The device comprises two flexible substrates and a membrane located between the two flexible substrates, and the two flexible substrates being connected at two opposing edges and unconnected at two further opposing edges. An active agent provided on the membrane may be inhaled by a user when the device is in the second configuration. A method of using the device is also provided.
DEVICE FOR DISPENSING A FLUID PRODUCT
A fluid dispenser device having a dispenser head; an air expeller; and a reservoir containing a single dose of fluid. The reservoir includes a proximal axial end and a distal axial end, and is removably mounted so that after the device has been actuated, the empty reservoir can be removed from the device and replaced by a new full reservoir. The air expeller is adapted to return to its rest position to enable a new actuation with the new full reservoir. The dispenser head includes a proximal perforator tip to perforate the proximal axial end of the reservoir. The device includes a movable perforator member that slides axially around the dispenser head between a loading position and an actuation position and includes a distal perforator tip adapted to perforate the distal axial end of the reservoir when the movable perforator member is moved into its actuation position.
MEDICINE STORAGE CARTRIDGE WITH NOZZLE, SPRAYER THEREFOR, AND POWDERED MEDICINE DISPENSING DEVICE FOR NASAL CAVITY
A nozzled cartridge (20) for storing medicine, according to an aspect of the present application, includes a medicine container (21) that is to be filled with a predetermined quantity of a powdered medicine, a nozzle portion (22) that is formed on the medicine container (21) and that ejects the powdered medicine, a closing member (24) that closes an opening (22a) in the nozzle portion (22), and a valve member (25) that functions as a plug to close another opening (23a) in the medicine container (21), and that is opened when administering medicine. The nozzled cartridge (20) is detachably mountable to a sprayer (30) when administering medicine.
FLUID PERMEABLE HEATER ASSEMBLY FOR AN AEROSOL-GENERATING SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ASSEMBLING A FLUID PERMEABLE HEATER FOR AN AEROSOL-GENERATING SYSTEM
A cartridge for an aerosol-generating system is provided, including: a liquid storage portion including a housing containing a liquid aerosol-forming substrate, the housing having an open end; and a fluid-permeable heater assembly including: an electrical heating element configured to heat the liquid aerosol-forming substrate to form an aerosol, the electrical heating element including a planar filament arrangement having one or more electrically conductive filaments, an electrically insulating substrate including a ceramic material and having a planar attachment face, the filament arrangement disposed in contact with the planar attachment face, and connectors arranged at opposite ends of the electrical heating element and forming two separate electrical contacts configured to apply power to the filament arrangement, the fluid-permeable heater assembly being arranged over the open end of the housing.
Apparatus and method for providing aerosolized powder delivery
An apparatus for aerosolized powder delivery includes first and second chambers containing gas at first and second pressures, respectively, above atmospheric pressure. A powder is contained within the first or second chamber. The first chamber has a first external wall and a separating wall shared with the second chamber. The first external wall or the separating wall is configured to rupture if the pressure difference across it becomes equal to or greater than a threshold pressure difference. Specifically, the apparatus is configured so that the difference between the second pressure and atmospheric pressure is greater than the threshold pressure difference. Initially, the difference between the second and first pressures is less than the pressure difference required to rupture the separating wall, and the difference between the first pressure and atmospheric pressure is less than the pressure difference required to rupture the first external wall.
Dry powder inhaler and system for drug delivery
A breath-powered, dry powder inhaler, a cartridge, and a pulmonary drug delivery system are provided. The dry powder inhaler can be provided with or without a unit dose cartridge for using with the inhaler. The inhaler and/or cartridge can be provided with a drug delivery formulation comprising, for example, a diketopiperazine and an active ingredient, including, peptides and proteins such as insulin and glucagon-like peptide 1 for the treatment of diabetes and/or obesity. The dry powder inhaler is compact; can be provided in various shapes and sizes, colors, and comprises a housing, a mouthpiece, a cartridge placement area, and a mechanism for opening and closing the medicament cartridge. The device is easy to manufacture, provides a pre-metered single unit dose, it is relatively easy to use, and can be reusable or disposable.
Inhalation Device
The present invention provides for the integration of drug dispersion methods into a drug or medicine delivery system. The drug dispersion methods used include shear (e.g., air across a drug, with or without a gas assist), capillary flow or a venturi effect, mechanical means such as spinning, vibration, or impaction, and turbulence (e.g., using mesh screens, or restrictions in the air path). These methods of drug dispersion allow for all of the drug in the system to be released, allowing control of the dosage size. These methods also provide for drug metering, fluidization, entrainment, deaggragation and deagglomeration. The present invention also provides for the integration of a drug sealing system into the device. The drug sealing system provides a way of blocking the migration of drug from one area of the package to another. The drug seal system can also provide a method of tightly containing the drug until the package is opened, of directing airflow through the package and of managing and containing the drug during the package/device manufacturing process.
Single-Dose Powder-Medication Inhaler
The present invention provides a single-dose powder-medication inhaler (10) for nasal application, comprising a flat inhaler housing consisting of two flat housing parts (1, 2) connected to one another along a connecting plane (E). Formed in the two flat housing parts are: a medication chamber (11) having at least one powder receiving hollow (11); an air inlet opening (14); and an air channel delimited by walls (7), the air channel extending from the air inlet opening (14), via the medication chamber (11) to a discharge opening (12). According to the invention the air inlet opening (14) does not lie on a side facing away from the discharge opening (12), whereby the air channel provides a direction change of an air flow through the air inlet opening (14) relative to the discharge opening (12). The outlet section (13) of the air channel between the medication chamber (11) and the discharge opening (12) has more than one bend (6). Furthermore a nose piece (4), designed for inserting in only one nostril or in both nostrils, is formed on the discharge opening (12).
DRY POWDER INHALER COMPRISING A CASING WITH A FIRST CASING PORTION AND A SECOND CASING PORTION

The dry-powder inhaler may be assembled by folding the first casing portion and the second casing portion together. The first casing portion may include a cavity for receiving a dose blister foil, said cavity being adapted to contain a dry-powder medicament. The first casing portion and the second casing portion when folded together may be adapted to form an inlet for allowing a lidding foil extending out there from and an outlet for providing the medicament.
