HIGH VOLTAGE VACUUM FEEDTHROUGH
A feedthrough for providing an electrical connection is provided. The feedthrough comprises a conductor and a quartz or a glass structure configured to surround at least a portion of the conductor and provide isolation to the conductor. The conductor and the quartz or glass structure may be coaxially arranged. The feedthrough can provide an electrical connection between an inside and outside of a vacuum chamber that contains a sample.
HERMETIC GLASS-TO-METAL SEAL REINFORCED WITH A CERAMIC DISC TO PREVENT CRACK PROPAGATION
A glass-to-metal seal assembly for electrical components. The glass-to-metal seal assembly provides ceramic washers that sandwiches the glass portion of the glass-to-metal seals. The ceramic washer encases the glass seal, thereby reinforcing the glass surface against crack propagation and the formation of a fragile glass meniscus at the interface of the glass seal and the encased electrical component. The ceramic washers may have a coefficient of thermal expansion that closely matches the coefficient of thermal expansion all of the other components of the assembly.
FAST START DIMMABLE RF INDUCTION LAMP
A dimmable induction RF fluorescent lamp comprising a dimming circuit enabling the induction RF fluorescent lamp to dim in response to a signal from an external dimming circuit, and having a main mercury amalgam having a vapor pressure at room temperature which is higher than the vapor pressure of the mercury amalgam formed on the flag.
BODY, ESPECIALLY LAMP BODY, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING A HERMETIC SEAL
A body, such as a lamp body, includes a tubular element. At least one conductor is introduced into the tubular element and a glass material surrounds the conductor. The glass material forms a seal between the tubular element and the conductor. The glass material comprises a sintered glass, such as a sintered glass ring, and may completely surround the conductor.
Fast start fluorescent light bulb
An RF fluorescent lamp, comprising a bulbous vitreous portion of the RF fluorescent lamp comprising a vitreous envelope filled with a working gas mixture, a power coupler to induce an alternating electric field within the vitreous envelope, an electronic ballast, and a mercury amalgam accommodating structure mounted within the lamp envelope and adapted to absorb power from the electric field to rapidly heat and vaporize an amalgam of mercury to rapidly illuminate the lamp envelope during a turn-on phase of the RF fluorescent lamp, wherein the structure is comprised of a substrate material coated with a mixture of indium and gold.
Ion source repeller shield comprising a labyrinth seal
An arc chamber liner has first and second surfaces and a hole having a first diameter. A liner lip having a second diameter extends upwardly from the second surface toward the first surface and surrounds the hole. An electrode has a shaft with a third diameter and a head with a fourth diameter. The third diameter is less than the first diameter and passes through the body and hole and is electrically isolated from the liner by an annular gap. The head has a third surface having an electrode lip extending downwardly from the third surface toward the second surface. The electrode lip has a fifth diameter between the second and fourth diameters. A spacing between the liner and electrode lips defines a labyrinth seal to generally prevent contaminants from entering the annular gap. The shaft has an annular groove configured to accept a boron nitride seal.

Magnetron
An antenna part of a magnetron includes an exhaust portion that is connected to an antenna conductor derived from an anode part and has an output terminal from which a microwave is outputted, and an output-side ceramic stem that holds internally the antenna conductor and is firmly fixed to the exhaust portion to insulate electrically a side pipe connected to the anode part of a main body of the magnetron from the exhaust portion. An antenna part further includes an antenna cap that is joined to the exhaust portion by a conductive adhesive arranged on an outer periphery of the exhaust portion. Accordingly, it is possible to provide the magnetron that can prevent occurrence of electric discharge between the antenna cap and the exhaust portion.

Double-ended high intensity discharge lamp and manufacturing method thereof
A double-ended high intensity discharge lamp includes a luminous tube which comprises an inner tube and an outer tube. At least one electrical member is securely fastened inside the luminous tube and at least one illuminator supported inside the luminous tube with a distributor connected with the electrical member to receive power and supply the illuminator. The outer tube is another protective shield to stop spreading in explosion of the illuminator.
