ELECTRONIC ADD-ON MODULE FOR INJECTION DEVICES
Implementations relate to an electronic add-on module releasably attachable to an injection device prior to injection, a sensor element for detecting a state or process in the injection device, a processor element for evaluating and/or processing a signal of the sensor element, and an energy store for supplying the processor element with energy. The add-on module has a first module part, which is connectable along its longitudinal axis to the injection device in an axially fixed manner by means of a holding mechanism. A second module part is movable for a damped relative movement, such as a deceleration or braking movement, by a delay stoke with respect to the first module part connected to the injection device. By damping a relative movement between two module parts, the force transmission between the add-on module and the injection device is controlled and a maximum force surge is limited to the injection device.
AUTOINJECTOR WITH A SIGNALING DEVICE
An autoinjector for dispensing a liquid product includes a housing; a product container arranged in the housing, particularly, a syringe comprising a displaceable piston; a drive member; a first spring which acts on the drive member and the piston to dispense the product from the container; signal element releasably axially coupled with the drive member so that the signal element is transported in the dispensing direction as said drive member is displaced; and a second spring, which exerts a spring force on the signal element against the dispensing direction and is tensioned as the signal element is transported in the dispensing direction. When the signal element is released or detached from the axial coupling, the second spring causes the signal element to accelerate opposite the dispensing direction and strike against a signal stop and generate an acoustic and/or tactile signal.
FORCE REDUCTION IN INJECTION DEVICES
This application relates to force reduction in injection devices. According to a first aspect, the specification describes an injection device comprising: a medicament container; a stopper translatably disposed within the medicament container; a plunger rod, the plunger rod comprising a plunger head; a drive mechanism for displacing the plunger rod into the medicament container; and a force reduction feature, wherein the plunger rod is operable to displace the stopper; and wherein the force reduction feature is arranged to damp at least a part of a plunger rod motion when the plunger rod is driven by the drive mechanism.
SHOCK ABSORBER FOR INJECTION DEVICES
The present application relates to shock absorbers for injection devices. According to a first aspect, this specification discloses an injection device comprising: a medicament container; a stopper translatably disposed within the medicament container; and a plunger rod comprising: a plunger rod body; and a shock absorber, wherein the plunger rod is operable to displace the stopper; and wherein the shock absorber contacts the stopper during displacement of the stopper by the plunger rod, thereby reducing an impact force between the plunger rod and the stopper.
Drive Train for Dial of a Torsion-Spring Assisted Wind-Up Injection Device
A drive train for a wind-up injection device, comprises a torsional energy storage adapted to be loaded or unloaded by a rotatable element, a rotatable user handle coupled with a button, a rotationally drivable expelling mechanism, and a clutch element coupled with the torsional energy storage via the rotatable element and comprising a ratchet for maintaining the rotatable element at one of a number of discrete angular positions, wherein via the rotatable element, the clutch element is adapted to transmit a torque from the user handle to the torsional energy storage or from the torsional energy storage to the expelling mechanism, and wherein the ratchet is switchable from one position to an adjacent position by a torque transmitted from the user handle to the torsional energy storage, and wherein the drive train is adapted to dampen torque peaks by a flexible impact portion in the area of the clutch element.
BI-DIRECTIONAL ROTATION RESISTANT FRICTION PAD
An assembly for advancing a piston through a rotationally fixed cartridge includes a rotatable, axially fixed first member and an axially movable, rotatable second member connected thereto via a threaded connection and connectable to the piston. A friction pad is rotationally fixedly connected with the second member and includes first and second sets of fingers extending radially outwardly from a central disk. Both the first and second sets of fingers are configured to contact an interior side wall of the cartridge. The first set of fingers are angled toward a first rotational direction and are configured to wedge the friction pad between the side wall and the second member upon rotation of the first member in the first direction, thereby substantially preventing rotation in the first direction. The second set of fingers are angled toward a second rotational direction and are configured to substantially prevent rotation in the second direction.
Auto Injector With Improved Functionality
The invention relates to an auto injector, by which a fixed dose of a medicament can be injected as self-treatment, and by which needle exposure to an accessible position, injection of the medicament and retraction of the needle to an inaccessible position is automatically performed as a continuous sequence, after the auto injector is triggered. The invention provides solutions to improve the functionality of the retraction of the needle and the general experience of the use.
INJECTION DEVICE HAVING A THREAD HAVING A VARIABLE PITCH
An autoinjector for dispensing a liquid product, in particular a highly viscous medication, includes: a housing, a product container, which is arranged in the housing and has a slidable piston, wherein the piston can be slid in a dispensing direction in order to dispense the product contained in the product container, a forward drive element, which acts on the piston as the product is being dispensed, a first spring, which is preloaded such that the product can be dispensed from the product container by the sliding of the forward drive element and the piston, and a rotation element, which is operatively coupled to the forward drive element, wherein the first spring acts on the rotation element in such a way that the rotation element is set into rotation in order to dispense the product, wherein the rotation element or the forward drive element has a thread having a variable pitch.
Autoinjector with a signaling device
An autoinjector for dispensing a liquid product includes a housing; a product container arranged in the housing, particularly, a syringe comprising a displaceable piston; a drive member; a first spring which acts on the drive member and the piston to dispense the product from the container; signal element releasably axially coupled with the drive member so that the signal element is transported in the dispensing direction as the drive member is displaced; and a second spring, which exerts a spring force on the signal element against the dispensing direction and is tensioned as the signal element is transported in the dispensing direction. When the signal element is released or detached from the axial coupling, the second spring causes the signal element to accelerate opposite the dispensing direction and strike against a signal stop and generate an acoustic and/or tactile signal.
DRUG DELIVERY DEVICE
A novel device and method for intradermal delivery of an active agent is provided. The device comprises a housing which contains a reservoir chamber. A flexible reservoir containing the active agent is placed in the chamber. Upon pressure on an actuator the active agents is delivered via a hollow needle to the skin.
