Multi-purpose electronic switch
A multi-purpose electronic switch is disclosed herein. The multi-purpose electronic switch includes a housing having a front and a back and defining an internal volume, a switch having a default position and movable to a first position and a second position from the default position. The switch can receive a press-button input by moving from the default position to one of the first and second positions. The multi-purpose electronic switch can include a display located on the switch, and a plurality of sensors located within the internal volume of the housing. The plurality of sensors can detect a swipe input across the front of the housing. The multi-purpose electronic switch can include a processor that can control the display to generate images representing a plurality of menu items and settings within the menu items and receive inputs selecting menu items.
Apparatus and method for use in different ambient lighting conditions
An apparatus comprises: an artificial visible light source (8); a layer of photochromic material (2) overlying the artificial light source (8); a layer of opaque material (4) overlying the layer of photochromic material; and one or more apertures (6) through the layer of opaque material (4). The apparatus and a method providing the apparatus are used in different ambient lighting conditions.
Gesture-based flash
Examples of performing an update of a display device are described. In some implementations, user gesture data may be received in response to a user gesture being performed on a touch sensitive surface of the display device. In response to determining that the user gesture data is unrecognized, performing one or more default actions, including performing an update of the display device. The update may include performing a flash of the display device. The user gesture data may be associated with the one or more actions automatically or in response to the user providing input to associate the user gesture data with the one or more actions. The user gesture and the associated one or more actions may be stored such that the update of the display device may be performed when the user gesture is subsequently performed.
