Fixation apparatus
Fixation apparatus for releasably securing a fixation structure to an airway tube of an artificial airway device is provided, the apparatus (1) being adapted to allow captive axial movement thereof relative to the airway tube (3) in a release position, and to substantially prevent axial movement thereof relative to the airway tube (3) in a secured position.
TRACHEOSTOMY ACCESSORY AND METHODS OF USE
The present invention is directed to a tracheostomy accessory and an associated kit to improve patient comfort and promote stomal healing. A tracheostomy accessory that comprises a faceplate. The faceplate comprises a central portion, a least two end sections, and at least two linking sections. The linking sections can be configured to connect the central portion to the end sections. A method of use of the tracheostomy accessory is also disclosed herein.
Y-TYPE GAUZE POSITIONING ROD AND Y-TYPE GAUZE POSITIONING ASSEMBLY
A Y-type gauze positioning rod is adapted to be disposed in a Y-type gauze so as to position the Y-type gauze to an affected region. The Y-type gauze positioning rod includes a Y-type flexible body having a holder and two supporting branches. The two supporting branches are connected to the holder and separated from each other. A
Y-type gauze positioning assembly is further provided.
Bridle device and method
The present application discloses a bridle device and a method of placing a bridle on a person using the bridle device. In one exemplary embodiment, the bridle device comprises a retrieval portion and a delivery portion. The delivery portion has a retrieval member and a retrieval magnet attached to the retrieval member. The delivery portion has a delivery member and a delivery magnet that is movable relative to a distal portion of the delivery member. In certain embodiments, the delivery portion has a delivery tube and a delivery magnet attached to a flexible elongated member received in the delivery tube. The delivery magnet is movable relative to a distal portion of the delivery tube and both poles of the delivery magnet are exposed outside of the delivery tube.
Medical tube safety device
The invention includes an alarm assembly configured to engage a tube that is capable of extending into a patient. The alarm assembly comprises alarm circuitry, a wound dressing configured to releasably attach to the patient that includes at least one actuator, and a sensor holder. The sensor holder is configured to be releasably coupled to the tube and includes at least one sensor. The at least one sensor is configured to transmit a signal to the alarm circuitry when the at least one actuator actuates the at least one sensor, and the alarm circuitry is configured to produce an alert in response to receiving the signal. The invention also includes a method of detecting a tube dislodging from a patient, as well as a kit comprising a tube, alarm circuitry, a wound dressing, and a sensor holder.
COUPLING AND SUPPORTING OF APPARATUS ON THE FACE AND NECK
Apparatus (58) is provided for coupling a cannula (59) to a face of a subject (24), the apparatus (58) comprising an adhesive pad (60) configured to adhere to a surface of the subject's face, and one or more cannula grips (62) rotatably coupled to the adhesive pad (60) and configured to couple the cannula (59) to the subject's face by gripping the cannula (59). Other embodiments are also described.
TRACHEOSTOMY COLLAR
A reusable quick release tracheostomy collar or band is provided. The tracheostomy collar or band comprises three quick releases so that the tracheostomy collar or band can be quickly removed or freed up such that a tracheostomy tube may be quickly removed. The tracheostomy collar or band includes two chain portions. Each chain portion carries a hook to attach to flanges on the tracheostomy tube. Each hook engages an aperture in a corresponding one of the flanges. In addition, the two chains are connected together at their opposite ends with a hook and catch. The tracheostomy collar or band is of hypoallergenic material.
Nasogastric tube holding assemblies
Tube holding assemblies and methods for using and making the same are provided, including an assembly for holding a nasogastric tube to a patient's head while also being adjustable along a track that may be positioned underneath the patient's nose but above the patient's mouth and about an axis of rotation.
Tracheotomy Device and Method of Use
A device for performing a tracheotomy on a patient without the assistance of a medical professional. The device may include one or more mechanical arms that cause a blade to create an incision, cause a dilating tool to dilate the incision, and cause a tracheotomy tube to be inserted into the incision. The device may further include a scanner and/or a hollow needle connected to an air pressure sensor that may be used to detect whether the device is aligned with the patient's airway.
Airway stabilization system
An airway stabilization system attachable to any airway device to maintain an airway in a patient and which prevents clinically significant movement of the airway device with respect to the patient's vocal cords in response to the application of significant forces in any direction to the device, be they longitudinal, torsional/rotational or bending. The system includes an improved airway device and an improved securing device having interactive components that cooperate integrally with and engage one another to provide unparalleled strength and stability against movement. The securing device includes a unique stabilizer configured to releaseably engage a retention structure on the airway device with a simple twist. A connector device connects the system to a source of ventilatory air without constricting the airway device.
