10527488 · 2020-01-07 · ·

An optical detecting device has gas emission and pressure reduction function and includes a holder, a light penetrating component, a light detecting component, a hole structure, and a. The light penetrating component is disposed on the holder to form an accommodating space whereinside the light detecting component is disposed. The hole structure is formed on the holder to connect with the accommodating space. The waterproofing and ventilating component is disposed on the holder and covers the hole structure to prevent liquid from leaking into the accommodating space via the hole structure. While an inner gas pressure of the accommodating space is decreased, part of the gas is exhausted from the accommodating space via the hole structure and the waterproofing and ventilating component.

Sensor and method for setting threshold of sensor
10429510 · 2019-10-01 · ·

A photoelectric sensor is configured to detect an object by reception of light from a light projecting unit in a light receiving unit. The photoelectric sensor differentiates a sampled light reception amount with respect to time to calculate a variation in the light reception amount per unit time, and sets as a threshold a light reception amount corresponding to an extreme value of the variation in the light reception amount. In this manner, the threshold is set with the variation in the light reception amount per unit time taken into account, thereby enhancing the accuracy in detection of the object by comparison between the light reception amount and the threshold, to allow minimization of jitter of a detection signal from the photoelectric sensor to a programmable logic controller.

Embodiments of the present invention include a backscatter reductant anamorphic beam sampler. The beam sampler can be implemented to measure a power of a reference beam generated by an electromagnetic radiation source in proportion to a power of a working beam. The beam sampler can provide astigmatic correction to a divergence of the working beam along one axis orthogonal to a direction of propagation. The beam sampler can further be implemented to prevent backscatter from impinging upon a photodetector of the beam sampler resulting in a reduction of error and instability in measurements taken by the beam sampler.

Asymmetric optical resonator and optical device comprising the asymmetric optical resonator

An asymmetric optical resonator comprises a waveguiding element forming a closed loop. A first circumference of the loop is different from a second circumference, the first circumference being measured at one end of the loop in a plane perpendicular to a cavity axis. The second circumference is measured at the opposite end of the loop in a plane perpendicular to the cavity axis. An effective refractive index of the waveguiding element varies along a circumferential direction of the loop.
