Drive mechanisms suitable for use in drug delivery devices
A drive mechanism suitable for use in drug delivery devices is disclosed. The drive mechanism may be used with injector-type drug delivery devices, such as those permitting a user to set the delivery dose. The drive mechanism may include a housing, a dose dial sleeve, and a drive sleeve. A clutch is configured to permit rotation of the drive sleeve and the dose dial sleeve with respect to the housing when the dose dial sleeve and drive sleeve are coupled through the clutch. Conversely, when the dose dial sleeve and drive sleeve are in a de-coupled state, rotation of the dose dial sleeve with respect to the housing is permitted and rotation of the drive sleeve with respect to the housing is prevented. In the de-coupled state, axial movement of the drive sleeve transfers force in a longitudinal direction for actuation of a drug delivery device.
Mixing vial
A mixing vial having a hollow interior chamber with a tubular portion having distal and proximal open ends and a stopper positioned in sealing relationship in the tubular portion, the stopper having a hollow interior chamber with an open end and a dislodgeable plug positioned in and sealing the open end.
Medical device
A medical device is disclosed, which includes: an operation reception unit; a position acquisition unit capable of acquiring position information of a detection target that is in contact with or proximity to the operation reception unit, the position information being based on a position on the operation reception unit; and a control unit that identifies an operation input by the detection target based on a change in the acquired position information.

A Drug Delivery Device
A drug delivery device includes a housing, a drug delivery mechanism within the housing and displaceable between pre-delivery and mechanical stop positions, and an end of dose switch. The end of dose switch includes a first sensor disposed on the drug delivery mechanism and a second sensor element disposed within the housing. The switch is configured to be triggered when relative movement of the first and second sensors causes the first and second sensor elements to move into a switch position. The delivery mechanism is biased in a proximal direction away from the mechanical stop position. The device includes a controller configured to: record when the end of dose switch is triggered;
measure a duration of time between triggering the switch and the first and second sensors moving out of the switch position; and generate an error code indicative of a deviation between manipulations applied and a predetermined handling scheme.
SYRINGE AND TIGHTNESS TESTING METHOD
A syringe (1) comprises a barrel (2), a stopper (3) and a plunger (4). The barrel (2) has a hollow interior, an orifice (21) and an opening (22) opposite to the orifice (21). The stopper (3) is arranged in the hollow interior of the barrel (2) thereby defining a sealed chamber (5) in the interior of the barrel (2). The stopper (3) is displaceable in the interior of the barrel (2) thereby varying a volume of the chamber (5). The plunger (4) extends through the opening (22) of the barrel (2) into the hollow interior of the barrel (2). The plunger (4) has a distal end (41) outside of the barrel (2) and a proximal end (42) inside the hollow interior of the barrel (2). The stopper (3) has a distal face (31) directed towards the plunger (4), a proximal face (32) directed towards the chamber (5) and an internal cavity (33) opening at the distal face (31). The syringe (1) is equipped with a sealing structure sealing the cavity (33) of the stopper (3) such that the cavity (33) of the stopper (3) is microbiologically sealed.
TWO-STEP AUTO-INJECTION APPARATUS
The present invention provides a two-step auto-injection apparatus consisting of a housing, a protective sleeve cylinder, a pre-filled injection assembly and a drive feedback apparatus, wherein the pre-filled injection assembly is loaded into the housing, and the protective sleeve cylinder covers a needle of the pre-filled injection assembly, so that the protective sleeve cylinder directly contacts an injecting portion and the function of injection can be realized by pressing to trigger the drive feedback apparatus during use, thereby facilitating quick operation with a needle tip hidden in the whole process; the drive feedback apparatus of a piston in a needle cylinder is driven to combine a release mechanism with an ejection mechanism and a feedback mechanism, and the release mechanism is triggered by pressing the protective sleeve cylinder, so that the ejection mechanism is released, and the ejection mechanism interacts with the feedback mechanism in a form of collision, for example, to generate a sound signal and/or a haptic signal in the moment of release for prompting a patient to begin an injection; when the ejection mechanism finishes movement, the ejection mechanism interacts again with the feedback mechanism in the form of collision, for example, to generate the sound signal and/or the haptic signal for promoting the patient to finish the injection.
Logging device for drug delivery device
An add-on logging device (100, 300) mounted to a drug delivery device is turned on when the cap is removed. After a given amount of time in inactivity the sensor means of the add-on device is turned off automatically to save energy. If the user takes a dose of drug this is not detected as the add-on device is only turned on when the cap is removed. According to the present invention a warning message is provided when the cap is re-mounted after the sensor means has been turned off automatically, the warning message indicating to a user that an expelled dose may not have been detected.
Drug delivery device
A drug delivery device that includes a housing. The housing contains a syringe, and the syringe includes a container containing a liquid medicament. The container includes an aperture at a distal end and through which the liquid medicament can be dispensed. The syringe includes a stopper within the container. The stopper is moveable between a first longitudinal position and a second longitudinal position relative to the container, to cause dispensing of the liquid medicament through the aperture. The syringe includes at least one identifying means identifying the liquid medicament.
Injection device
Apparatuses and methods for delivering a fluid, including a viscous fluid. These apparatuses may include a fluid reservoir, two or more piston chambers, a manifold, a delivery port, and a drive assembly and may be configured to inject either a predetermined amount of fluid or a continuous stream of fluid. These apparatuses may also be configured to switch between filling, injection and aspiration modes. These apparatuses may generally be hand-held and lightweight and may provide a significant mechanical advantage to the user.
