The present invention generally relates to a method for forming a light extraction layer comprising nanostructures, the method comprising: providing a substrate, the substrate being at least partially transparent to UV light; forming a non-aqueous precursor solution comprising fluorine and an alkaline earth metal to form alkaline earth metal difluoride particles; applying the precursor solution on at least a first side of the substrate; drying the substrate at a first temperature for a first period of time; and baking the substrate at a second temperature, higher than the first temperature, for a second period of time, thereby forming a light extraction nanostructure layer comprising alkaline earth metal difluoride nanostructures on the substrate. The present invention also relates to a light extraction structure and to a UV lamp comprising such an extraction structure.
Methods for Fabricating Display Structures
An electronic device display may have a color filter layer and a thin film transistor layer. A layer of liquid crystal material may be interposed between the color filter layer and the thin film transistor layer. A layer of polarizer may be laminated onto the surface of the color filter layer. Laser trimming may ensure that the edges of the polarizer are even with the edges of the color filter layer. The thin film transistor layer may have an array of thin film transistors that control pixels of the liquid crystal material in the display. Driver circuitry may be used to control the array. The driver circuitry may be encapsulated in a planarized encapsulant on the thin film transistor layer or may be mounted to the underside of the color filter layer. Conductive structures may connect driver circuitry on the color filter layer to the thin film transistor layer.

Liquid crystal display device, method of manufacturing the same and alignment layer composition for the liquid crystal display device
A liquid crystal display device that includes an array substrate, an opposite substrate and a liquid crystal display layer is described. The array substrate includes a pixel electrode and a lower alignment layer. The pixel electrode has a plurality of slit portions extending in different directions. The lower alignment layer includes a reactive mesogen (RM) diamine is formed on the pixel electrode to induce an alignment direction of the liquid crystal molecules. An upper alignment layer is formed on a common electrode of the opposite substrate. The RM is cured at surfaces of the lower and upper alignment layers in response to ultraviolet (UV) light, so that liquid crystal molecules have a pretilt angle. Therefore, the aperture ratio and the response time may be improved, and afterimages may be decreased, so that display quality may be improved.
