Method and system for drug delivery
There is provided in accordance with an exemplary embodiment of the invention, a device and a method for controlled extraction of at least one active substance from at least one type of plant matter by application of heat, the device comprising: a heating element adapted to apply heat to an area of the plant matter to extract the substance; and a mechanism adapted for moving the plant matter relative to the heating element. Optionally, the active substance is a restricted substance. There is also provided in accordance with an exemplary embodiment of the invention, a method of monitoring and controlling inhalation of a restricted substance. There is provided in accordance with an exemplary embodiment of the invention, a method of manufacturing a tape of plant matter comprising an active substance.
SPACER DEVICE WITH FLOW RATE SPIROMETER
The present invention provides a spacer device having a flow rate spirometer. The flow rate indicator allows users to use a measured, consistent flow rate leading to improved synchronicity and actuation.
FILTERING PIPE SMOKE
A smoking pipe has a a combustion bowl, a mouthpiece, and an inhalation conduit. An inhalation check valve is connected to the inhalation conduit and positioned between the bowl and the mouthpiece, oriented to pass smoke of combustion in one direction from the bowl to the mouthpiece. An exhalation check valve is positioned between the mouthpiece and the atmosphere, and is oriented to pass exhalation in one direction from the mouthpiece to the atmosphere. A body is partially fillable to retain water, and the inhalation conduit passes from the bowl into the body and extends to an upper area inside the body, and then turns to extend towards a lower area inside the body, terminating in an open end. The inhalation conduit has a second portion that has an opening in the upper inner area and extends to the inhalation check valve.
VAPOR MEDICINE DISPENSING AND NANO-MIST LUNG CLEANSER SYSTEM WITH NASAL ADAPTER
A system, accompanying apparatuses and methods relating to an oral, nasal or propellant enhanced mist delivery, drug delivery and lung cleansing apparatuses and having for an object to provide a safe and harmless means for and method of delivering medication with heated, moist, flavored air; or by inhaling warm medication like methanol into the lungs in case of a respiratory ailment under direction of a physician. Additionally, all state of the art medicines are envisioned for delivery with the system.
SECURELY ATTACHING CARTRIDGES FOR VAPORIZER DEVICES
Systems and methods to generate an inhalable vapor in an electronic vaporization device. Described herein are cartridges including a vaporizable material that may be securely connected to a rechargeable base unit.
FLUID DISPENSING DEVICE
The disclosure relates to a fluid dispensing device including a housing, a mechanical biasing member, a closure, and a safety arrangement. The housing is configured to accommodate at least a portion of a spray delivery device and an outlet through which the fluid stored in the spray delivery device can be discharged. The mechanical biasing member is reversibly transferable between a pre-loaded state and an unloaded state and configured to store mechanical energy in the pre-loaded state effective to produce a spray discharge of the spray delivery device. The closure is fixable to the housing and movable relative to the housing between a closed position and an open position, wherein when in the open position the container of the spray delivery device is accessible from outside the housing. The movement of the closure is controlled by the safety arrangement.
Breath-enhanced jet nebulizer
A breath-enhanced jet nebulizer is configured with a low liquid retention reservoir and a narrow liquid delivery passage to efficiently and efficiently aerosolize small drug volumes with minimal waste. Aerosol particles are directed through aerosol passage for delivery, although larger liquid particles are directed away from the aerosol outlet and recycled to the liquid reservoir.
Positive expiratory pressure devices with flutter valve
A positive pressure airway device for providing resistance in an air pathway for a patient exhaling. The device includes a central tube region, a inspiratory air passageway for passing air into the central tube region when a patient breathing through the device inhales, and an expiratory air passageway for passing air out of the central tube region when a patient breathing through the device exhales, A valve in the expiratory air passageway allows air to flow out only when a patient using the device exhales with an expiratory air pressure greater than a selected pressure, and includes a stopper and a coil spring with an interior portion that is free from any structure that would inhibit the “side-to-side” movement of the spring within the housing. The stopper has a cone-shaped air-stopping surface providing a valve angle that is different from the valve-seat angle so that either laminar or oscillating flow may be obtained.
Systems and methods of aerosol delivery with airflow regulation
An example aerosol delivery device includes a mouthpiece having an airflow outlet, and an airflow passage extending between an airflow inlet and the airflow outlet. The example aerosol delivery device further includes a housing configured to receive a cartridge that includes an aerosolizable substance and a vapor element configured to heat the aerosolizable substance, and an internal power source configured to provide electrical power. The example aerosol delivery device further includes a controller coupled to the internal power source to receive a portion of the electrical power and configured to, when the cartridge is installed at the housing, cause the vapor element of the cartridge to heat the aerosolizable substance to release an aerosol into the airflow passage during an inhalation through the airflow outlet, and a connector configured to receive power from an external source to recharge the internal power source.
CONTAMINATION FREE LIQUID-SPRAY DISPENSING APPARATUS AND METHOD OF USE
The present invention is a fluid dispensing apparatus, and method of use, e.g. for mouthwash and medicine, for dispensing a sterile liquid in single doses to prevent bacterial growth from un-used portions pored back into the apparatus. The apparatus has a hollow flexible cap enclosure surrounding a one-way valve inside of a bladder and a push rubber surface for liquid release. When the cap is removed, both the container body and the cap remain sealed from exposure to contaminates. Liquid is first dispensed from the container by inverting the container until a quantity of sterile liquid collects in the cap. The container is then positioned in an upright position and the fluid filled cap is removed from the container. The cap is then inverted again and a pushbutton pressed to dispense sterile liquid from a cap spray nozzle without requiring the user's lips to touch the cap.
