with a circuit interrupter to overlie one or more terminals of the circuit interrupter that are connected with line and load conductors and to thereby form a circuit interrupter apparatus. The safety apparatus can be employed at the line side of a circuit interrupter, at the load side of a circuit interrupter, or at both sides of a circuit interrupter. The safety apparatus can be provided as part of a new circuit interrupter apparatus or can be provided to retrofit existing circuit interrupters. The indication circuit advantageously outputs from a top surface of the terminal shield one of a visual indication and an audible indication when one or more terminals of the circuit interrupter are electrified, thereby easily conveying to a technician the portions of the circuit interrupter that are electrified.

A circuit breaker has a first stationary contact connected to line power and a second stationary contact connected to neutral. A first moveable contact coupled to a load power terminal, is mounted on a moveable actuator and juxtaposed with the first stationary contact to form a power circuit when the first moveable and first stationary contacts are closed. A second moveable contact connected to a load neutral terminal is mounted on the moveable actuator juxtaposed with the second stationary contact to form a neutral circuit when the second moveable and second stationary contacts are closed. The movable actuator moves the first and second moveable contacts in unison to open the power circuit between the first stationary and first moveable contacts and to simultaneously open the neutral circuit between the second stationary and second moveable contacts, in response to actuation of an operating handle or to sensing a tripping event.

Ground fault modules and related circuit interrupters and methods

Plug-on ground fault modules are configured with a housing and at least one ground fault terminal. The at least one ground fault terminal can be a rigid or semi-rigid member that is configured to slidably engage a circuit breaker terminal. The modules also include aground fault circuit coupled to the ground fault terminal and at least one printed circuit board in the housing with components of the ground fault circuit including at least one solenoid assembly coupled thereto with a respective magnetized or magnetic plunger member residing on or adjacent thereto, and at least one current transformer. The modules also include at least one collar assembly residing in the housing spaced apart from the solenoid assembly and plunger member that is arranged to be able to engage a lever in the circuit interrupter to delatch the circuit interrupter.

Remote operated ground fault circuit breaker

A circuit interrupter electrically connects a line terminal to a load terminal in a closed condition and electrically disconnects the line terminal from the load terminal in the open condition. A controller includes a fault detector configured to detect a fault in an electrical signal in a load circuit, such that when a fault is detected on the load circuit, the fault detector causes actuation of the interrupter to the open condition. The controller is adapted to receive an off command, and in response to the off command, generate a simulated fault in the load circuit, such that the fault detector causes actuation of the interrupter to the open condition, such that one and the same interrupter is employed for both fault tripping and commanded tripping.
