Systems and methods for therapeutic intrathoracic pressure regulation
Embodiments of the present invention provide systems and methods for delivering respiratory treatment to a patient. For example, a treatment system may include a mechanism for delivering a positive pressure breath to a patient, and one or more limb flow control assemblies which modulate gas flow to and from the patient. Exemplary treatment techniques are embodied in anesthesia machines, mechanical ventilators, and manual ventilators.
PNEUMATIC SYSTEM FOR AN ANAESTHESIA SYSTEM
A pneumatic system (55) for an anesthesia system, includes an internal closed-circuit system (34) and with an external closed-circuit system (54). The internal closed-circuit system (34) has a flush valve assembly (49). The flush valve assembly (49) can be brought into an open state by a control unit (200) on the basis of a current tidal volume.
Oxygen Boost During Mechanical Ventilation of a Patient
A ventilator delivers breathing gas to a patient via a patient circuit connecting the ventilator and the patient. The ventilator is configured to, upon activation of an oxygen boost function of the ventilator, increase the oxygen concentration of the breathing gas so as to deliver oxygen-enriched breathing gas to the patient. The ventilator includes a control unit configured to determine the volume of a part of the patient circuit conveying breathing gas from the ventilator to the patient, determine a delay in delivery of the oxygen-enriched breathing gas to the patient based on the volume, and cause indication of the delay to an operator of the ventilator.
System and device for neonatal resuscitation and initial respiratory support
The present invention relates to a device and a system for positive pressure ventilation and continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) treatment for neonatal resuscitation and initial respiratory support. The device and system are designed and tested for preterm and term neonatal use. The device is easy to use and allows rapid switch between PPV and CPAP without change of equipment and significantly reduces the imposed work of breathing for a breathing child treated with CPAP.
Integrated, Extendable Anesthesia System
The anesthesia systems have an integrated, extendable clinical center and clinician/anesthesia office that accommodates for a physical separation of clinical and clerical functions. The anesthesia system includes an alarm reversion system which enables a predefined alarm limit to be set and then to be automatically reverted back to an alarm limit existing just before the predefined alarm limit was set.
Warming therapy patient care units with automated cooling modes
Described herein is a system including a patient support unit having a patient environment, a heating module, a sensor module, and a control system. The control system is configured to selectively operate the system in a pre-programmed cooling mode configured to disable the heating module while monitoring patient-specific data of the patient using the sensor module. Related apparatus, systems, methods and/or articles are described.
Breathing assistance system with multiple pressure sensors
A method for managing pressure in a breathing assistance system configured to provide breathing assistance to a patient via a patient connection system is provided. The method may include receiving one or more first pressure sensor signals from a first pressure sensor, and analyzing the one or more first pressure sensor signals. Based at least on the analysis of the one or more first pressure sensor signals, either the first pressure sensor or the second pressure sensor may be selected for use in controlling the breathing assistance provided to the patient, and the breathing assistance provided to the patient may be controlled based at least on signals from the selected pressure sensor.
Method and Medicament for Pain Management
The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for treating pain in a patient, such as a veterinary patient. The method comprises the step of administering an inhalation anaesthetic at sub-anaesthetic levels to the patient during anaesthesia of the patient. A suitable agent may be methoxyflurane.
RESPIRATORY FACE MASK AND BREATHING CIRCUIT ASSEMBLY
A disposable breathing circuit is adapted to be connected between a disposable face mask and a vacuum source for delivering fresh gas to the face mask and for scavenging waste gas exhaled from the face mask. The breathing circuit includes a fresh gas supply limb and an exhalation limb and a scavenging limb coupled to the exhalation limb. The scavenging limb includes a one-way valve to prevent re-breathing, a flexible flow-through reservoir bag used to store exhaled gas, and an output tube adapted to be coupled between the flow-through reservoir bag and the vacuum source.
