Apparatus and method of backlighting through a cover on the apparatus

A keyboard apparatus includes a fabric key cover having a plurality of holes that extend through a thickness of the cover from a top side of the cover to a bottom side of the cover. The plurality of holes are arranged to collectively form a predetermined shape. A mask layer is disposed at the bottom side of the cover. A first region of the mask layer is opaque and a second region of the mask layer allows light to pass therethrough to the plurality of holes. A light source is disposed beneath the mask layer and positioned such that light emitted from the light source passes through the second region of the mask layer to the plurality of holes. A sensory contact terminal is disposed beneath the mask layer, and the terminal detects a keystroke movement.

PRODUCT AND PACKAGE INCLUDING POWER PRODUCER AND OUTPUT MECHANISM, AND RELATED METHOD

A promotional product including an emitter is provided. One or more tobacco-containing articles may be received in the package. The promotional product may include an actuator for facilitating delivery of power from a power source to the emitter to provide a visual, audio, and/or haptic effect to the promotional product. A luminous membrane keyboard includes a substrate, a membrane switch assembly, a key, and an LED module. The substrate has a feature hole. The membrane switch assembly is superposed on one side of the substrate. The key is disposed over the substrate and has a key cap cloaking the feature holes. The membrane switch assembly is located between the substrate and the key cap. The LED module includes a circuit board and a micro LED chip disposed on the circuit board corresponding to the key. The circuit board is superposed on another side of the substrate. The micro LED chip is arranged to correspond to the feature holes. Thereby, the volume of a luminous membrane keyboard can be reduced.

A luminous keyboard includes plural key structures, a switch circuit board, a supporting plate, a backlight module and plural ring-shaped structures. The switch circuit board is located under the keycaps of the key structures. The supporting plate is located under the switch circuit board and connected with the key structures. The backlight module is located under the supporting plate. The backlight module generates a light beam. The plural ring-shaped structure are disposed on the switch circuit board and arranged around the corresponding key structures. When the light beam is reflected by the key structures, the light beam is received by the plural ring-shaped structure. Due to the material properties of the ring-shaped structures, the periphery regions of the keycaps generate a uniform luminous effect.

Vehicle keypad formed in a window

A vehicle capacitive key input pad assembly includes a pad comprising a region defining an illuminated character. The assembly also includes a first electrode having electrode fingers and extending at least partially around the illuminated character region, and a second electrode having electrode fingers and at least partially extending into the character region. One or more electrode fingers trace a portion of the illuminated character.
