Oral gas catheters and methods of inducing gas in a patient orally. The oral gas catheter includes one or more delivery cannulas configured to be inserted into the patient's mouth with a distal end of the delivery cannula disposed adjacent the patient's laryngeal inlet, and a clip disposed on the delivery cannula. The clip is configured to secure the delivery cannula to a tooth of the patient. The oral gas catheter may have two such delivery cannulas and clips with the delivery cannulas coupled together by a coupler. The delivery cannulas are placed in an operative position in a patient's mouth and secured in the operative position by releasably securing the clips to the patient's teeth. The oral gas catheter makes it possible to bypass the nasal cavity and deliver oxygen or other gas directly adjacent the laryngeal entrance and into an anatomical dead space of the airway.

A DEVICE FOR A RESPIRATION ARRANGEMENT

The present invention relates to a device for a respiration arrangement. The device comprises a conduit having a first opening connectable to an air/gas source such as a resuscitation bag, and a second opening connectable to a face mask, such that a fluid pathway along a longitudinal direction of the conduit is established from the first opening to the second opening. The device further comprises a flow constriction, arranged in the conduit which upon fluid flow through the conduit results in a pressure difference over the flow constriction, the flow constriction at least partly comprising a laminar flow section, wherein the device further comprises at least one pressure connecting port arranged in pressurized communication with fluid between the flow constriction and the first opening, and wherein the pressure connecting port is arranged in the longitudinal direction of the conduit.

FUNNELED T-CONNECTOR WITH NEBULIZER FOR USE WITH A POSITIVE PRESSURE VENTILATOR

An apparatus for applying positive pressure nebulized liquid to a patient includes a funneled T-connector having a funnel with a first opening of a first diameter, a second opening of a second diameter smaller than the first diameter, and a funnel wall extending between the first and second openings. The funneled T-connector further has a cylindrical nebulizer port that extends outwardly from the funnel wall. A nebulizer cup assembly includes a nebulizer cup to contain liquid and a nebulizer cap to removably attach to a top region of the nebulizer cup. The nebulizer cap has a cylindrical nebulizer outlet sized to removably attach to the cylindrical nebulizer port. The cylindrical nebulizer outlet extends upwardly through the nebulizer passage, beyond the cylindrical nebulizer port, and into the internal funnel space such that a top edge of the cylindrical nebulizer outlet is located within the internal funnel space.

Patient valve for ventilating a patient with a ventilator

A patient valve for ventilating a patient with a ventilator, including a first valve element having at least one connection, wherein the at least one connection is oriented with the central axis thereof at an angle deviating from the vertical position in relation to the patient valve central axis, such that a shortened patient valve having a reduced dead space volume is supported.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR CALIBRATING OXYGEN SENSORS IN VENTILATORS
20230030766 · 2023-02-02 · ·

Systems and methods for calibrating oxygen sensors in ventilators are provided. An oxygen sensor is coupled in flow communication with a first oxygen gas source. A calibration circuit including a second oxygen gas source is coupled in flow communication with the oxygen sensor and a third oxygen gas source is coupled in flow communication with the oxygen sensor. A controller is configured to determine a calibration curve for the oxygen sensor via the calibration circuit by measuring the second oxygen gas source and the third oxygen gas source. Based on the calibration curve, an oxygen concentration value of the first oxygen gas source is measured and distributed.
