Adjustable Dose Needleless Injector
A needle-free injector, and method of using said injector, for injecting variable, discrete doses of liquids intradermally or transdermally into a subject in need thereof, are provided. The injector comprises a barrel having a front section, an intermediate section and a rear section; and a cap having a rear end connectable to the front section of the barrel and rotatable about the front section of the barrel, the cap having a discharge end for receiving a cartridge containing the liquid to be injected, wherein rotation of the cap about a longitudinal axis of the front section of the barrel adjusts the dose of liquid to be discharged from the cartridge by the injector in iscrete dose units. A piston cap is also provided for adjusting the force of the impact of an injector piston on a plunger on the cartridge.
Substance dispensing device with signaling device
Device for dispensing a substance having: a dispensing element through which the substance can be dispensed, a displaceable protective element for the dispensing element, a drive element that is coupled with the protective element and a feedback element which can generate a signal when or after a predefined quantity or the entire quantity of the substance to be dispensed has been dispensed characterized in that the feedback device is coupled with the drive element.
Self-righting systems and related components and methods
Self-righting articles, such as self-righting capsules for administration to a subject, are generally provided. In some embodiments, the self-righting article may be configured such that the article may orient itself relative to a surface. The self-righting articles described herein may comprise one or more tissue engaging surfaces configured to engage with a surface. In some embodiments, the self-righting article may have a particular shape and/or distribution of density (or mass) which, for example, enables the self-righting behavior of the article. In some embodiments, the self-righting article may comprise a tissue interfacing component and/or a pharmaceutical agent (e.g., for delivery of the active pharmaceutical agent to a location internal of the subject). In some cases, upon contact of the tissue with the tissue engaging surface of the article, the self-righting article may be configured to release one or more tissue interfacing components.
METHODS FOR MANUFACTURING NON-GLASS PREFILLED SYRINGES
A method of sterilizing a prefilled syringe comprises assembling a syringe assembly and performing at least one ethylene oxide (EtO) sterilization procedure cycle. The assembling step includes inserting a tip cap at a first end of a plunger, filling a non-glass barrel with sterilization sensitive material at a second end of the barrel, and inserting the plunger into the barrel at a second end to seal the sterilization sensitive material within the barrel. The EtO sterilization procedure cycle comprises undergoing a preprocessing stage, a wash and conditioning stage, an EtO sterilization stage and a wash and post exposure stage. Upon completing the EtO sterilization procedure cycle, a resultant pH of the sterilization-sensitive material does not exceed an acceptable pH range as defined by the United States Pharmacopeia. The disclosure also discusses inserting an assembled prefilled syringe into a procedure tray prior to performing the EtO sterilization procedure cycle.
MULTI CHAMBER SYRINGE UNIT AND METHOD OF PREPARING A MULTI CHAMBER SYRINGE
A multi chamber syringe unit includes a longitudinal body with side wall, distal end side, proximal end side opposite to distal end side, an interior limited by side wall between distal end side and proximal end side and distal opening arranged in distal end side for providing a liquid out of the body. The syringe further includes a separating element arranged in the interior of the body such that distal chamber and proximal chamber are formed in the interior of the body, wherein the separating element seals the distal chamber from the proximal chamber. The syringe has a bypass arrangement provided in the side wall of distal chamber of the body. A first pharmaceutical liquid is arranged in distal chamber of the body and second pharmaceutical liquid in proximal chamber of the body. The multi chamber syringe unit allows for adequately administering plural pharmaceutical liquids by injection.
SYRINGE WITH MULTI-STAGE FILLING AND DISPENSING
The syringe includes a hollow body with at least one free-floating piston and a plunger within the body, with the piston between the plunger and a proximal end of the body. A manifold is provided lateral to the body. The manifold leads to an input/output tip. The manifold includes a front port located between the piston and the proximal end of the body and a rear port spaced from the proximal end of the body. The manifold includes at least one flow path leading from the input/output tip to at least one of the front port and/or the rear port. A first fluid fills a rear chamber distal to the piston and then the manifold is adjusted to fill second fluid into a front chamber proximal of the piston, and then the manifold is adjusted to allow sequential delivery of the second fluid and the first fluid.
Dose setting mechanism for priming a drug delivery device
A method and system for providing a drug delivery device. The drug delivery device comprises a dose setting mechanism comprising a spindle and a cartridge holder coupled to the dose setting mechanism. The cartridge holder comprising a cartridge having a movable bung at one end of the cartridge. The cartridge holder must be rotated before a dose may set with the dose setting mechanism.
Filtering syringe
The present invention relates to a filtering syringe, and more particularly, to an apparatus obtained by improving a syringe provided with a filter means for filtering foreign substances such as glass fragments of an ampoule, so as to prevent an injection needle or an injection flow passage from being contaminated with the foreign substances while allowing a liquid medicine to be smoothly sucked with a smaller force. The filtering syringe is configured such that the injection needle or the injection flow passage is isolated from the suction flow passage which is upstream of the filter means and in which the foreign substances may remain together with the liquid medicine, thereby allowing the liquid medicine to be sucked with a force less than that required for a conventional syringe and thus maximizing user's convenience and marketability of the syringe.
AUTOMATIC INJECTOR WITH NEEDLE COVER
An auto-injector automatically dispenses a predetermined dose of medicament upon activation. The auto-injector includes a needle cover operative to engage an injection site and activate the injector. The needle cover is configured to move from a locked retracted position prior to a medicament dispensing operation to a locked extended position after the medicament dispensing operation. The non-removable needle cover prevents contact with the needle both before and after the medicament dispensing operation.
Palm activated drug delivery device
Disclosed is a device for the parenteral delivery of a medication, such as a drug. The device includes upper and lower housings in which the upper housing is configured to move relative to the lower housing as a result of application of an external force to permit the user of the device to control the rate at which the drug is administered.
