Key structure

A key structure, including a keycap, a scissor component, an elastomer, an optical switch, a shading portion, and a circuit board, is provided. The scissor component is formed of a first and a second supporter. The circuit board has two first and two second limiting units. The keycap has two third and two fourth limiting units. The first supporter is rotatably or slidably connected to the first and the third limiting units. The second supporter is rotatably or slidably connected to the second and the fourth limiting units. The keycap is disposed on the circuit board through the scissor component. The elastomer is interposed between the circuit board and the keycap. The optical switch includes an emitter and a receiver. The shading portion is disposed on the first or the second supporter to block a light signal transmitted between the emitter and the receiver.

A back light module is applied to a lighting keyboard with a plurality of keyswitches and includes a lighting unit, a light guide plate, a light penetrating membrane, a light calibration layer and an adhering component. The light guide plate has an opening used to accommodate the lighting unit. The light penetrating membrane is located on the light guide plate. The light penetrating membrane is located on the light penetrating membrane and has a second contour. The adhering component is located between the light guide plate and the light penetrating membrane, and has a first contour greater than the second contour. The adhering component includes a front region, a rear region and a hollow region. The front region is covered by the light calibration layer. The rear region is partly covered or not covered by the light calibration layer. The hollow region corresponds to and is larger than the opening.

Control device having buttons with metallic surfaces and backlit indicia

The control device includes a button having a backlit indicium (or indicia) indicating a function of the button. The button may comprise a button body that is translucent and configured to be backlit by a lighting element. A front surface of the button body may be opaque outside of the area of the indicium (or indicia). The button body may have a post that extends from a rear surface of the button body and is aligned with an actuator. The control device may have a plurality of such buttons. Selection of a button by a user, such as by pressing the button, results in the selected button displaying a greater illumination intensity than a button that is not selected.

Key structure

A key structure includes a keycap, a connection assembly, engaging members, and a base plate. The connection assembly disposed between the base plate and the keycap is movably connected to the keycap and the engaging members, so that the keycap and the connection assembly engaged with the engaging members are positioned on the base plate. The base plate includes engaging protrusions protruding from an upper surface, so that the engaging members are bonded to the base plate through the engaging protrusions. Each engaging protrusion is located between two openings of the base plate, connects the two openings, or is disposed corresponding to the openings. Each engaging member covers one or more engaging protrusions through injection molding, and is fixed to the base plate. The engaging members are respectively disposed on the openings, fill the openings, or completely cover the engaging protrusions.

In embodiments, the electrical switch may include a tactile switch arranged proximate a rear surface of the light pipe, such that the tactile switch can be activated by an application of rearward pressure to the cover.

A keyboard backlight module includes a light guide plate, a reflector, a light-emitting device and a first microstructure. The light guide plate has an output surface, a light guide pattern and a bottom surface disposed on an opposite side of the output surface. The light guide pattern is arranged on at least one of the bottom surface and the output surface. The reflector has a reflecting surface facing the bottom surface. The light-emitting device is disposed on one side of the light guide plate and configured to provide an incident light to the reflecting surface. The first microstructure is disposed on the reflecting surface, at least partially overlaps with the light guide pattern, and is configured to transform the incident light into a first reflected light.

A control device for controlling power delivered to an electrical load may illuminate an area around a button of the control device, such as a gap formed between the button and an opening of a faceplate of the control device. The control device may illuminate the gap to provide a nightlight feature, to provide feedback (e.g., a status of the electrical load), and/or to indicate a selected preset. The button may have a cap portion that may be actuated by a user and a diffuser portion that may contact a rear surface of the cap portion and may conduct light emitted by an internal light source to illuminate the gap around the button.

The controller can be operable to detect tactile contact of each of the plurality of tactile-sensitive buttons, receive status information associated with a video game, and adjust the spectrum of light emitted by at least a portion of the plurality of light sources according to the status information to indicate one or more aspects of the video game.
