The invention relates to a surge protection device with connection elements, an overvoltage protection device (SE1), two contact elements (K1, K2), a slide (AS), a connection plate (B) and a force accumulator (F). The two contact elements (K1, K2) and the overvoltage protection device (SE1) are encased with an electrically nonconducting material on the surface. The electrically nonconducting material leaves open a connection area (A) formed on the second contact element (K2). In a first state, the connection plate (B) is connected to the connection area (A). The slide (AS) is arranged such that it can slide on a surface of the electrically nonconducting material under the action of the force when the thermally softenable contact means softens in a second state, wherein the slide (AS) is displaced between the connection plate (B) and the connection area (A). The electrically nonconducting material is assigned a further function.

The application relates to a charging system, including a number of m chargers each adapted for providing electrical energy to charge an electrical vehicle, whereby m is an integer and m1, a number of n outlet ports each adapted for electrically connecting the electrical vehicle, whereby n is an integer and n2, and a switchable connection matrix device including a number of n outlet port switches each adapted for electrically connecting at least one of the m chargers to one of the n outlet ports and, if m>1, a number of m-1 charger switches each adapted for electrically connecting two of the m chargers, whereby the switchable connection matrix device is adapted for detecting a short-circuit between at least two outlet ports and/or for generating a fault signal if the short-circuit between at least two outlet ports is detected.

STATUS INDICATOR FOR SWITCHGEAR

A switchgear assembly includes an indicator assembly to indicate whether a movable contact is in an open or a closed position. The indicator assembly includes an indicator body having first and second sections. The indicator body is rotatable to display the first section in the open position and the second section in the closed position. The indicator assembly also includes a drive gear having a first helical spline and coupled to an actuator of the switchgear assembly such that operation of the actuator moves the drive gear, and an elongated driven gear having a second helical spline extending along a length of the driven gear and engaged with the first helical spline of the drive gear such that movement of the drive gear rotates the driven gear. The driven gear is coupled to the indicator body such that rotation of the driven gear causes rotation of the indicator body.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR COORDINATING HANDLE OPERATIONS WHILE OPERATING SOLID-STATE CIRCUIT BREAKERS

A system includes any number of solid-state circuit breakers that couple between a power supply and an electrical load. The system also includes a housing and the solid-state circuit breakers are disposed within the housing. The housing includes a door sensor that generates a first signal indicative of a position of a door of the housing. The housing also includes an indicator that generates a second signal indicative of a position of a handle of the housing. The system also includes a secondary device communicatively coupled to the solid-state circuit breakers, the door sensor, and the indicator.
