The example aerosol delivery device further includes a controller coupled to the internal power source to receive a portion of the electrical power and configured to, when the cartridge is installed at the housing, cause the vapor element of the cartridge to heat the aerosolizable substance to release an aerosol into the airflow passage during an inhalation through the airflow outlet, and a connector configured to receive power from an external source to recharge the internal power source.
MOUTHPIECE AND NEBULIZER HAVING A MOUTHPIECE
The present disclosure relates to a mouthpiece (40) for delivering an aerosol supplied by a nebulizer (100) to a user, the mouthpiece (40) comprising a body (46) defining a fluid path (47) from an inlet port (41) connectable to the nebulizer (100) to an inhalation opening (42) to be received in the mouth of a user and a filter (30). The filter (30) has a filter base (31) in fluid communication with the fluid path (47), a filter top (33) detachably connected to the filter base (31) and a filter material (32) provided between the filter base (31) and the filter top (33). The filter top (33) has an exhalation opening (36) cooperating with a one-way valve (39) allowing exhaustion of fluid from the fluid path (47) through the filter material (32) to the outside of the mouthpiece upon exhalation of a patient through the inhalation opening (42). The body (46) and the filter base (31) are an integrated one-piece unit so as to provide for an easy to handle and comfortable mouthpiece (40).
RESCUE BREATHING DEVICE
A ventilation system for ventilation of a patient includes a patient interface device for attaching to the patient and a measuring and analysis device for measuring and analyzing breathing of the patient. The measuring and analysis device includes a connector housing defining a passage. A first portion of the connector housing is connected to the patient interface device. The measuring and analysis device further includes an air flow sensor and a pressure sensor disposed in the connector housing for measuring an air flow rate through the connector housing and a pressure in the connector housing respectively. The present device also includes a processor configured for data acquisition, data storage, data processing, and data output based on the air flow rate and the pressure, whereby the ventilation system is operable with real-time feedback based on the data output. A method for administering cardiopulmonary resuscitation is also provided.
Pulsed pressure swing adsorption system and method
A pressure swing adsorption (PSA) system and methods for controlling each PSA cycle performed by the PSA system to produce oxygen enriched gas during productive portions of a user breathing cycle, and to cease production of oxygen enriched gas during non-productive portions of the user breathing cycle, is provided. The PSA system synchronizes PSA cycle phases including adsorption and desorption phases with a user's individual inhalation and exhalation phases, on a breath by breath basis, such that each PSA cycle can be dynamically varied from a succeeding PSA cycle, in real time in response to variations in the user's breathing cycle. An oxygen delivery device including a breathing cycle sensor provides breathing cycle inputs to a controller for use with at least one algorithm to detect breathing flow phases during each user breath, and to synchronize each PSA cycle to the user's breathing flow phases, on a breath-by-breath basis.
DROPLET ISOLATION ENDOSCOPY MASK
The present disclosure describes an improved endoscopy scope mask and related methods. One such endoscopy mask comprises a mask body defining an interior cavity that fits over a nose and mouth of a patient, in which the mask body comprises a nasal port in fluidic communication with the interior cavity having a silicone membrane that allows for insertion of an endoscopic instrument; an oral port in fluidic communication with the interior cavity having a soft silicone membrane that allows for insertion of the endoscopic instrument; an oxygen port in fluidic communication with the interior cavity; one or more filtered exhalation ports in fluidic communication with the interior cavity; and a suction port in fluidic communication with the interior cavity, the suction port having a connector for attachment to a suction tool. Other embodiments are also provided.
SERVICEABLE RESPIRATOR SYSTEM WITH CONFIGURABLE COMPONENTS
There is provided a respirator for supplying clean air for a wearer. The respirator comprises a face assembly comprising an oronasal mask configured to seal against and cover a nose region and a mouth region of the wearer. The face assembly may be configured to be interchangeable on the respirator between a half-face assembly and a full-face assembly. The respirator comprises a securing headgear releasably securable with the face assembly, the securing headgear assembly configured to secure the respirator on a head of the wearer. The respirator comprises a facepiece assembly for supplying the wearer with air for inhaling and releasing air exhaled by the wear, the facepiece assembly releasably securable with the face assembly. One or more of the face assembly, the facepiece assembly, or the securing headgear are configured to be released from the respirator, sterilized, and releasably resecured with the respirator.
E-CIGARETTE WITH VALVE ALLOWING EXHALE FILTER
An electronic cigarette particularly adaptable to vaporize liquid material also having exhale filter function is disclosed herein. The exhale function is useful to prevent second hand smoke in an enclosed environment, for example. An innovative diverter valve assembly comprises a unique duckbill valve configuration diverting air through a cooker chamber and into a mouthpiece in an inhale function and diverting exhaled air around the cooker chamber in the exhale function and through a filter assembly. A preferred embodiment further introduces a unique shape to the smoking instrument being elliptical in the cross-section and tapering to proximal and distal ends.
