DEVICES AND SYSTEMS FOR INTRALUMINAL LOCAL DRUG DELIVERY
Devices, systems for localized delivery of a chemotherapy, hormonal therapy or targeted drug/biologic therapy to a target tissue area of an internal body organ of a patient. A catheter 10 forms a sealed treatment chamber in a natural lumen extending through the target tissue area. Air is purged from the chamber, which is then filled with a liquid drug solution for an adequate treatment session time, solution volume and drug concentration to saturate the target tissue area, thereby providing the treatment. The liquid drug solution may be circulated or recirculated through the chamber or maintained stationary therewithin. The drug may saturate the target tissue area and pass therethrough into the lymphatic system or interstitial space, which may serve as a reservoir of the drug for continued therapeutic treatment after withdrawal of the catheter. The chamber is evacuated at the end of the treatment session.
DEVICE FOR SURFACTANT ADMINISTRATION AND VENTILATION OF LOW BIRTH WEIGHT INFANTS
A fluid delivery and airway management device including a tubular member dimensioned for introducing a fluid into a trachea of a mammal, the tubular member having a proximal portion, a distal portion, and a middle portion between the proximal portion and the distal portion. The tubular member is dimensioned for positioning of the proximal portion in an oral cavity of a mammal, the middle portion in an oropharynx of the mammal and the distal portion in an esophagus of the mammal. An inflatable oral cavity balloon is positioned at the proximal portion and dimensioned to occlude the oral cavity. An inflatable esophageal balloon is positioned at the distal portion and dimensioned to occlude the esophagus. Apertures may be formed within the middle portion such that a fluid introduced into the tubular member is output through the apertures to a trachea.

Apparatus comprising: a flexible sleeve adapted to be slid over the exterior of an endoscope, wherein the endoscope comprises a proximal end and a distal end, and a handle disposed at the proximal end of the endoscope, and wherein the sleeve comprises a proximal end, a distal end and a sleeve lumen extending therebetween, and further wherein the sleeve is configured to be slid over the exterior of the endoscope so as to substantially cover the exterior of the endoscope from a point adjacent to the distal end of the endoscope to a point adjacent to the handle of the endoscope; a balloon secured to the distal end of the sleeve; an inflation/deflation tube carried by the sleeve and in fluid communication with an interior of the balloon; and a pair of push tubes mounted to the sleeve.
Systems and methods for treatment of fluid overload
Various systems and methods are provided for reducing pressure at an outflow of a duct, such as the thoracic duct or the lymphatic duct, for example, the right lymphatic duct. A catheter system can be configured to be at least partially implanted within a vein of a patient in the vicinity of an outflow port of a duct of the lymphatic system. The catheter system includes first and second selectively deployable restriction members each configured to be activated to at least partially occlude the vein within which the catheter is implanted and to thus restrict fluid within a portion of the vein. The catheter system includes an impeller configured to be driven by a motor to induce a low pressure zone between the restriction members by causing blood to be pumped through the catheter when the restriction members occlude the vein.

Apparatus comprising: a sleeve adapted to be slid over the exterior of an endoscope; an aft balloon secured to the sleeve; an inflation/deflation tube carried by the sleeve and in fluid communication with the interior of the aft balloon; a pair of hollow push tubes slidably mounted to the sleeve, the pair of hollow push tubes being connected to one another at their distal ends with a raised push tube bridge, the raised push tube bridge being configured to nest an endoscope therein; and a fore balloon secured to the distal ends of the pair of hollow push tubes, the interior of the fore balloon being in fluid communication with the interiors of the pair of hollow push tubes, wherein the fore balloon is capable of assuming a deflated condition and an inflated condition, and further wherein (i) when the fore balloon is in its deflated condition, an axial opening extends therethrough, the axial opening being sized to receive the endoscope therein, and (ii) when the fore balloon is in its inflated condition, the axial opening is closed down.
Electroporation for obesity or diabetes treatment
Endolumenal devices and methods can be used for the treatment of health conditions including obesity and diabetes. In some embodiments, the methods and systems provided herein can cause weight loss or control diabetes by reducing the caloric absorption of an individual. For example, this document provides several devices and methods for treating obesity and diabetes by using electroporation to modulate the duodenal mucosa. In addition, this document provides devices and methods for bypassing portions of the gastrointestinal tract to reduce nutritional uptake.
SYSTEMS, APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR REMOVING OCCLUSIONS FROM A VASCULAR VESSEL
A medical device for removal of an occlusion from a vessel in a patient’s body. The retrieval device having a retriever sub-system and an aspiration sub-system. The retriever sub-system having a delivery catheter and an elongated delivery member that includes proximal and distal expandable elements, the proximal element being removably engaged to the elongated delivery member and the distal element being fixed to the elongated delivery member. The proximal element adapted to move axially along the elongated delivery member in a distal direction toward the distal element when the proximal element is released from the elongated delivery member, whereby, when the proximal element is disposed on a distal side of the vessel occlusion and the distal element is disposed on a proximal side of the occlusion, the proximal and distal elements surround, isolate and contain the occlusion between the proximal and distal elements at the vessel occlusion site. The medical device also includes means for delivering a pharmacological agent composition to the vessel occlusion site during and after the occlusion extraction, the pharmacological agent composition adapted to at least partially lyse and/or disassociate the occlusion from the vessel wall or ameliorate and/or facilitate amelioration of tissue damage to an endothelial luminal wall of an obstructed vessel in vivo and/or enhance the flow rate of blood through the vessel. The aspiration sub-system being in communication with the retriever sub-system and adapted to remove at least a portion of the occlusion from the vessel.
Purified pentagalloyl glucose and devices for delivery
Disclosed herein is a method of producing high purity pentagalloyl glucose (PGG), analogues or derivatives thereof, at least 99.9% pure, by washing with dimethyl ether. PGG may be provided in a kit, including a hydrolyzer for dissolving the PGG and a saline solution. Also disclosed herein is a device for delivery of a therapeutic solution to a blood vessel. The device may be a catheter having an upstream balloon and a downstream balloon. The upstream balloon may be expanded to anchor the catheter and occlude antegrade blood flow. The downstream balloon may be expanded to occlude retrograde blood flow, creating a sealed volume within the blood vessel. The downstream balloon may have pores configured to deliver a therapeutic inflation solution into the sealed volume or a portion thereof. The downstream balloon may be expanded by the expansion of a balloon disposed inside the downstream balloon.
Split overtube assembly
