Injection device

An injection device is described. The injection device includes a stopper having a first conductive element, a barrel having a medicament reservoir sealed at a proximal end with the stopper, and a plunger rod having a second conductive element. The plunger rod is coupled with the stopper to cause forward axial movement of the stopper to expel a medicament from the medicament reservoir. The first conductive element and the second conductive element complete an electrical circuit when the plunger rod is coupled to the stopper.

The invention provides a syringe assembly comprising a syringe barrel having an inside surface defining a chamber, an open proximal end, and a distal end having an opening therethrough. An elongated plunger rod extends between a first end and a second end, with a cap or guard disposed on the first end of the plunger rod. A plunger head extends within the chamber of the syringe barrel, and is adapted for slidable movement within the syringe barrel between the proximal end and the distal end, with the second end of the plunger rod connected with the plunger head through a pivotable connection. The plunger rod is adapted to pivot with respect to the plunger head between a first position in which the guard is adjacent the distal end of the syringe barrel and a second position in which the plunger rod is in general axial alignment with the syringe barrel, and is further adapted for axial movement so as to cause sliding movement of the plunger head through the syringe barrel to expel contents thereof.

A device or arrangement for a carpule for a dental syringe permits the harpoon on the distal end of the plunger rod to engage the rubber or rubber-like plug or piston of the carpule, but blocks the piston from being pulled out the open proximal end of the tubular glass body of the carpule. A preferred version has an apertured cap that fits onto the proximal end of the carpule, a retaining neck ring that fits onto the penetrable seal at the proximal end of the carpule, and a bar connecting them. The bar also serves as a grip to assist in handling the carpule.

Safety syringe for needleless injector

A disposable syringe for use in a needleless injector includes a tubular body with an open rear end, a closed front end containing an injection orifice, a chamber in the body for receiving a liquid and a plunger slidable in the chamber for pushing the liquid out of the orifice. A tip is provided on the inner end of the plunger for separation from the remainder of the plunger to block the orifice when the plunger is retracted after an injection, whereby the syringe cannot be re-used.

Prefilled retractable syringe, plunger and needle assembly

A retractable syringe, plunger and releasable needle assembly including a retractable needle, a needle seal, a retaining member and an ejector member. The retaining member has a mating surface for mounting to a complementary mating surface of an interior wall of a syringe barrel. The plunger comprises a plunger outer, a plunger rod frangibly connected to a controlling member, a spring and a unitary plunger seal capable of engaging the retractable needle, wherein the plunger rod, plunger outer and the controlling member co-operate to releasably maintain the spring in an initially compressed state. After delivery of fluid contents of the syringe, the plunger forces the ejector member to release the retractable needle from the retaining member. Decompression of the spring at the end of depression of the plunger facilitates retraction of the retractable needle when engaged with the unitary plunger seal.

Single-use syringe

The present invention relates to a single-use syringe comprising a barrel (10) having an internal surface defining a chamber for retaining a fluid, a plunger (1) formed by an elongated body including a plurality of longitudinal fins (2) and optionally a piston (3) connected to the end of the plunger close to the needle, the external surface of the piston or of the end of the plunger in the case of not including a piston being in leak-tight connection with the internal surface of the barrel, where the barrel has a general external shape of a cylinder of revolution with a constant radius circular base and a variable internal shape, forming the wall of the barrel with variable thickness, generating a chamber inside which a plunger incorporating a plurality of fins (2) slides; each of the longitudinal fins (2) of the plunger has a constant height along its entire length but different from that of at least one of the other fins, which height is suitable in each fin so that the plunger (1) can be inserted tightly without the capability of rotating about itself through the space defined by the variable internal radius of the barrel; the length of at least one of the fins is also different from the length of at least one of the other fins so that the plunger includes a weakened area in the form of a hole at the end of the plunger close to the needle; the barrel further comprises at least two grooves in the internal face of the barrel, at least one being located in the distal part (8) and at least one in the proximal part (9) of the barrel with respect to the needle.

Disclosed is a self-destructing syringe, comprising an outer casing, a core bar, a piston, a conical head component, a syringe needle and a protecting jacket. The syringe needle is fixed in the conical head component, and the conical head component consists of a threaded conical head, a sealing ring, a transition part and a hollow wedge. The protecting jacket is put around the syringe needle and is movably connected to the needle base of the syringe needle; the conical head component is fixed in the inner cavity at the front end of the outer casing; the piston is installed on the core bar; the main part of the core bar is sheathed inside the outer casing; and the front end of the core bar is inserted into the conical head component and is able to make the syringe needle return inside the outer casing.

Method of sealing a syringe barrel

Disclosed is a method of sealing a syringe barrel having a syringe tip with a collar. The syringe tip is sealed with a resilient closure. A tamper evident syringe tip cap comprising a cap member and a sleeve member separated by an annular first breaking line is then pushed over the resilient closure, to couple the proximal end of the sleeve member with the collar. The distal end of the resilient closure is accommodated in the cap member and protrudes beyond the sleeve member. The first breaking line is bridged by a coupling strip. For use of the syringe and providing access to the closure, the first breaking line is broken by pivoting the cap member away. The sleeve member remains coupled to the collar. Further tearing the cap member downward causes breaking a second breaking line provided in the sleeve member, thereby enabling removing the entire syringe tip cap.
