Tracheostoma plaster

To solve the problem of providing a tracheostoma plaster that has a good sealing effect in the area of skin directly bordering a tracheostoma, a tracheostoma plaster (10) is proposed, having a proximal and a distal side (12, 14), having an adhesive strip (16) arranged on the distal side, having a receptacle (36) for a tracheostoma aid and having an annular bead (20), which is arranged on the proximal side of the plaster on a portion of the same, wherein the receptacle is surrounded by the annular bead.

System and method for emergency apneic oxygenation

Techniques for emergency apneic oxygenation include a cannula having a longitudinal inner passage with an inner diameter. A distal portion has a first outer diameter greater than the inner diameter, and is made of shape memory material shaped to bend in a first direction along the inner passage. A cannula base has a second outer diameter greater than the first outer diameter. A distance from a distal end of the cannula to a proximal end of the distal portion of the cannula is less than a distance from a surface of a throat of a subject to a distal surface of an airway of the subject. The inner passage is configured to pass a catheter connected at a proximal end to an oxygen source. In various embodiments, the cannula is used with a trocar and, optionally, a system base, or supplied in a kit with a catheter.

TRACHEOSTOMA VALVE

A removable fiberoptic adapter is secured onto a respiratory-device, such as a laryngeal mask airway (LMA) or a ventilating airway mask, to allow for endoscopes to be inserted through the LMA while maintaining a connection to an oxygen source to sustain the patient as the patient breathes. The removable fiberoptic adapter includes an airway tube, an oxygen port, a carbon dioxide outlet, an implement port, and an adapter plug. The oxygen port and the carbon dioxide outlet allow for the introduction of air or oxygen and the removal of carbon dioxide for respiration of the patient. The oxygen port and the carbon dioxide outlet are laterally connected to the airway tube. The implement port allows for the insertion of endoscopes or other medical implements through the respiratory-device. The adapter plug engages the implement inlet in order to restrict fluid flow through the implement inlet.

UNIVERSAL RESPIRATORY DETECTOR

A universal respiratory detector for detecting a respiratory gas. The universal respiratory detector may include a plurality of layers with a visual indicator to quickly and reversibly change color to detect a respiratory gas parameter such as carbon dioxide. The color change may be visible from both sides of the detector. In some examples, the respiratory detector may be a biocompatible and conformable sticker for mounting on a person's face or an oxygen delivery device.

A tracheostoma device holder for holding a tracheostoma aid device superimposed on a tracheostoma of a person is provided. The tracheostoma device holder may comprise a skirt for attachment over a tracheostoma via a skin adhesive proximal side thereof, wherein the skirt is provided with a through hole. The tracheostoma device holder may comprise a tubular tracheostoma device fitting arranged circumferentially of the through hole. The tubular tracheostoma device fitting may comprise a sleeve extending distally from a distal side of the skirt, and an annular lip. The lip may extend proximally and centrally from the sleeve.

Speaking valve

The invention relates to a speaking valve for laryngectomized and tracheotomized persons that is easy and economical to produce. According to the invention, the speaking valve comprises a proximal first opening and a distal second opening, a filter, which is at least partially surrounded by the housing, which filter is made of an elastic material, and has a proximal first end and a distal second end, wherein the filter partially protrudes beyond an end face of the housing at the distal second opening, and wherein a cover is connected by means of at least one partial region of the bottom surface thereof to a top side of the filter at the distal second end of the filter. A diameter d.sub.1 of the cover is greater than a diameter d.sub.2 of the filter, such that an edge projecting beyond a lateral filter wall of the filter is formed, wherein by application of pressure to the cover from an initial position, a bottom surface of the edge at least partially interacts with the end face of the housing in order to produce a closed position of the speaking valve, and wherein the cover together with the filter returns to the initial position when unloaded.
