INHALER DEVICE FOR INHALABLE LIQUIDS
20210113786 · 2021-04-22 ·

An inhaler device includes a sealed elongated body having air inlet and mouthpiece ends, a first end-seal sealing the air inlet end, a second end-seal sealing the mouthpiece end, and passive evaporation support material pre-loaded with methoxyflurane liquid. As the methoxyflurane liquid forms a vapor, the elongated body forms a vapor chamber such that the stored vapor is available for direct administration upon opening the first and second end-seals. The first end-seal is a resealable, adjustable end cap with an air inlet groove or hole that forms an air inlet opening when opened such that the air inlet's size is adjustable. The second end-seal is a resealable, adjustable end cap including a mouthpiece chamber configured such that when closed the vapor chamber is sealed from the mouthpiece chamber and when open vapor flows radially inward into the mouthpiece chamber through vents located in a side wall of the mouthpiece chamber.

An inhaler device for the delivery of an inhalable liquid to a patient includes an inhaler body, at least one air inlet opening, at least one vapor inhalation opening, and a storage sachet located within the inhaler body. The storage sachet includes a vapor impermeable film or foil for sealingly storing a passive evaporation support material pre-loaded with the inhalable liquid. The stored liquid is configured to be released from the storage sachet into the inhaler body in the form of a vapor when the sachet is opened and further wherein the air inlet opening and vapor inhalation opening provide an air/vapor pathway through the inhaler body. The storage sachet includes a pull tab that protrudes through an opening in the inhaler body and configured such that the pull tab can be gripped and pulled by the user to open the storage sachet.

Monitor for a medicament inhaler

Adherence monitors are disclosed, incorporating cap removal sensors together with a determined time period in order to determine that a dose of medicament has been dispensed. In another form, cap removal data is combined with acoustic data to determine that a dose of medicament has been dispensed. Several specific structural arrangements are also disclosed.

A dry powder inhaler consisting of a reusable base unit and a disposable drug package is disclosed. The reusable portion may house a transducer, a controller, battery and user interface. The disposable portion may house a dose pellet in a sealed dose chamber that includes an integrated mouthpiece. A user may couple the disposable portion to the reusable portion of the inhaler. The inhaler may sense the user's breathe and synchronize delivery of the pharmaceutical or drug to the user.

Aerosol generating apparatus with replaceable parts

An aerosol generating apparatus includes a vial, a cap assembly and a receptacle. The vial stores liquid medicament and includes a puncturable seal held in position by a retaining ring. The cap assembly includes an actuator with an interior bore extending therethrough, a perforated membrane coupled to the actuator, a fastener and a first mating element. The fastener is adapted to detachably secure the cap assembly to the vial such that the perforated membrane aligns with the puncturable seal. The receptacle receives the cap assembly with the vial. The receptacle includes a driving element and a second mating element capable of mating with the first mating element. The driving element aligns and communicates with the perforated membrane when the receptacle engages the cap assembly. The actuator pierces the puncturable seal to displace the liquid medicament through the interior bore to the perforated membrane and the driving element to generate aerosol.

Dry powder inhaler dose counters

Dry powder inhaler dose counters capable of making a display move swiftly between digits. In contrast to the progressive movement that occurs in simple gearing mechanisms, there is provided a dry powder inhalation device comprising a housing defining a chamber, a patient port in communication with said chamber, an elongate carrier carrying medicament, an advancement mechanism for advancing a length of the elongate carrier into the chamber, a displacement sensor that advances in association with continuous advancement of the elongate carrier, and a transfer component that converts the advancement of the displacement sensor into intermittent motion of a units dose display.
