SYSTEMS AND METHODS OF AEROSOL DELIVERY WITH AIRFLOW REGULATION
Systems and methods are provided for aerosolizing and delivering therapeutic substances in an electronic aerosol delivery device with airflow regulation. Calibrated airflow resistance settings enable adjustment and control of flow velocity and or flow volume of air, aerosolized air, and or entrained aerosol particles, through the device, for optimal aerosol delivery among diverse conditions and applications.
FILTER ARRANGEMENT AND PROCESS FOR FILTERING A GAS FROM A GAS MIXTURE
An arrangement and a process filter out at least one gas from a gas mixture. A filter unit (4) of the filter arrangement comprises an inlet and an outlet and is adapted to filter the gas out of the gas mixture while the gas mixture flows through the filter unit (4). The filter unit (4) takes up the gas and heats up in the process. A filter temperature sensor (46, 46.2) of the filter arrangement is adapted to measure at least once an indicator of the temperature in a first measuring area (MP, MP.2) inside the filter unit (4). Depending on the measured temperature, a message is generated and output in a form perceptible by a human being. This message includes information about the current state of the filter unit (4).
Secretion clearing patient airway management system
A pulmonary secretion clearing airway structure and related airway management system is disclosed that has a double lumen portion which each lumen of the double lumen portion operably secured to an airway management system so that inspiratory fluid (air/oxygen mixtures, with or without added water vapor) is delivered to the distal end of the ventilation catheter through one of the two lumens and expired inspiratory fluid, pulmonary secretions, and pulmonary fluids are removed from the patient through the other lumen. The expiratory fluid pathway preferably includes a secretion collection system for removing the pulmonary secretions and the like from the pathway, thereby improving operation and safety of the system. The airway structure can be a ventilation catheter or a supraglottic airway system such as laryngeal mask and the like.
Methods and systems for waste gas detection in an anesthetic vaporizer
Systems and methods are provided for detecting and sequestering waste anesthetic gases released by an anesthetic vaporizer. In one embodiment, a method for an anesthetic vaporizer installed in an anesthesia machine includes detecting an emission of waste anesthetic gases (WAGs) from the anesthetic vaporizer, and responsive to detecting the emission of WAGs, performing at least one of scavenging the WAGs and outputting an alert.
DEVICE FOR LIMITING INFECTION
Disclosed is a barrier tent comprising a canopy, at least a portion of the canopy being composed of flexible sheet material; a frame for supporting the canopy; the canopy and frame being configured such that an internal surface of the canopy defines at least a portion of a patient segregation cavity to enclose a patient's head and at least a portion of the patient's body within the patient segregation cavity; and a gas input extending through the canopy, the gas input being positioned at a location configured such that supply of a gas through the input limits movement of aerosolised particles generated by or adjacent the patient toward the internal surface of the canopy.
VENTILATOR FILTER STERILIZATION SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A filter sterilization system includes an expiratory filter having filter material that collects pathogens present in the exhaled gas stream from a ventilated patient. A filter sterilizer includes an ultraviolet (UV) light source that is activated by the system to emit light towards the expiratory filter. Additionally, the system includes a ventilator coupled to a patient breathing circuit that provides a gas mixture from a gas source to the ventilated patient and transfers exhaled gases of the ventilated patient to the expiratory filter.
GAS SENSOR FOR ANESTHETIC GASES AND ITS USE
A gas sensor for the detection of gases and vapors in air is particularly for the detection of anesthetic gases. A method for the detection and for the monitoring of such gases is also provided including detecting anesthetic gases with the gas sensor.
Emergency respiratory ventilator
An emergency respirator ventilator that comprising an air cylinder and piston/piston rod for compressing an air bag to transmit air to a patient, e.g., during situations where fully equipped ventilators are not immediately available.
Manufacturing method for a hood type ventilation device
A device for providing a known concentration of blended air and oxygen, or oxygen, to an individual which incorporates a face mask inside a hood, thereby preventing aerosolization of potentially harmful exhaled gases and controlling condensation issues within the hood while under pressurized conditions. The air tight seal required to allow placement and removal of the hood on the individual will be manufactured using injection molded elastomers to over-mold injection molded rigid plastic components.
System And Method For Plasma Purification Prior To Mononuclear Cell Collection
A method of collecting mononuclear cells includes separating whole blood into plasma and cellular components, purifying the plasma through a plasma adsorption column to create purified plasma, combining the cellular components with the purified plasma to form a first mixture, and separating the first mixture into mononuclear cells and at least one component. Alternatively, whole blood may be flowed through an adsorption column to create purified whole blood, with the purified whole blood then being separated into mononuclear cells and at least one component.
