MICRO-FABRICATED MEDICAL DEVICE HAVING A NON-HELICAL CUT ARRANGEMENT
The present disclosure relates to interventional devices such as catheters and guidewire devices having micro-fabricated features for providing flexibility while maintaining good torquability. An interventional device includes an elongated member having an arrangement of fenestrations which define a plurality of axially extending beams coupling a plurality of circumferentially extending rings. The fenestrations are arranged so that the resulting beams form a distributed, non-helical and non-linear pattern along the length of the elongated member. The pattern of fenestrations thereby minimizes or eliminates preferred bending axes.
STRUCTURE FOR A CATHETER SLEEVE OR AN IMPLANT
An implant includes a tubular discontinuous structure formed of a plurality of webs that at least partially extend in a longitudinal direction. The plurality of webs includes at least one joint element having a main web substantially extending in the longitudinal direction. There is a continuous gap in the main web. At least one bridge web is arranged next to the main web in a circumferential direction (U) and connected to the main web in the longitudinal direction (A) in front of and behind the gap.
PROSTHETIC HEART VALVE
A handle for a prosthetic heart valve delivery apparatus includes a housing, a motorized mechanism, and a holding mechanism. The housing is configured to be hand-held by a user and includes a distal opening. The motorized mechanism is disposed within the housing and is configured to be releasably coupled to a proximal end portion of a first shaft of the prosthetic heart valve delivery apparatus. When actuated, the motorized mechanism is configured to rotate the first shaft relative to the housing. The holding mechanism is disposed inside the housing and is configured to engage a proximal end portion of a second shaft of the prosthetic heart valve delivery apparatus such that the second shaft is axially and rotationally fixed relative to the housing, and the first shaft extends through the second shaft.
Prosthetic heart valve
Certain embodiments of the present disclosure provide a prosthetic valve (e.g., prosthetic heart valve) and a valve delivery apparatus for delivery of the prosthetic valve to a native valve site via the human vasculature. The prosthetic valve comprises a frame or stent that comprises multiple cells arranged in unique ways. The prosthetic valve also comprises a leaflet assembly coupled to the frame and having a plurality of leaflets, wherein the leaflets are configured to allow blood to flow through the prosthetic heart valve in one direction from an inflow end portion to an outflow end portion of the frame or stent.
Catheters with enhanced flexibility and associated devices, systems, and methods
A neuromodulation catheter includes an elongate shaft and a neuromodulation element. The shaft includes two or more first cut shapes and two or more second cut shapes along a helical path extending around a longitudinal axis of the shaft. The first cut shapes are configured to at least partially resist deformation in response to longitudinal compression and tension on the shaft and torsion on the shaft in a first circumferential direction. The second cut shapes are configured to at least partially resist deformation in response to longitudinal compression on the shaft and torsion on the shaft in both first and second opposite circumferential directions.
Medical elongated body
A medical elongated body is disclosed that suppresses elongation in an axial direction while maintaining high flexibility and has high torque transmission capability even in a bent state. The medical elongated body includes a tube shaped body. The tube shaped body has a slit extending in a spiral shape while meandering, the slit is formed from a pair of a first opposing surface and a second opposing surface, the first opposing surface forms a first convex portion, the first convex portion has a first wide portion having a width wider in a circumferential direction Y, the second opposing surface forms a first concave portion which surrounds and accommodates the first wide portion, the first convex portion has a first plane portion and a first side portion connected to both end portions, and in a circumferential developed view, the first side portion and the first plane portion have tangential discontinuity.
Micro-fabricated guidewire devices having varying diameters
Polymer catheters and guidewires for use in intravascular surgery, and more particularly polymer catheters and guidewires micro-machined with a micro-cutting machine to provide sufficient flexibility to travel through a patient's vasculature while retaining sufficient torquability to transmit torque from a proximal end to the distal end of the catheter or guidewire, and methods of producing the same.
Neurovascular distal access support catheters, aspiration catheters, or device shafts
A catheter or shaft, such as a distal access support or aspiration catheter, is provided that is configured to be advanced at least partially within a patient. The catheter or shaft may include a flexible and hollow shaft including a proximal end and a distal end. The flexible and hollow shaft may include a slotted portion with a plurality of slotted openings, the slotted portion including a first segment with a first pattern of slotted openings and a second segment extending proximally relative the first segment with a second pattern of slotted openings different from the first pattern.
MICRO-FABRICATED INTRAVASCULAR DEVICES HAVING VARYING DIAMETERS
Polymer catheters and guidewires for use in intravascular surgery, and more particularly polymer catheters and guidewires micro-machined with a micro-cutting machine to provide sufficient flexibility to travel through a patient's vasculature while retaining sufficient torquability to transmit torque from a proximal end to the distal end of the catheter or guidewire, and methods of producing the same.
Catheter Circuit
A circuit system includes a user interface, voltage source, and a terminal bank connected to the voltage source. The circuit can be used in a powered catheter system where the catheter includes a structural reinforcement layer such as a braid comprised of one or more wires. The reinforcement layer can be used to convey a current or signal in a powered catheter. The catheter may utilize a hypotube element which provides integrated sensors in order to power and control multiple systems in the powered catheter.
