Modular electrical wiring device system
The present invention is directed to an electrical wiring system having a frame assembly that includes a frame opening at a central portion thereof. The frame opening provides access to the interior of the device wall box. At least one electrical wiring device is configured to snap into the frame opening such that the interior of the device wall box is completely enclosed by the frame assembly and the at least one electrical wiring device such that access to wiring disposed within the device wall box is substantially prevented. The at least one electrical wiring device includes at least one user-interface. An aesthetic overlay may be coupled to the frame assembly. The aesthetic overlay includes an overlay opening configured to accommodate the at least one user-interface such that the at least one user-interface is accessible to a user.
Key module
A key module including a base, a circuit layer, at least one light-transmission key body, and a display panel is provided. The circuit layer is disposed at the base and has at least one input portion. The light-transmission key body has an abutting end and a pressing end opposite to each other. The abutting end abuts the base, and the light-transmission key body is adapted to be pressed downward by taking the abutting end as a rotation axis, such that the pressing end presses the input portion. The display panel is disposed at the base and has at least one display region, the display region is aligned with the light-transmission key body, and an image displayed on the display region by the display panel is changeable.

A veneer may be configured to be secured to a backlit button of a control device. A plate portion of the veneer may have one or more indicia machined therethrough. The indicia may define an open portion, a floating portion, and one or more ribs that suspend the floating portion. The one or more ribs may be configured to create an optical illusion that conceals the ribs from view relative to a user of the control device. The rib may define an upper surface that is recessed relative to a front surface of the veneer, and may define opposed sides that extend from a base of the rib to the upper surface. The sides may be tapered between the base and the upper surface, such that the upper surface is narrower than the base. The sides and the upper surface of the rib may be unfinished.
EXTENDING THE BATTERY LIFE OF A KEYBOARD DEVICE COUPLED TO A DUAL-DISPLAY COMPUTING DEVICE
In some embodiments, a keyboard may comprise internal light sources to backlight keycaps. In addition, the keyboard may provide one or more unobstructed paths for light from an external light source located beneath the keyboard to reach the keycaps. When the keyboard is placed onto the external light source, the keycaps within the keyboard may be illuminated from the external light source. When the keyboard is placed on a display device of a dual-display computing device, one display device may be used to present text and images to a user while the other display device provides backlighting for the keyboard. Software may manage the image shown on the display device located under the keyboard device to alter the appearance of the keycaps. The keyboard battery life may be extended by disabling key backlights within the keyboard when the dual-display computing device provide the backlight.
