Intubation devices and methods of use
Intubation devices and methods of intubating a patient are provided. The intubation devices include a laryngeal mask airway (LMA) component having a mask portion and a tube portion and an endotracheal tube (ETT) component positioned in the laryngeal mask airway (LMA) component having a translatable and/or rotatable endotracheal tube. The endotracheal tube can be translated and/or rotated by a manipulation rod extending through the laryngeal mask airway (LMA) component and mounted to the endotracheal tube (ETT). The intubation devices may include inflatable cuffs adapted to manipulate the positioning or orientation of the endotracheal tube and/or to seal openings about the endotracheal tubes. Various ports, passages, and conduits are provided to enhance the use and manipulation of the intubation device.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR A LUNG ISOLATION TUBE ASSEMBLY
A lung isolation tube assembly comprising a control valve that is adapted to be moved between a left lumen position, a right lumen position, and a both lumens position, a connector that is in fluid communication with the control valve, and a tube that is in fluid communication with the connector. The tube comprises a left lumen that is in fluid communication with the connector and a right lumen that is in fluid communication with the connector. The assembly also comprises a first cuff that is disposed around a portion of the right lumen and the left lumen and a second cuff that is disposed around the left lumen. The assembly is adapted to convey airflow or oxygen to a human lung via at least one of the left lumen and the right lumen. A method for isolating a human lung.
Dual lumen endobronchial tube device
The present invention provides improved dual lumen endobronchial tube devices. The dual lumen endobronchial tube devices feature a universal design for left or right mainstem bronchus insertion. The dual lumen endobronchial tube devices also feature enhanced balloon cuff designs to minimize dislodgement while maintaining proper airway sealing. The present invention also includes water activated lubricious coating inside the shaft to reduce friction during insertion of a bronchoscope into the airway. The present invention also provides improved double clamps that prevent the accidental clamping of both tubes of a Y-adapter.
DISPOSABLE ANGLE-ADJUSTABLE VISUAL BRONCHIAL BLOCKER
A disposable angle-adjustable visual bronchial blocker, including a bronchial blocking catheter which is divided into a stiff main catheter section (7) and a soft flexible section (3). An inflatable air bag (2) is arranged outside of the soft flexible section (3), and a camera assembly (1) is arranged at a front end of the soft flexible section (3). An interior of the bronchial blocking catheter includes a forward flexion control line (4), a backward extension control line (5), a ventilation lumen (6), an inflation line and a camera video line. A control handle (14) is arranged at a tail end of the bronchial blocking catheter, and an angle control disk (15) is arranged on a side face of the control handle (14). A front opening of the ventilation lumen (6) is formed in a front end face of the camera assembly (1).
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR FLUSHING AN ASSESSMENT CATHETER
Devices systems and methods are disclosed for removing secretions from the lumen of a functional assessment catheter for the lungs. The system comprises a flushing unit configured to deliver a clearing fluid to the lumen of the pulmonary catheter to remove debris, secretions, or moisture from the lumen or sensors.
ENDOTRACHEAL TUBE EXCHANGE
An intubation system includes: a base configured to be secured relative to a subject; a guide movably coupled to the base to allow the guide to move relative to the base; and a connector configured to be connected to a distal end of the guide and to detachably connect to an endotracheal tube such that as the guide is moved relative to the base toward the subject, the endotracheal tube is inserted into the subject.
MEDICAL TUBES FOR SELECTIVE MECHANICAL VENTILATION OF THE LUNGS
An endobronchial tube is provided that includes a medical tube comprising an endotracheal portion and a bronchial portion having a common single lumen extending between a proximal end and a distal end of the tube, a first endotracheal inflatable cuff for sealing against a trachea of a patient, a second endotracheal inflatable cuff positioned distal to the first endotracheal inflatable cuff for sealing against the trachea of the patient; a bronchial inflatable cuff positioned near a distal end of the medical tube after the first endotracheal inflatable cuff and the second endotracheal inflatable cuff, for sealing the left main stem bronchi of the patient, an intraluminal balloon blocker positioned along an inner surface of the bronchial portion for sealing the common single lumen at the distal end of the bronchial portion, and an aperture positioned between the endotracheal portion and the bronchial portion.
Combined Laryngeal-Bronchial Lung Separation System
The present disclosure describes systems and apparatuses related to a bronchial isolation tube, a laryngeal mask or similar device, and/or adapters and connectors for use with the same, as well as methods for using the same. In an exemplary airway device, the device may comprise a mask portion being defined at a distal end of the airway device, and may be configured and dimensioned to be positioned in a hypopharyngeal area of a patient to cover and seal around a glottis of the patient; and a channel portion extending from a proximal end of the airway device to the mask portion. The channel portion may include first and second channels, wherein the second channel may obliquely merge with the first channel proximate to an opening of the first channel. In an exemplary embodiment, a third channel may form a combined pharyngeal-gastric access channel.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ENDOBRONCHIAL DIAGNOSIS
The present invention provides systems, methods, devices and kits for assessing the level of pulmonary disease in individual lung compartments. A lung compartment comprises a subportion of a lung, such as a lobe, a segment or a subsegment, for example. By measuring individual lung compartments, the level of disease of the pulmonary system may be more precisely defined by determining values of disease parameters reflective of individual subportions or compartments of a lung. Likewise, compartments may be separately imaged to provide further measurement information. Once individual compartments are characterized, they may be compared and ranked based on a number of variables reflecting, for example, level of disease or need for treatment. Such comparison may be aided by simultaneous display of such variables or images on a visual display. Further, the same tests may be performed on the lung as a whole or on both lungs and to determine the affect of the diseased lung compartments on the overall lung performance. In addition, the diseased lung compartments may be temporarily isolated and the measurement tests performed to determine the affect of the isolation on overall lung performance. As a result, the most beneficial treatment options may be selected.
