SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR FLUSHING AN ASSESSMENT CATHETER
Devices systems and methods are disclosed for removing secretions from the lumen of a functional assessment catheter for the lungs. The system comprises a flushing unit configured to deliver a clearing fluid to the lumen of the pulmonary catheter to remove debris, secretions, or moisture from the lumen or sensors.
Airway management device and method of manufacture
An airway management device comprising a body having a proximal end for receiving an oxygen supply tube and an distal end for insertion into a trachea of a patient; said body including a linear portion adjacent to the proximal end and a curved portion adjacent to the distal end; said body including an external shell and having a first bore through said shell for receiving the oxygen supply tube; wherein flexural strength for said airway management device is provided by said shell.
OROPHRANGEAL GLOVE FOR USE WITH A RIGID BRONCHSCOPE AND A METHOD
An oropharyngeal glove for use with a rigid bronchoscope is provided for use during a rigid bronchoscopy procedure. When the oropharyngeal glove is in its installed state, it conforms to the patient's mouth and throat, The oropharyngeal glove includes upper and lower teeth guards that protect the patient's upper and lower front teeth, respectively, when the glove is in the installed state. A first opening is formed in the oropharyngeal glove in its proximal end that allows the rigid bronchoscope to enter glove. The oropharyngeal glove has a second opening formed in its distal end through which the rigid bronchoscope passes to enter the patient's trachea, The portions of the glove that conform to the patient's mouth and throat comprise a protective lining that protects the mouth, throat and vocal cords from being damaged by the rigid bronchoscope.
Oral appliance and method of use therof
The present disclosure relates generally to an oral appliance and to methods of using such a device. More particularly, the disclosure relates to a device including an inflatable balloon and a guide assembly. One aspect of the present disclosure provides an oral device including an elongated member extending from a proximal end to a distal end, and an inflatable balloon attached to the elongated member near the distal end, the inflatable balloon having a central lumen. Another aspect provides a method of intubating a patient using an oral appliance as disclosed herein.
SECRETION CLEARING VENTILATION CATHETER AND AIRWAY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
A pulmonary secretion clearing ventilation catheter and related airway management system is disclosed. The ventilation catheter has a double lumen portion which each lumen of the double lumen portion operably secured to an airway management system so that inspiratory fluid (air/oxygen mixtures, with or without added water vapor) is delivered to the distal end of the ventilation catheter through one of the two lumens and expired inspiratory fluid, pulmonary secretions, and pulmonary fluids are removed from the patent through the other lumen. The expiratory fluid pathway preferably includes a secretion collection system for removing the pulmonary secretions and the like from the pathway, thereby improving operation and safety of the system. An improved inflatable cuff is also disclosed that permits a slight air leakage in the pneumatic seal between the patient's lungs and the environment, thereby facilitating removal of pulmonary secretions from the patient's lungs.

Endotracheal tube apparatus
An apparatus for monitoring EMG signals of a patient's laryngeal muscles includes an endotracheal tube having an exterior surface and a first location configured to be positioned at the patient's vocal folds. A first electrode is formed on the exterior surface of the endotracheal tube substantially below the first location to receive EMG signals primarily from below the vocal folds. A second electrode is formed on the exterior surface of the endotracheal tube substantially above the first location to receive EMG signals primarily from above the vocal folds. The first and second electrodes are configured to receive the EMG signals from the laryngeal muscles when the endotracheal tube is placed in a trachea of the patient.
Nasogastric expandable intubation assembles
Embodiments can provide an expandable nasogastric intubation assembly, comprising a tube subassembly and an expander subassembly, comprising an inflatable balloon comprising a proximal expander component section and a distal expander component section wherein the proximal expander component section is located between the proximal end of the intubation assembly and the distal expander component section; wherein the distal expander component section is located between the distal end of the intubation assembly and the proximal expander component section; wherein the inflatable balloon is coupled to the tube subassembly, the proximal expander component section is configured to be inflated from an injection of fluid into at least one first opening located in the second passageway, and the distal expander component section is configured to be inflated by the injection of fluid into at least one second opening located in the second passageway.
Endotracheal cuff and technique for using the same
An inflatable balloon cuff may be adapted to seal a patient's trachea when associated with an endotracheal tube. Configurations of these cuffs that include tapered regions with certain characteristics, such as cuff wall diameter and thickness, may provide improved sealing of the trachea.
INTUBATION DEVICES AND METHODS OF USE
Intubation devices and methods of intubating a patient are provided. The intubation devices include a laryngeal mask airway (LMA) component having a mask portion and a tube portion and an endotracheal tube (ETT) component positioned in the laryngeal mask airway (LMA) component having a translatable and/or rotatable endotracheal tube. The endotracheal tube can be translated and/or rotated by a manipulation rod extending through the laryngeal mask airway (LMA) component and mounted to the endotracheal tube (ETT). The intubation devices may include inflatable cuffs adapted to manipulate the positioning or orientation of the endotracheal tube and/or to seal openings about the endotracheal tubes. Various ports, passages, and conduits are provided to enhance the use and manipulation of the intubation device.
