DISPLAY DEVICE AND MANIPULATION SWITCH EQUIPPED WITH IT
A illuminating body, which is part of a display device provided in a vehicle-mounted manipulation switch, is formed by bonding a first illuminating member and a second illuminating member together so as to form a clearance between the first illuminating member and the second illuminating member. The first illuminating member is made of a resin having high light permeability such as, for example, a milky synthetic resin. The second illuminating member is made of a resin having low light permeability. The synthetic resin of the second illuminating member is in a color similar to the color of the manipulation surface of the manipulation button. The color of the synthetic resin is, for example, a dim smoke color. The second illuminating member has a graphic display part fitted into the display window and also has a flange formed at the bottom end of the graphic display part.
BACKLIGHTING FOR A BUTTON ASSEMBLY AND METHOD
A button assembly is described. The button assembly includes a button that includes a translucent interior material and an opaque front surface with at least one aperture through which light can pass. The button assembly also includes a light guide that includes a light transmitting material and a reflector. The light guide is a molded part where the light transmitting material is molded with the reflector as an integral part of the light guide. The light guide provides illumination to a back surface of the button.
Key button
Disclosed is key button (4) that includes a display surface on which character section (A) is formed, and a side face extending in a direction to intersect the display surface. The key button further includes transmission section (6) made of a light transmissive material, which constitutes the display surface and the side face, and shielding section (7) made of a light shielding material, which covers only a part of transmission section (6) other than character section (A) of the display surface.
Electronic device with metallic button
An electronic device includes a housing and a button. The housing has a first surface and a second surface opposite to the first surface, and defines a mounting hole passing through the first surface and the second surface. The mounting hole has an inner surface. The button is received in the mounting hole, and includes a metallic keycap and an annular buffer member. The keycap has a peripheral side surface, and defines a receiving groove on the peripheral side surface which extends around the peripheral side surface. The buffer member is composed of flexible material, sleeved on the keycap cap, partially received in the mounting hole, and partially positioned outside of the mounting hole to resist the second surface of the housing.

An operating member includes: a body portion; an operating portion connected to the body portion; an engaging portion arranged in the body portion; an engaged portion arranged in the operating portion, and engaged with the engaging portion to connect the body portion and the operating portion; a piece portion arranged in a back surface portion of the operating portion and protruding toward the body portion; a piece-portion hole arranged in the body portion, into which the piece portion is inserted; and a protruding portion made of an elastic material, arranged in the piece portion, protruding from a side of the piece portion, and press-contacting an edge portion of the piece-portion hole when the piece portion is inserted into the piece-portion hole.
Illumination display switching device
An illumination display switching device includes a switch knob slidable with respect to a push button-type switch. The switch knob includes a display operation part including a display design and a non-display design, a lock arm that is vertically hung from a central portion of the display operation part and connected to the push button-type switch, a light guide member that is vertically hung from the display operation part positioned near the light source, and an interconnection light guide member that interconnects the light guide member, a base of the lock arm and the display design. The display design is illuminated from a backside by emission light of the light source through the light guide member and the interconnection light guide member. The lock arm, the light guide member and the interconnection light guide member are integrally molded with the display design by the light-transmitting resin.

A rubber stem for use in a switch apparatus having a dome-shaped invertible spring includes an operating portion on which a pressing action is performed, a skirt surrounding the operating portion and configured to be deformed in response to the pressing action performed on the operating portion, a base extending annularly along a lower edge of the skirt and supporting the lower edge of the skirt, and a pressing portion provided on a back side of the operating portion at a position facing a top of the invertible spring and configured to press the top of the invertible spring in response to the pressing action performed on the operating portion, wherein the skirt is formed of a low-hardness elastic material, and at least a part of the rubber stem other than the skirt is formed of a high-hardness elastic material.
