Bridle Delivery System Having Reduced-Contact Bridle
A securement device for a system for securing a nasal tube is provided. The securement device includes a bridle having a body extending between a first end and a second end. The body has a lobed or star shape. The securement device further includes a magnetic connection portion disposed at the first end of the bridle. A system for securing a nasal tube can include a securement device as described above, and a retrieval probe. The retrieval probe can include a catheter extending between a proximal end and a distal end; and a magnetic tip disposed at the proximal end. The magnetic connection portion of the bridle and the magnetic tip of the retrieval probe can be configured to magnetically couple during a procedure for inserting the bridle in a nasal passageway of a patient.
ENDOTRACHEAL TUBE APPARATUS AND METHODS
An endotracheal tube apparatus according to an example of this disclosure includes a brace for attachment to a patient's face, a support extending from the brace and including a groove for receiving an endotracheal tube. A clamp surrounds the support and the endotracheal tube. The clamp is comprised of a polymeric material
Surgery pillow and device combining endotracheal tube holder, bite guard, and patient eye protector
A surgery apparatus includes a resilient foam pillow having an arrangement of labeled tabs for holding lines leading to/from a patient during and after surgery. A central cutout area in the pillow accommodates the patient's eyes, nose and mouth when in the prone position. Left and right channels in the foam pillow extend from a top edge of the pillow to the central cutout area for holding a breathing tube system. The foam pillow further includes a removably attachable chest support and opposite shoulder supports. A multipurpose holder device for placement on the patient's head has an arrangement of straps for securing an eye shield, a bite block and ventilator tube securing straps on the patient during surgery.
SECUREMENT DEVICE FOR A PROTRUDING ORAL OR NASAL DEVICE
A securement device for a protruding oral or nasal device includes a continuous strip extending along a longitudinal axis between a first end and a second end. The continuous strip has a first anchor portion at the first end, a second anchor portion at the second end, a first bridge portion, a second bridge portion, and an adhesive for affixing the strip to a patient. The first bridge portion is disposed between the first anchor portion and the second bridge portion, the second bridge portion is disposed between the first bridge portion and the second anchor portion, the second bridge portion extends at an angle relative to the longitudinal axis. The first anchor portion and the second anchor portion are offset from one another relative to the longitudinal axis.
Therapeutic oral device for sleep apnea
The present disclosure provides generally for a therapeutic oral device for sleep apnea and associated methods for using the device. According to the present disclosure, the device may comprise a hard palate portion, mouth guard portion, and a tongue retainer portion. The hard palate portion may comprise one or more materials. The hard palate portion may also comprise a composite of materials, including but not limited to embedded materials. The mouth guard portion may comprise one or more components that provide stability and maintain the position of the therapeutic oral device within the mouth. The tongue retainer portion may comprise an airway and a predetermined length. A method of use may comprise the utilization of one or more incremental oral devices to overcome a gag reflex. When the oral device is formed from a mold, the mouth guard portion and the hard palate portion may be custom fit to the dimensions of the intended mouth.
Hybrid oral device
An oral device for treating obstructive sleep apnea is generally described. In an embodiment, the oral device includes an anchoring member, a lip sealing member and an air transmission member configured to receive and transmit air to a user. The air transmission member may divide and distribute the air to multiple locations within the user's oral cavity. The anchoring member is configured to receive a dentition of the user. According to some embodiments, the lip sealing member may include an inner lip seal and an outer lip seal. The inner and outer lip seals are customized to the user's lips and may be slidably received on the air transmission member. Thus, the lip sealing member is configured to provide a substantially airtight seal for the user's lips, thereby limiting and/or inhibiting air exchange between the user's lips.
Airway stabilization system
An airway stabilization system including an airway device and a securing mechanism or faceplate therefor is provided which includes active stabilizing components on both the airway device and the faceplate which prevent clinically significant movement of the airway device with respect to the patient's vocal cords in response to the application of significant forces in any direction to the device, be they longitudinal, torsional/rotational or bending. The system includes an airway device and an attached retention collar which interacts with a securing device/patient to ensure proper airway insertion depth and provide unparalleled strength and stability against movement. The airway stabilization system includes a unique stabilizer readily adapted for use in field situations to releasably engage or release a retention structure on the airway device to facilitate ease of application in all conditions, a twist-off 15 mm connector which allows a secure connection of the 15 mm connector to the airway device while facilitating easy disconnection thereof, and a universal bite block which cooperates with the securing system to prevent oral and/or dental damage and discomfort to the patient when the system is installed.
Detection of tissue damage
Methods and apparatus for detection of tissue damage in patients using a medical device for an extended period of time are disclosed.
Medical devices and methods of placement
The present invention provides medical devices comprising at least one visualization device sealed to, attached to or otherwise combined with at least one of the following second devices: an oral airway, ventilating mask, urinary catheter, trocar, a tool tube, and a medical glove. The present invention also provides methods for rapid and accurate placement of a medical device in a patient and continuous real time monitoring, including a remote monitoring, of the patient after the placement.
