Various systems and methods for the pressure-regulated transfer of medical fluids are disclosed. The system can include an adapter assembly that connects with a medical container and with a syringe assembly. The syringe assembly can include a first reservoir and a second reservoir. In various embodiments, when the adapter assembly and the syringe assembly are coupled, the first reservoir and the container can exchange regulating fluid and the second reservoir and the container can exchange medical liquid from the medical container.

Ampule autoinjector systems and methods

An autoinjector is described that includes an outer body, a first trigger, an output needle, and a first compartment. The first compartment is positioned within the outer body and includes (i) a main body, (ii) a first biasing member coupled to the first trigger, and (iii) a protrusion positioned at a distal end of the main body. The autoinjector further includes a second compartment positioned in the outer body and in fluid communication with the first compartment and the output needle. The autoinjector also includes a second biasing member coupled to a second trigger. The first biasing member is configured to, upon application of force to the first trigger, automatically move an ampule in a distal direction relative to the main body to force the ampule against the protrusion, so as to break the ampule and allow a medicament to flow from the ampule to the second compartment.

The filtering needle cap including a distal open end in fluid communication via an internal channel with a proximal open end of the filtering needle cap. The filtering needle cap proximal end sized to receive the distal end of the hub within the proximal end of the filtering needle cap to reversibly engage the hub when needle distal end is inserted into the internal channel. The filtering needle cap including a filter element and a seal to seal around an outside diameter of the hollow needle so that liquid payload is drawn into the lumen in the hollow needle as liquid payload is filtered and drawn into the fluid fitting. The filtering needle cap is designed to limit a dead volume of liquid payload drawn into the filtering needle cap but not entering into the distal end of the hollow needle.

A freeze-dry powder injector restoring device has a cylinder, a filtering unit, and a bottom cover. The cylinder has a connecting segment having an upper opening and a cylinder body. The cylinder body and the connecting segment are respectively located in two ends of the cylinder. The cylinder body has an inner space and a lower opening connecting the inner space and the upper opening. The filtering unit is mounted in the cylinder and divides the inner space into multiple rooms. The bottom cover has a tube segment and a flange segment protruding from an outer surface of the tube segment and surrounding the tube segment. The bottom cover covers and abuts the lower opening of the cylinder via the flange segment. The freeze-dry powder accommodated in the cylinder can be easily mixed with the solvent to be restored.

An injector includes a housing having a syringe assembly and an actuating mechanism at least partially disposed within the housing. The syringe assembly includes a syringe barrel that stores a medicament to be injected into a user, a needle assembly, and a filter member disposed adjacent to the needle assembly. The actuating mechanism is operatively coupled to the syringe assembly and includes a torque spring that exerts a torque to urge the medicament through the filter member to be injected into the user. The actuating mechanism further includes a damper mechanism that exerts an opposing force to dampen the motion exerted by the torque spring.

Methods and systems for mating disposable syringes with pneumatic drivers without breaking sterility

A pneumatic driver for a syringe is provided. The syringe has an elongated barrel with a cap secured to the proximal end that has a through bore. A filter is secured to the cap interior of the barrel that covers an opening in the through bore interior of the barrel. The pneumatic driver includes a source of pressurized air; a support for receiving and locating the syringe; and a supply block configured to receive pressurized air from the source and having an outlet for delivery of pressurized air. The supply block is movable between a first position spaced apart from the cap of the syringe and a second position in contact with the cap with fluid communication being established between the outlet of the supply block and the through-bore in the cap.
