DRY POWDER INHALERS AND INTERFACES FOR IMPROVED AEROSOL DELIVERY TO CHILDREN
Exemplary embodiments include dry powder inhalers (DPIs) and patient interfaces which improve delivery of aerosols to patients, especially children.
FOLDABLE INHALER
A device for inhaling an active agent is provided that can be moved from a first configuration to a second configuration. The device comprises two flexible substrates and a membrane (40) located between the two flexible substrates, and the two flexible substrates being connected at two opposing edges and unconnected at two further opposing edges. An active agent provided on the membrane may be inhaled by a user when the device is in the second configuration.
MONITOR FOR A MEDICAMENT INHALER
Adherence monitors are disclosed, incorporating cap removal sensors together with a determined time period in order to determine that a dose of medicament has been dispensed. In another form, cap removal data is combined with acoustic data to determine that a dose of medicament has been dispensed. Several specific structural arrangements are also disclosed.
Delivery devices
A delivery device is provided which comprises a container containing a dose of a powder and having at least one exit orifice for dispensing the dose from the container and a chamber adapted to receive the container in an operative configuration. The device further comprises at least one gas inlet by which gas may enter the chamber and at least one gas outlet by which gas and entrained powder may exit the chamber. The delivery device is operable to generate a gas flow through the chamber between the at least one gas inlet and the at least one gas outlet, which brings about orbital motion of the container within the chamber in that at least a central region of the container orbits a central axis of the chamber. The volume occupied by the container is at least 25% of the volume of the chamber.
Dry powder inhaler
The present invention relates to an inhaler which is appropriate for delivery of medicament in dry powder form used in respiratory diseases, particularly in asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). In addition, the present invention relates to an inhaler which includes a blister package appropriate for carrying the medicament in dry powder form and used to realize an effective inhalation.
Medicament unit dose cartridge and delivery device
There is described a dry powder medicament delivery device comprising: a medicament container containing a unit dose of dry powder medicament; a medicament dispensing assembly; and optionally an air source.
Dry powder inhaler and system for drug delivery
A breath-powered, dry powder inhaler, a cartridge, and a pulmonary drug delivery system are provided. The dry powder inhaler can be provided with or without a unit dose cartridge for using with the inhaler. The inhaler and/or cartridge can be provided with a drug delivery formulation comprising, for example, a diketopiperazine and an active ingredient, including, peptides and proteins such as insulin, oxyntomodulin and glucagon-like peptide.
FLUID RESERVOIR FOR AN AEROSOL GENERATOR AND AEROSOL GENERATOR COMPRISING THE FLUID RESERVOIR
The invention relates to a fluid reservoir (2) for an aerosol generator (50), the fluid reservoir (2) comprising a fluid chamber (4) for receiving a fluid (6), an opening (8) for guiding the fluid (6) received in the fluid chamber (4) outside the fluid chamber (4), and a collar portion (10) surrounding the opening (8) and extending into the fluid chamber (4). A first portion (12) of the fluid chamber (4) extends along the length of the collar portion (10) in a height direction (H) of the fluid chamber (4), A second portion (14) of the fluid chamber (4) is arranged adjacent to the first portion (12) in the height direction (H) of the fluid chamber (4). A lateral extension of the first portion (12) in the directions perpendicular to the height direction (H) of the fluid chamber (4) is smaller than a lateral extension of the second portion (14) in the directions perpendicular to the height direction (H) of the fluid chamber (4). Further, the invention relates to a fluid reservoir (2′) for an aerosol generator (50), the fluid reservoir (2′) comprising a fluid chamber (4′) for receiving a fluid (6′), an opening (8′) for guiding the fluid (6′) received in the fluid chamber (4′) outside the fluid chamber (4′), a recess (9) arranged at least partly below the opening (8!) in a height direction (H) of the fluid chamber (4′), and a cover member (30′) which releasably or permanently seals the recess (9). Moreover, the invention relates to an aerosol generator (50) comprising the fluid reservoir (2, 2′).
DEVICE FOR NASAL DELIVERY OF FLUID PRODUCT
A nasal fluid dispenser device comprising: a body (10) comprising a hollow sleeve (11) and a top surface (15); and an actuator member (40) that is mounted to slide in said body (10) so as to actuate the device; the device further comprising two nasal extensions (20, 30), at least one of which forms a dispenser head provided with a respective dispenser orifice (21, 31), said nasal extensions extending from said top surface (15), each dispenser head being connected, during actuation, to a respective reservoir (50) that is arranged in said body (10), said two nasal extensions (20, 30) forming an angle lying in the range 30° to 60° relative to a longitudinal central axis (A) of said body (10).
Medication dispenser
A medication dispenser includes a casing, a notched wheel and a circuitry unit. The casing includes a mouthpiece. The notched wheel has a plurality of notches, and is rotatable to register the notches with the mouthpiece. The circuitry unit includes an annular magnetic member co-rotatably mounted to the notched wheel, and a Hall sensor. The magnetic member has a plurality of alternately arranged first and second magnetic poles. The Hall sensor is in a first detecting state when it detects one of the first magnetic poles, and is in a second detecting state when it detects one of the second magnetic poles.
