Laryngeal mask
A device for maintaining an airway in a patient, the device including a mask having a peripheral portion that forms a seal with the larynx when the mask is positioned in the laryngo pharynx to thereby prevent ingress of extraneous fluids into the larynx; an airway tube connected to or formed with the mask for passing gas to the larynx when the mask is properly inserted into the laryngo pharynx; and one or more elongated members located on the mask, wherein the application of force to the elongated members causes elastic deformation of the device, thereby facilitating insertion of the device into the patient.
A tracheal aid
A tracheal device for the assisted respiration of a patient includes a first tube having a proximal end to be arranged protruding from the mouth of the patient and connectable to a device for assisted respiration, a distal end adapted to cover an orifice, and a first sealing element coupled externally to the first tube. The tracheal device also includes a second tube having a distal end adapted to cover the orifice, a second sealing element coupled externally to the second tube, and a flexible and collapsible service duct stably coupled to the first tube and the second tube to allow the service duct and the first and the second tubes to be arranged in two configurations.
SANITARY EXTUBATION COVER AND METHOD FOR ITS USE
A sanitary extubation cover used to cover an endotracheal tube and a patient's face in order to accommodate sanitary extubation. The sanitary extubation cover includes a mask and a cover which covers the endotracheal tube. If the patient coughs, the cough would be directed into the mask and the endotracheal tube (which is covered by the cover) but contaminants from the cough would be suppressed from spreading into the open air. The mask can have an air cushion at the bottom of the mask in order to securely press against the patient's face. The mask can also have a solid silicone base at the bottom of the mask in order to securely press against the patient's face.
Laryngeal Mask Airway Intubation Guide and Method
A laryngeal mask airway (LMA) intubation guide for use in an endotracheal intubation procedure and in ventilation of a subject, the LMA intubation guide including: an elongate body defining a passageway extending between a proximal opening and a distal opening, for receiving a blade portion of an intubation device; a laryngeal mask at the distal opening, for covering the larynx of the subject; and a ventilation airway extending at least partially along the body, including: a ventilation port at a proximal end of the ventilation airway for connection to a ventilator; and a ventilation aperture at a distal end of the ventilation airway for allowing fluid communication between the ventilation airway and the passageway proximate to the laryngeal mask, the LMA intubation guide being configured to allow intubation of the subject using an endotracheal tube through the passageway, while the subject is ventilated using the ventilation airway.
Catheter placement device and placement system
A placement device is provided for causing a catheter to be placed inside of a body. The placement device includes an insertion unit, a transmission unit and a supply member. The supply member includes a supply unit main body, and a projection. A through-hole is formed on the inner peripheral surface of the supply unit main body at a position closer to a distal end side of the supply portion main body than the projection, and the through-hole communicates with an inside of the supply unit main body at the distal end side of the supply unit main body.
Insertable device to prevent aspiration of stomach contents during ventilation and intubation
A novel nasogastric tube, that when properly inserted within a person, blocks the esophagus of the person to prevent gastric contents from being aspirated. The tube can be left in place during direct langroscopy and the device can include a preferably inflatable balloon for obstructing the person’s esophagus. This balloon can be preferably provided on a slidable tube that allows for head movement/flexion without movement of the balloon placement. The tube can be a dual or single lumen device. With a duel lumen device, a first lumen can be connected to a suction tubing to suction gastric contents from the distal end of the tube, while the other lumen can open up above the cuff to allow for easier ventilation with a bag valve mask/BVM. A novel endotracheal tube and novel indwelling catheter also incorporating a balloon component are also disclosed.
BREATHING ASSISTANCE APPARATUS
A nasal cannula assembly is disclosed having a face mount part, in use resting against a user's face, which includes at least one nasal prong capable of being fitted into a person's nares. The cannula assembly also includes a manifold part, in fluid communication with the face mount part, having a single horizontal side gases entry. In particular, this cannula assembly is for supplying heated, humidified gases to a patient suffering from COPD. A tie or lanyard is disclosed for use with a breathing assistance apparatus such as a nasal cannula, face or nasal mask or tracheostomy connector. The tie or lanyard transfers the weight of the conduits supplying gases to the breathing assistance apparatus from the breathing assistance apparatus and distributes it onto the neck of the patient.
LARYNGEAL MASK
Laryngeal mask comprising a dome and a connecting channel configured to produce the artificial ventilation of a patient, wherein the laryngeal mask further comprises an inlet of a gastric aspiration tube, said inlet being located at a distal end of said dome, on the side wall of this dome, wherein said inlet is configured to absorb any gastric secretions from the patient's oesophagus, wherein the laryngeal mask comprises at least a non-return valve located at the distal end of the dome, wherein the valve comprises at least two flexible membranes configured to allow fluid to flow in a single direction from the outside to the inside of the dome, wherein the pipes of the connecting channel connecting the dome with the artificial respirator outside have in their section a geometric configuration classified as an irregular, asymmetric and non-circular polygon.
RESPIRATORY MASK WITH NASOGASTRIC TUBE PATH
A respiratory mask can be used to provide therapy to patients who also require a nasogastric (NG) tube. The mask seal can include a path that is designed to deform around an NG tube or other without lifting the mask away from a patient's face. The deforming path can help to minimize gaps that form between the patient's face and the mask seal as a result of the tube, thus reducing leaks and improving the efficacy of the treatment.
LARYNGEAL MASK AIRWAY
Provided is a laryngeal mask airway, comprising a laryngeal mask airway main body (10) and a view device (20). The laryngeal mask airway main body (10) comprises a catheter (12), and a sealing base (13) connected to the distal end of the catheter (12), and the view device (20) comprises a control part (22) and a vidicon (23), wherein an image sensor (231) is formed at the distal end of the vidicon (23), and an air guide channel (101) and a view lumen (103) are formed in the laryngeal mask airway main body (10); and a first blind end part (103a) that is closed by a light-transmitting material is formed at the distal end of the view lumen (103), the vidicon (23) is inserted into the view lumen (103) in a pluggable manner, the distal end of the view lumen (103) and the distal end of the vidicon (23) extend into the sealing base (13), and the distal end of the vidicon (23) can be bent and reset. The vidicon (23) is sealed inside the view lumen (103) and does not come into contact with internal tissue of a patient during use, such that the vidicon (23) can be reused in a relatively safe manner; and the distal end of the vidicon (23) can bypass the epiglottis, and the drooping epiglottis can be pushed aside by means of controlling the distal end of the vidicon (23) to be bent upwards so as to obtain a good view.
