Catheter including contractible electroactive elements
11724069 · 2023-08-15 · ·

In some examples, a catheter includes an elongated body that includes a proximal portion and a distal portion, and one or more electroactive elements in at least one of the proximal portion or the distal portion of the elongated body. The one or more electroactive elements each include a contractive material configured contract in response to an application of an electrical signal to the respective electroactive element. The contraction of the electroactive elements is configured to change a dimension or a shape of the elongated body. The electroactive elements may be distributed around the elongated body at the distal portion of the elongated body, such as in different axial or radial positions. The electroactive elements may comprise a nickel titanium (NiTi) alloy having a Ni:Ti composition of about 50:50.

Low Profile Lumen Access Catheter
20230248946 · 2023-08-10 ·

A temporary low profile intraluminal catheter for infusing agents into, or extracting fluids from, a bodily lumen comprising securement means, wherein said securement means allows said catheter to be placed with minimal intrusion into said bodily lumen is disclosed. With such design affording a more efficient, verifiable placement of said catheter with less complication due to infection and biofilm related issues, among other types of complications.

Instrument for delivering substances into the anatomy

A medical instrument that includes a needle and an expandable member located at a distal end of the needle. The expandable member includes a blocking member. The expandable member is configured to move tissue away from a distal end of the needle and/or from a distal end of a tubular member that is in fluid communication with a substance source. A substance is configured to be expelled into the anatomy through the expandable member. The blocking member is configured to restrict or prevent the substance from being expelled through the portion of the expandable member that includes the blocking member.

ARTERIAL BALLOON WITH VARIABLE PRESSURES
20220126070 · 2022-04-28 ·

Provided is a balloon with multiple small segments (balloons) fused to each other along the shaft of the balloon. Each segment has a different pressure profile. Each segment has a separate outlet (slot) used for its inflation with the required pressure according to the tightness and calcification of the lesion of the arterial wall. Each segment can be inflated with different pressures and the apposition of the overlying stent can be confirmed without the need for another non compliant balloon which carry many complications and add extra cost.

Catheter Placement System with Stiffening System

Disclosed herein is a catheter placement system with a stiffening system and associated methods thereof. The catheter placement system can include a needle, catheter (e.g. rapid insertion central catheter), one or more guidewires, and a stiffening system, configured to place the catheter while containing portions of the catheter placement system that contact the patient within a sterile environment. Advantageously, the catheter placement system can provide all tools necessary for accessing a vasculature, dilating the insertion site and placing the catheter within a single device, mitigating repeated insertion of multiple tools and reducing the risk of introducing pathogens or the like. Further, the overall time required to place the catheter is reduced, reducing patient down time and improving patient outcomes.

NEUROASPIRATION CATHETER FOR THROMBECTOMY

Described herein is a neuroaspiration catheter for removing a blood clot in a blood vessel. The neuroaspiration catheter includes a first tube, a second tube and a wire for guiding the navigation of the catheter. The wire can be navigated to the site of the blood clot, aid the navigation of the catheter, and left in the blood vessel during and after the aspiration. If the aspiration fails, the catheter can be quickly navigated back to the site of the blood clot using the wire as a guide. Also described herein is a method of removing a blood clot using the neuroaspiration catheter.

Smart obturator with sensor and smart obturator assembly

An obturator assembly includes an obturator at least partially positionable within a lumen of a device. The obturator has a distal end with a tip portion and an opposing proximal end. A sensor assembly is at the tip portion. The sensor assembly is configured to sense one or more environmental characteristics and to generate one or more signals representative of the one or more environmental characteristics. A hub is operatively coupled to the obturator. The hub is also operatively coupled to electronic circuitry that is coupled in signal communication with the sensor assembly. In certain embodiments, the electronic circuitry is configured to receive the one or more signals from the sensor assembly and transmit the one or more signals to remote reception circuitry and/or display a datum representative of the one or more environmental characteristics on a display of the hub.

Catheter

A catheter according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes a mesh member, a first hollow shaft, a front end tip, a guiding film, and a core wire. The mesh member has a tubular shape and is radially expandable and contractable. The guiding film is formed with a stretchable material and is disposed on the mesh member, the guiding film having a front end located between a base end of the front end tip and a front end of the first hollow shaft. A thickness of a base end of the guiding film is larger than a thickness of the front end of the guiding film.

Catheter, medical device for the introduction of a treatment solution

A medical device includes a catheter, which includes a first lumen for injection of a first volume of a treatment solution, the first lumen opening out at the distal end of the catheter; and a junction element extending the first lumen at the end of the catheter including a diameter at the distal end thereof less than the diameter of the catheter.
