An apparatus and method for providing cooled clean filtered air to the wearer of this device while allowing them to remain inconspicuous and to do so using inexpensive easily obtainable filtration supplies.

Protective helmet

A protective helmet. The protective helmet includes an outer layer and an inner layer, each formed of a hard material. The outer layer and the inner layer each further include a concave interior surface and a convex exterior surface. A flexible connector connects the concave interior surface of the outer layer to the convex exterior surface of the inner layer. The flexible connector is configured to allow the outer layer to laterally shift relative to the inner layer upon impact to the protective helmet. Upon impact, the convex surface moves along the inclined planed of the concave surface in a direction opposite of the impact, while the stretched flexible connector provides a restoring force pulling the inner and outer layers back to their original positions.

Aspects herein are directed to an article of headwear having a first layer of material formed from a polyester yarn, a second layer of material formed from a polyester yarn, and an absorbent layer positioned between the first layer of material and the second layer of material at a front of the article of headwear. The article of headwear is configured to temporarily store perspiration produced by a wearer's forehead area and transport the perspiration to the sides and back of the article of headwear where it can subsequently evaporate or be harmlessly released.

Ventilation and temperature adjustment opening for outdoor equipment

An outdoor item such as a sleeping bag, jacket, hat or blanket with one or more ventilation/temperature adjustment openings. Each ventilation/temperature adjustment opening includes, in one embodiment, a mechanism that serves to either form an opening in one or both of the outer layer, and the inner layer of the outdoor item. In another embodiment, the one or more ventilation/temperature adjustment mechanism includes an air bladder which, when inflated, serves to push aside any insulation adjacent the deflated air bladder while in both embodiments, allowing the outdoor item to vent better, thereby cooling an occupant using or wearing the outdoor item thereby offering temperature regulation.
