Control devices having independently suspended buttons for controlled actuation
A control device includes a button assembly having one or more buttons and a button carrier that includes a plurality of resilient, independently deflectable spring arms. The control device may be configured as a wall-mounted keypad to control a load control device, or as a thermostat to control a temperature regulation appliance. The button carrier may be configured to prevent interference between the buttons during operation of the control device. The button assembly may be captured between a faceplate of the control device and a housing that is attached to a rear side of the faceplate. The control device may include one or more button retainers that are attached to the buttons and that are configured to align respective outer surfaces of the buttons relative to each other, and relative to the faceplate of the control device, when the buttons are in respective rest positions.
KEYSWITCH
A keyswitch includes a board, a cap opposite to the board, a first support device, a second support device, and a first link member. The first support device is disposed between the cap and the board. An end of the first support device is connected to the board. Another end of the first support device is connected to the cap. The second support device is disposed between the cap and the board and is separate from the first support device at a specific distance. An end of the second support device is connected to the board. Another end of the second support device is connected to the cap. The first link member has a first end portion and a second end portion. The first end portion is movably connected to the first support device. The second end portion is connected to the second support device.
KEYPAD FOR CONTROLLING LOADS
A control device for controlling power delivered to an electrical load includes a faceplate subassembly and a main control module. The faceplate subassembly includes a faceplate, a button, a circuit board, and a back cover. The faceplate includes a front surface and an opposed rear surface, and an opening extending therebetween with the button disposed in the opening in the faceplate. The back cover is positioned adjacent to the circuit board and defines a plurality of holes. A shaft of a post extending from the faceplate is disposed in one of the holes in the back cover and an end of the post is enlarged such that the back cover is captured between the end of the post and the rear surface of the faceplate. The main control module is configured to cause power delivered to the electrical load to be adjusted in response to depression of the button.
KEYSWITCH STRUCTURE
A keyswitch structure includes a base plate, a keycap, and two supports connected to the base plate and the keycap. The keycap is movable relative to the base plate through the two supports. The support is pivotally connected to the base plate through a pivotal connection structure that includes a guiding slot and a protruding shaft oppositely disposed on the support and the base plate. The guiding slot has an opening and an indentation portion. The opening is located at an upper end of the guiding slot. The protruding shaft enters the guiding slot from the opening to rotatably fit in the indentation portion, so that the support is pivotally connected to the base plate.
Keyswitch structure
A keyswitch structure includes a base plate, a keycap, and two supports connected to the base plate and the keycap. The keycap is movable relative to the base plate through the two supports. In an embodiment, the support is pivotally connected to the base plate through a pivotal connection structure that includes a guiding slot and a protruding shaft oppositely disposed on the support and the base plate. The guiding slot has an indentation portion and can guide the protruding shaft to fit in the indentation portion. In another embodiment, the support includes a support body connected to the base plate, and an abutting arm extending from the support body. The base plate structurally constrains the support through a hook and a limitation post thereof. The abutting arm of one support extends under the other support, so that the two supports can move each other through the abutting arms.

The control device may include one or more button retainers that are attached to the buttons and that are configured to align respective outer surfaces of the buttons relative to each other, and relative to the faceplate of the control device, when the buttons are in respective rest positions.
RECONFIGURABLE CONTROL DEVICE
A reconfigurable control device, in particular for use in a vehicle. Input keys on the reconfigurable control device allow a user to trigger different selection of modes. The control device is reconfigured by performing a first step of selecting a function mode by pressing one of the at least two input keys on the control device and a second step of selecting a function displayed on an array of mechanical switches. The selection of functions is refreshed with user trigger a fresh selection of mode.
