An auto injector is provided by which a fixed dose of a medicament can be injected as self-treatment, and by which needle exposure to an accessible position, injection of the medicament and retraction of the needle to an inaccessible position is automatically performed as a continuous sequence, after the auto injector is triggered. The present disclosure relates to a safety mechanism for a medicament delivery device for mechanical shock absorption, which safety mechanism has a medicament delivery member sleeve, a housing having a proximal opening arranged to receive the medicament delivery member sleeve, wherein the medicament delivery member sleeve is axially displaceable inside the housing, between an extended position in which a proximal end portion of the medicament delivery member sleeve extends proximally from the housing and a retracted position in which the proximal end portion is received by the housing, wherein the proximal end portion has a resilient structure, enabling compression of the proximal end portion in the distal direction upon impact of an axial force greater than a threshold value.
MANUFACTURING PROCESS FOR HOLLOW PLUNGER ROD
A method of manufacturing a plunger of a drug delivery device includes forming a plunger body. The method includes loading the plunger body into a cavity of a first molding tool of a molding system. The cavity is at least partially defined by a first molding portion and a second molding portion. The method includes coupling a second molding tool to the first molding tool to form a plurality of channels defined by grooves in the first and second molding tools, and injecting molten plastic into the plurality of channels to form an overmolded plunger body. The overmolded plunger body includes a head coupled to the first end of the plunger body and a foot coupled to the second end of the plunger body. The foot is at least partially coupled to the inner wall and the head is coupled to the outer wall of the plunger body.
SMART INJECTOR
A device that regulates, monitors, and provides data on the progress of a large-volume injector during its injection sequence. The device comprises an injector and a monitor assembly. The injector has a syringe having a plunger, and a biasing device that biases the plunger through the syringe. The monitor assembly comprises a resistance unit configured to resist movement of the plunger, a gear connected to the plunger by the resistance unit, and a control unit configured to monitor the position, and regulate the rotation, of the gear. Wherein linear movement of the plunger causes the gear to rotate so that the control unit generates information on the position of the plunger.
INJECTION TRAINING DEVICE AND METHOD FOR USING SAME
An injection training device is configured to simulate the tactile sensations and forces associated with the operation of a corresponding injection device. However, the injection training device does not carry the medication or a needle. The injection training device includes a plunger that is depressed to drive a rotor to rotate. A viscous fluid resists rotation of the rotor, which thereby resists depression of the plunger.
MEDICATION DELIVERY DEVICE WITH GEAR SET DOSAGE SYSTEM
A medication delivery device is disclosed including a rack-and-pinion plunger drive system. The drive system includes an output drive having a pawled end movably coupled with the ratchet teeth of the plunger, and a pinion drive coupled between the housing, the output drive and an actuator. Actuator is longitudinally movable between dose set and delivery positions. Movement of the actuator causes rotation of the pinion drive along the rack to translate the output drive member with the pawled end that is engaged with the plunger ratchet teeth to distally advance the plunger. The device may include one or more of an end of dose mechanism to limit travel of the actuator, a load brake system to stop travel of the plunger under high input forces, a dose detection system, and a dose selector to vary the amount of dose set.
