ADJUSTABLE SHEATH DEVICE
The disclosure generally relates to adjustable sheath devices for insertion into the body to provide intravascular access to various medical devices, involving a dynamically expandable sheath capable of expanding within the blood vessel when a medical device is passed through the sheath and retracting back to almost its original size when the medical device is removed from the sheath. Embodiments generally comprise a rigid collar and an elongated sleeve comprising a continuous elastomeric outer layer and an expandable inner layer.
Multi-lumen catheters and related methods of manufacture
A method of making a multi-lumen catheter may include disposing an outer surface of a mandrel against an outer surface of a first catheter; disposing a first heat shrink material around the first catheter and the mandrel; heating the first catheter and the mandrel to form a U-shaped channel along the outer surface of the first catheter; removing the first heat shrink material and the mandrel from the first catheter; placing a second catheter into the U-shaped channel; disposing a second heat shrink material around the first catheter and the second catheter such that the second catheter is retained within the U-shaped channel; and heating the first catheter and the second catheter to cause reflow between the first catheter and the second catheter to form the multi-lumen catheter.
CATHETER PACKAGE A SYSTEM FOR CATHETER CONTAINMENT
A system for catheter containment and application that includes: a catheter package, where said catheter package is adapted to contain residue fluids; a catheter within the catheter package, where the catheter enters a first end and extends through the catheter package; a mid section of the catheter package; a distal end of the catheter package, where a funnel receives fluid from the catheter at the distal end; and lubrication within the catheter package. The system for catheter containment may further includes two sanitizer packs attached to the first end of the catheter package with one sanitizer pack on each side and a contoured mid section. Preferably, the lubrication is provided at the first end of the catheter package.
COMPOUND CURVE NAVIGATION CATHETER
A catheter assembly for navigation including a flexible catheter having a proximal portion adjacent a proximal end and a distal portion adjacent a distal end and defining a longitudinal axis, the flexible catheter defining a lumen extending therethrough along a longitudinal axis and configured to enable translation of an instrument from the proximal end to the distal end. The flexible catheter defines a compound curve formed on the distal portion, wherein the compound curve includes an elbow bend and a radially curved portion. The elbow bend deflecting the distal portion of the flexible catheter from the longitudinal axis, while the radially curved portion extends from the elbow bend farther deflecting the distal portion about a center point. The catheter guide assembly for navigation includes a control handle disposed at the proximal end of the flexible catheter and is configured to advance and rotate the flexible catheter within a luminal structure.
IMPROVEMENTS IN CORRUGATED CATHETERS
A catheter (1) comprises a jacket (20, 33) and defining a lumen, and extends distally towards a tip (30, 31). The catheter has a helical support (20) within the jacket for at least some of the length of the jacket. The catheter distal end has a plurality of portions of different configurations for different bending and/or pushability characteristics. These may be according to different helical supports and the manner in which they are interwoven, and/or different liners with lap joints. There may be a hydrophilic coating.
PACKAGED HYDROPHILIC MEDICAL PRODUCTS THAT ARE HYDRATED WITHIN THE PACKAGE AND METHODS OF MAKING THE SAME
Ready to use packaged medical products that include hydrated hydrophilic medical devices and methods of making the same.
Catheter tube
A catheter that has a catheter tube everting inside-out during the process of catheterization. The catheter tube has a plurality of longitudinal protrusions extending from the first end of the catheter tube through at least a portion of the catheter tube, and forming an angle of 0 degrees to 45 degrees with respect to the longitudinal axis of the catheter tube and facing radially inwards, and provides for dilating a circumference of the catheter tube upon everting the catheter tube inside-out from the first end of the catheter tube.
REUSABLE URINARY CATHETER PRODUCTS
Reusable catheter products (10) are provided for storing, transporting, and sterilizing reusable urinary catheters. The products include a case (12) comprising a proximal section (30), a middle section (40), and a distal section (32). The case includes a cavity (16) configured to receive a catheter (14); the cavity includes a hydration fluid (18). The catheter comprises a distal end, a proximal end and a tubular section therebetween and includes a hydrophilic coating. When the catheter is inserted into the case, the hydration fluid sterilizes and lubricates the catheter.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR A BALLOON CATHETER SUPPORT SLEEVE
A system and method for widening a narrowed blood vessel in a patient, the system including a guidewire, a balloon catheter having an enlarging balloon, and a tubular support sleeve having at least one support balloon. The support balloon is inflated to mechanically support the advancement of the balloon catheter into a narrowed segment of the blood vessel.
CATHETER MOUTH DESIGNS
An expandable mouth for a catheter can be capable of local flow restriction and provide a large mouth opening providing sufficient radial force while having the flexibility to reach and retrieve an occlusive clot. The expandable mouth can have a framework with a collapsed state so the clot retrieval catheter can be compatible low-profile outer catheters and an expanded state for contacting the walls of a vessel and sealing off or restricting proximal flow. The framework can have one or more support arms and distal support hoops which can have narrowed segments, undulations, closed cells, and other flexibility enhancing features. Alternately, the framework can be a mesh having an array of closed cells. The expandable mouth can feature a membrane cover disposed around the supporting framework. These improvements can provide safe and rapid access to complex areas and more reliably remove occlusions while shortening procedure times.
